Vegetarisch Restaurant Iris

We went to this restaurant a couple of times now during the last years. Two weeks ago we went here on a fridaynight and sat outside in the small garden. We liked the menu but i wasn't happy with the food. It was such a small dish and the plat was filled with some boring salad that was also available at the saladbar. I think the desert was old and almost not eatable.
The woman who served us was nice, but very busy and someway we didnt feel free to give our honest feedback. I love the idea of this small restaurant, specially in eindhoven where theres not so much vegetarian stuff going on. But Iris is expensive and i think they could be a lot more creative.
I wish i loved it..

Iris is just a great little restaurant. 100% vegetarian and about 80% organic, tasteful food. Good atmosphere, friendly waitress, great cook. I have been there lots of times and will be back many times.
Just try it, you won't regret.

In an ordinary street you find an amazing vegetarian restaurant! I was very surprised,it is excellent food and the plates are creative , much to choose on the map, biological, lovely wines also. The service was nice and friendly. Price is right and the restaurant is cosy and warm.You will see me again!!

For people who are not accustomed to eating vegetarian it might be a great place, but we did not like it. The dishes we found not too exciting, and when we looked inside just one day earlier (when it was closed) there was a wheelie bin in the middle of the restaurant and got the dirty dishes still on the table (dirty coffee cups, etc.). We were not surprised and found the food boring, what we eat vegetarian at home is better than here. The interior is cozy, all you're pretty close together. We will not go back here.

It's a pity we have to give 2 cows because it is vegetarian. (vegetarian restaurants get at least 2 cows at happycow).

Iris is an exemplary vegetarian restaurant. It has been in Eindhoven for more than 25 years and it's still run by the same owner, Ineke Stevens, the cook.
Menu changes every week, but some successful dishes are always available. I have had diner at Iris a lot of times ever since the early eighties and the cooking has only become better. Food is always fresh; a salad bar is available with every main dish.
Iris has limited seating, so making a reservation can be useful. The restaurant has two major setbacks: 1) it is open only on thursdays, fridays and saturdays from 5 p.m. & 2) it is very hard to find, in a small street.
The owner's husband Jan Stevens is a book publisher specialising in cookbooks and vegetarian guides.

Nice atmosphere, good service and excellent food! The food is fresh and menu changes regularly. Would like to go back for sure. Making reservations before would be a good idea as the place fills up pretty quick. Definite thumbs up!

Nice quiet atmosphere, friendly service - good food and a great price! the menu changes frequently - there is some standard entrees and such but there is also a weekly change in the menu - i remember i had this arrangement of food - of all kinds of foods - it was a bit of this and a bit of that like onion rings, beets, etc. my husband had some spicy banana chutney and something Indonesian that went with it. the portions were good i didn't feel like there was not enough food - it was plenty - but not too much either. yum yum. i'd probably go there again.
