Good Vegan Options - Edit
We went for an evening meal here last week. The menu is mainly all vegan and the dishes that we had were really good. It's very popular even on a Tuesday evening so maybe worth booking. The staff were very friendly and helpful and if you struggle with Spanish there are English language menus.

Cheap and good. - Edit
There is really cheap. 2 main meals, 1 big glass of orange juice and 1 glass of water with lemon we paid 18,70€! Food is good. Man who works there speak enough English and can explain what is vegan.

Nice vegetarian place - Edit
Good place with friendly staff. They had a offered a 3-course meal, and you could choose between two or three different main courses as well as several different first courses. It all tasted very well, but maybe a bit too much only vegetables for some.

Tous très copieux.
Encore une fois la preuve que l'on mange bien et à sa faim dans les restaurants végétariens.
Personnel très accueillant, prenant le temps d'expliquer le contenu des plats.
Bravo !

Huge portion, not overly vegan friendly - Edit
All vegetarian but only a few vegan options. Having said that, you only need one and I had work fried rice and vegetables. It was a huge portion and absolutely delicious. Friendly staff and nice restaurant.

Weiter so!

Good - Edit
Great menu with many vegan options and staff that is very helpful and also offers to veganize dishes. Also the other regular dishes all sounded great and were affordable. A bit too much oil on everything and everyone but me got an appetizer for free which was annoying. Service was a bit slow but ok.

Delicious vegan options and great service - Edit
This was my first time eating at a Malaga vegan restaurant and it was very easy to get to, as a visitor in the city. I had a beautiful quinoa salad, pasta bolognese, and a coffee with soy milk. The portions were very filling and the food was absolutely delicious. Waiters were kind and knowledgeable when asked about vegan options.

Boring - Edit
Probably the most boring vegetarian restaurant. Well, beetroot gazpacho was good. But all the rest we had was really so-so. I feel sad fir vegetarians in Malaga, because this place is described as ‘best vegetarian place in the city’.

Not what I expected - Edit
I read some positive comments. However I personally was not very satisfied. The servers seem nice, however the restaurant is noisy. Some vegan options, but many more vegetarian options. The ajoblanco is delicious. The potaje also very good. However, i did not like the eggplant, nor the pasta with pea sauce. The croquetas with spinach was... ok...

Ok - Edit

Pros: Équipe sympathique , Un alejo blanco trop bon!, Un resto uniquement veggie/ vegan

Good choice of options - Edit
I really enjoyed my meal here. I was able to try traditional Spanish food I had not tried before (Garlic Soup) as well as more traditional dishes (Seitan and potatoes). Vegan range was good too, I wasn't limited to just one option, and I was also catered for at dessert (rice pudding).

Menu is good value, and although Vegetariano El Calafate is not easy to find, I would highly recommend it

Really good food. I had rice with pesto and tofu, my friend had a vegan burger (he´s not vegetarian). Both of us loved the food.

Excellent food and service - Edit
We had gazpacho and ajo blanco for starters, moussaka and courgettes as main course and a persimmon dessert. Delicious! The staff was helpful and we had no problem getting soy free vegan food. The only vegan dessert on the menu contained soy, but they offered us one that wasn't on the menu.

Amazing and affordable! - Edit
What a gem in the heart of Malaga! A starter, main course and a dessert for 9,70e. I had the asian soup, soy meat maroccon style with potatoes and a lemon tart, and they were all amazingly delicious! The staff were really helpful and they had menus in English too. One of my favorite vegetarian restaurants, highly recommended!

AMAZING - Edit
Cheap for 3 courses, food was great, vegan stuff wasn’t labelled but the staff knew them off by heart. I finished a plate and it was instantly taken away and replaced by another. Top notch service.

Decent and dissapointing at the same time - Edit
El Calafate is located in Malaga's city center, a place full of tourists and overpriced mediocre restaurants, a category in which I think it might fall.
Read moreWe ordered the daily menu, consisting of two starters, two main dishes and two desserts (approx. 10 euro not including any drinks). We had the gazpacho and ajoblanco as starters and they were good, but the main dishes were not so nice. The pasta was overcooked and underseasoned, making it a very bland dish, and the stuffed eggplant was better but it was a bit underseasoned too. The only vegan dessert was the rice pudding with soy milk which was tasty and sweet.

not really impressed - Edit
The place was almost empty, just two couples sitting there and the waiter made us to sit right next to them in a very tight corner with no privacy and room for chairs while the whole restaurant and all tables were empty. Nice to find vegan options on the menu but I wasn't really impressed with how it tasted. Got a mushroom chickpeas curry for starter, which didn't taste nice at all plus it was more like a main.. and then dry pasta with some veg in tomato sauce which was very basic, kind of like right from a bolognese jar. Rice pudding as a desert, which I didn't even finish-not nice..

dairy or eggs in most items - Edit
The only vegan main dish had peanuts, which I'm allergic too. I did have a delicious vegetable vegan soup, served with gluten-free bread (stale), and an eggplant dip served with greens (wilted and definitely not fresh). I would give the place a second chance, but overall so far I'm very unimpressed. The price and portion sizes were good, however.
