Delicious Caribbean Food! - Edit
I love it here! EVERYTHING is vegan. This is a counter service type establishment. They make a number of dishes that you can take with you or eat in their newish seating area (they used to just have a couple of stools and a little counter, but now they have a whole room with several tables and chairs).
Read moreEverything is so good! I buy a lot of vegan goodies from Vege Eats in Flushing, and a lot of Veggie Castle II's food seems to be made from the same stuff (which is really interesting, because most of the products at Vege Eats are from Taiwan). I just wish my cooking was as good as Veggie Castle II's! My partner and I love to order a large meal (two protein dishes and three sides) and share. It is plenty of food for two, though you may love it so much, you'll want to get more. AND they have vegan patties (fake Jamaican beef patties, callaloo patties, bean patties, fake fish patties, etc etc etc).
They also have a lot of desserts. Some look like they are from Vegan Treats in PA, but the flavors are unlike those that are usually sold in NYC. I've seen pistacchio cake at Veggie Castle II. Some desserts are made in house, including their Jamaican cassava cake. It's so delicious! Much like a Filipino cassava cake, but much more coconutty. Next Christmas, I'll be sure to see if they sell vegan rum cake. MMMMM!!!
Also try their herbal root beverages, if your curiosity is piqued!
The restaurant is only closed three days a year: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, I think!
Pros: Everything is vegan!, Caribbean food!, Patties!
Cons: None!

Incredible vegan food - Edit
I come here every single time I come home from JFK. They have everything from sandwiches to a juice bar to pastries to a buffet where you can tell them which items you want them to add to your container. My favorite is the “wings” which have an actual stick in them to mimic a real wing.

Yummy - Edit
I always get my Uber eats meals from here, love this place. They have a wide variety of foods but my fave is the Mac and cheese, potatoes, and drum sticks. The lentil patties come second.

Always satisfied after ordering here - Edit
They got it all and some of my favorites were the blueberry cheesecake, mushroom burger and the fried chicken. I got the BBQ version and it's the best. The large meal is the best.

busy little spot with great food! we both got the vegan chicken sandwich and i added avocado to mine, they both came with fries (which were seasoned a little spicy in a good way!) and i got a small mac and cheese to go. everything was so good, and on our way out they even gave us some free quinoa to take home! would definitely come back here to try more!

I loved the fact that they have a bakery and make fresh bread, roti, patties, and desserts daily. The selection ofvegannfood is amazing. The Mac n cheese, the lo mein, the chickn on a stick, collard greens and plantains were amazing.

Amazing - Edit
The juice are amazing , there’s no dine in area , it’s like a buffet you can pick what you like to go, I’m not sure why it’s label as vegetarian but not vegan though because I don’t see any egg and dairy products

Apparently they use honey, that’s why it’s labeled as vegetarian.

Omg which dish has honey ?

Not sure which ones😒But several reviews mention it and Happy Cow’s description also states that.

I see, so it’s a Buddhism influenced religion restaurant, so very common most of their smoothies will add honey, but their juice is fresh squeezed so it’s good, I have strong allergy reactions towards honey, I ordered the fresh squeezed juice from Uber so they make it a juice bar way ( also there’s a Latino mama there, so I see plantain there too😄 I can taste the differences when something contains honey , in USA people very often call people honey, I don’t really like people call me honey because as I said I have strong allergy reaction to it, my throat will instantly dry up and I will lose voice instantly. I grew up in a community we don’t really use honey, honey is a fancy expensive western item. I prefer people call me sweetheart or dear , but I won’t correct them when they call me honey I find it rude to just correct people , but people who know me or close to me they know I don’t like honey

Slipping - Edit
I have been going there since they opened and actually back when they opened in Brooklyn in a closed down White Castle. I have always loved their food and had great conversations and liked the staff. I was a regular going almost once a week and now I barely ever go due to moving, work, etc.
Read moreEvery time I go now I am disappointed. The food does not seems as good as it was and none of the staff I knew are there anymore and the staff that helped me the last few times were downright rude.
I also feel that the taste has gone down a bit as well as the portions.
Something that pisses me off is if I order a small which has two sides and one protein and order drumsticks I get two drumsticks. Bit if I order a medium with two side and two proteins and ask for drumsticks I only get one. I asked and he said "You get one" with a medium. So I guess one drumstick is $4.75. I told him skip the drumstick and I will get another protein. I got the other protein, but with some eyerolls, snickers and attitude.
I will give them one more chance, but really disappointed with the quality and service.
Pros: Amazing Selection
Cons: Customer Service, Portions!

Off-Menu Item: Sugarcane Juice. Caribbean-Inspired Comfort Food. - Edit
I was a regular customer at Veggie Castle when I lived close by from 2016-2018-- and during those years, I went to Veggie Castle at least 50 times.
Read moreThough their menu includes items with fixed ingredients, I always got the make-your-own-meal: you choose the size of your dish, then tell the staff workers what food items you want, by pointing to their buffet display.
I've always enjoyed their mac and cheese and BBQ drumsticks (all vegan, of course)! And this is off the menu, but they have sugarcane juice available-- which is always delicious.

Good Food - Edit
Love the food, was visiting family for a week and we ate here daily. Awesome dinner options like Mac and cheese, curry tofu along with rice and peas. Also, they have the grill menu for vegan burgers, soy chicken sandwiches and more. The con is that when you call to place your order the phone line is always busy and when they do pick up they are rude. Also they always run out of food, so you gotta place your order early.

Awesome Vegan Spot! - Edit
Veggie Castle is simply amazing! I treated myself to a large plate of the pepper chick’n with quinoa, steamed veggies, okra and chick peas. I love most if not all the selection of items on the menu. Such a large selection makes it hard to choose. The food is worth every bit of the $15.50 plus tax. Best believe I will be back very soon! You will enjoy this place, I guarantee it!

Vegan legend - Edit
Never has a bad meal here. Been coming here for two years and have enjoyed every single plate I’ve ever had. My first time having vegan Mac and cheese was from Veggie Castle and that experience was the catalyst for me becoming fully vegan soon after. My one concern is that their peanut punch has honey listed as an ingredient. The product is from Sybil’s (a non-vegan Caribbean restaurant around the corner) and I’m aware that some people consider honey vegan, but I felt that is something that should be pointed out to the general visitor of this place
