Terrible Service - Edit

Decent food but terrible customer service. I ordered over the phone and was told my order order would be ready soon. When I got there they said they never received my order.

Obsessed - Edit

Me and my meat-eating boyfriend are both obsessed with this place! This is the perfect place to take non-veg friends and family.
We both love the soy fingers and soy nuggets, general tsos soy protein, orange flavored seitan, and mango soy protein. They have plenty of dessert options as well and I LOVE that vegan fried ice cream!
You get your food fairly quick even when the restaurant is busy.
I do wish they offered something new/different with the main courses. They offer miso soup or a salad. The miso soup is good but not AMAZING. The dressing on the salad is kind of weird. I wish that I could sub out the dressing for a different kind, or have a different soup instead. Or that they would simply switch up the soup and salad every 6 months/year or something. I also think the rice tastes kind of weird.
The staff don't speak super good English and tend to take your order then run away. I wish they would be a little more attentive and communicate slightly better. I definitely wouldn't call it bad service by any means, I just wish I felt that I could ask more questions to my waitress when Im there.

Pros: amazing food, cute decor

Cons: salad dressing, service could be better

good food, terrible service - Edit

My boyfriend and I just visited Veggie Fun for the first time. I had the sesame tofu and he had the general tso's. I got the miso soup, he got the salad. Both sides were nothing special, but a nice addition. Both main dishes came out quickly and we're pretty good. Overall the sauce on my tofu was good but overly sweet and lacked depth in the flavor.

Our major disappointment was the service. As a former server, I have some expectations. Our server never checked up on us to ask how or food was or if we needed anything and she left us waiting for nearly 20 minutes after we had finished before my boyfriend got up to ask for the check (and a water refill). Meanwhile we could see her talking to her coworkers in the back! I will likely return but will only opt for takeout. I wouldn't order either of the dishes we ordered again because they were way too sweet for my palate.

Pros: food came out quick , large helpings

Cons: terrible service!! , overly sweet sauces , no beer on tap/limited bottle selection

disappointing - Edit

We were so excited to try a completely vegan rest. We don’t eat refined sugars where some vegans do. They couldn’t answer any of our questions if the items had refined sugar or not and wouldn’t let us look at the ingredient lists on products. Just really disappointed.

Pros: ambiance was nice, appeared clean

Cons: waitress was rude, staff not educated on being a vegan

A little odd - Edit

The dining area inside felt a little upscale but the food was average. The main courses were all served with brown rice and couldn't be subbed for white (to my knowledge).

The food felt very westernized, which doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, however I found everything was overly drenched in sauce and was too sweet.

The AC was way too cold, but my main concern were the fans on top of the seating area. We were seated right below one, and it kept blowing into my face, making my eyes dry, causing me to blink all the time. It was fairly uncomfortable.

Pros: Okay tasting food

Cons: Fans blowing into your face, Everything drenched in sauce

Excellent for date night - Edit

This felt like more of a nice place for a date than most vegan restaurants. It even had a full bar and fun cocktails. (I don't recommend the drink with ice cream on top, though--it didn't cone together right and the ice cream just turned into blobs in the drink. Maybe it should be blended.)

Our entrees were just what we wanted. The moo-shu fantasia and sesame tofu (with General Tso's sauce) were both very flavorful and well-presented. Check this place out!

So good - Edit

Vegan heaven - delicate flavours and cooking to perfection made this the best meal of the vegan portion of my life. Sesame Tofu- yes, Seitan in black bean sauce, yes, hot and spicy noodle soup - yes.
Actually a very classy joint indeed, only let down by it's name which fails to do it any justice. Quick and friendly service too. 10 points

DELICIOUS! - Edit

I highly recommend going to this restaurant. I was overjoyed to finally be in a restaurant where I could order anything on the menu! We got appetizers and meals. All of it was delicious and filling. The only negative is that there is no parking. I tried to go after work to pick up food on the way home and couldn't find parking. We went back on a Sunday and there was plenty of free street parking. I will go back.

Pros: Great menu, Good food

Cons: no parking

YUM! - Edit

They have a very wide selection of vegan items! The food is so good and is very inexpensive for the amount served. I had the udon noodle soup, roll sampler and grilled eggplant and they were all great! I thought the food was very yummy and I will definitely go back.

amazing! - Edit

Veggie Fun is absolutely delicious, fresh, all vegan Chinese food. I have never been disappointed. Two of my favorite things from the menu are the soy skewers appetizer (omg!!) and the General tso 'chkn'. Many options on the menu, one of these days I will save room for dessert ?

Love it!! - Edit

Our family eats here at least once a month (take out or eat-in). Finally decided we should write a review. We LOVE the food - especially the scallion pancakes, General Tso's soy protein, Kung Pao Eggplant, and Pad Thai. We always seem to get the same server, who is very sweet (I don't know her name). I don't love the soups (I don't like the taste of seaweed), and I haven't found a tea I like yet. My daughter loves the mint lemonade. For dessert we love the chocolate cake, banana spring rolls, and fried ice cream.

Happy they are now all vegan! - Edit

Happy to see that Veggie Fun became all vegan a couple of months ago! The service is always friendly and quick. The menu is an eclectic mix of items spanning most of the major Asian cuisines. Lunch specials are a good value. Our favorites are General Tso's chicken, Singapore Noodles and anything on a sizzling platter. The sweet and sour soy protein is the sticky red sauce - just like what we remember from the 70's and 80's. While we don't often order dessert, we've been quite happy whenever we did.

Pros: Now all vegan!, Kosher!, Good for downtown tourists & waterfire!

I had the Singapore Noodles, and am so glad I did! I look forward to trying other items on their menu. Very friendly, attentive service. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommended.

As of 4-Sept-2015, this place is currently listed as "Vegetarian" on Happy Cow, but it is 100% vegan.

Divine! - Edit

WOW! I honestly cannot say enough about this place! First, the service is THE BEST IN PROVIDENCE. The servers are ALWAYS super pleasant and attentive. The decor is really nice-it's dark, and I love that! (There is a very interesting "design" on the floor which VERY closely resembles the female reproductive system which I absolutely LOVE).
The food, OH THE FOOD!!!
Try EVERYTHING! It is ALL amazing! I particularly favour the "sizzling tofu plate" (not sure that's the actual name of the dish, but it's the only "sizzling" option on the menu). My kiddos LOVE it here, as does my husband and newly-vegan father. My favourite drink of the Thai iced tea. . .too DIE for! I easily order at least 3 EVERY time! I just cannot help myself, it's SO DAMN GOOD!!! This is hands down our favourite restaurant in the 401! GET THERE AND TRY IT!!!

Pros: SO many vegan options!!! Great location!!! FANTAST

Cons: A tad expensive, but it's to be expected.

Delicious! - Edit

The staff was so nice and helpful! We enjoyed our stay and liked the food very much. Soy and seitan mock meats were delicious just like in the best places in Asia. Non-vegan options (one or two) are clearly marked. Love to have it that way for a change!

Pros: almost completely vegan, vegan cocktails!, nice staff

Cons: some items contain whey
