Very Poor quality shoes - stop shopping here - Edit
I am sorry to say that after shopping at Veg Shoes for over 15 years I am telling you that the shoes are very poor quality, very expensive and the owner appears completely indifferent (and always unavailable) to my kind and supportive comments. In the last 2 years I have had to twice return boots within one month of very light use because the sole had worn off completely: £90 each time. I have stopped buying black tennis shoes as they wear out within 8 weeks. By the way I am hardly heavy: around 140 pounds. The belts are in tatters within weeks and they carry on stocking the same line year after year. You will get your money back . But the staff who seem to be in a permanent dream distracted state and any efforts to get them to change their practice meets with blind dazed eyes. I have many times tried to speak to the owner - who used to have his cute 'founding story' on his leaflets. It's a rip off - selling shoddy goods and trading on an 'ethical' platform. Don't buy here until they change their ways.
Pros: Hard to say. The idea was good originally
Cons: Shoddy shoes that last less than 6 weeks, Indifferent owners, No improvement despite frequent assertivecomplaint

Veggie/Vegan feet attire - Edit
I always go to this shop when down visiting friends. You can try the shoes on which for me is a bonus as I wear orthotics insoles and need to check how they fit as some styles i need a bigger size.
They last well and are the build is good quality, my podiatrist thought they were very supportive.
You can buy on line too, but it's nice to visit the shop if you're in Brighton.
They stock other faux leather items like belts too.
Check opening times as can be shut at odd times on certain days.
Pros: You can try the shoes on before you buy, They stock a wide range & styles., Helpful staff
Cons: Can be closed at odd times., No discounts for vegsoc/ vegan soc members

Very kind and patient seller.
A lot of choice for ethical shoes, men and women unisex shoes. Hemp items.
We wear our "vegetarian shoes" EVERY day at work for several years. Very comfortable.
If you work standing all day long and if your feet hurt, the vegetarian shoes help a lot !!!
Excellent manufacturing.
Only one thing : we would like to see more feminine item, with high heel please...
Pros: friendly staff, ethical items

Boots 'N' All - Edit
Excellent shop that stocks a large variety of boots, shoes and trainers as well as accessories such as belts, satchels, insoles and polish. We visited the store whilst in Brighton where my wife bought a pair each of black airseal boots and para boots. Both are very sturdy and comfortable. If you cannot visit the store you can also order online. Some people may say the products are slightly expensive but the fact that no animals are killed in the process makes it well worth it.
Pros: Excellent Choice, Excellent Quality & Comfort, Friendly, helpful staff
Cons: Slightly expensive

Lovely little shop - Edit
Went to Brighton for the weekend and found this shoe shop. So pleased as being a vegan and not wearing leather I find it hard to find a good shoe. Lovely helpful staff nothing to much for them and my husband who is a size 12 got himself some boots, amazing as most normal shoe shops never have his size. Will be buying from them again.
Pros: Had the sizes in shop., Helpful staff., Nice area to shop.
Cons: Need more shoes.

great boots - Edit
i've used vegetarian shoes for years now, not that frequently as my shoes last for ages.
i presently have a chelsea boot and a 3 eye airseal, three and five tears old. the soles are getting thin now and need replaced soon, but the uppers are still in great shape.
i fancy a retread boot next.
only used online, but always had great service.
Pros: no meat, long lasting, great service

high quality vegan shoes - Edit
Vegetarian Shoes make the best quality vegan shoes in the world. They are well made from strong materials that are really resilient and will serve you for many years. Nice little shop to showcase their collection. Staff were very helpful. My only criticism is that the shoes tend to be punky/gothic or very 'sensible' it would be nice if they offered a broader range to suit everyone fir all occasions.

Fantastic boots by mail order! - Edit
I've never been to their physical shop, but I have ordered some boots from them from their online shop. The online shop is easy to use and understand, and once I had ordered the boots from them they arrived quickly and well-packaged. The boots themselves are their own work/safety boots and are of a very good quality.
Pros: All vegan, ethical shoes!, Easy to use web order service, Great quality

Highly Disapointed Customer - Edit
I don't know how the retail store compares to the customer service and judgement of the corporate staff, but this is no way to run a company. A long story short, no responsibility was taken for an obvious mis-sizing of shoes (2 sizes too big!!! I based it off of the sizing charts provided as well as a pair of boots I already own that fit precisely) and customer service was extremely unhelpful in trying to help with shipping costs for an already very expensive replacement shoe. I ended up contacting Moo shoes in New York (they carry the brand as well as several other vegan brands), they were extremely helpful and managed to work something out for me. Buy your shoes from them instead!!!!
Pros: Well made shoes, Ethical Manufacturing
Cons: Terrible customer service

Vegan shoes! - Edit
The shop is very small but lovely all the same.
I have Airseal steel-toe shoes, bought them in 2005. I wear them every autumn and winter, and they still look very good. The quality is excellent.
Pros: It's all vegan, Friendly staff, Cool!
Cons: It's a very small place

A Brighton Institution! - Edit
We love the veggie shoes shop, been going in for years. I always need to try shoes and boots on before I buy so the mail-order companies don't work for me at all. The shop workers all seem really friendly and committed, providing advice and happy to scurry off to find different sizes / insoles etc. These days the shop has a wide range of shoes, sandals and boots (including the gorgeous New Rock ones). They also do belts, jackets, and so on.
Pros: Try on before you buy, Staff are helpful and friendly, Veggie company
Cons: Not open Sundays, Bank Hols

Excellent vegan shoes made in Europe - Edit
I had known Vegetarian Shoes as a brand long before I had the opportunity to go to their only shop location in August 2011.
It's a small shop but truly wonderful: I had a *choice* of shoes that I could try on, all vegan! I bought a pair of sneakers: the "Aztec Shoe" and it's my absolute favorite pair of shoes. I wear it nearly every day. They're comfortable, breathable, and perfect to wear even in rainy weather (as long as it's not pouring).
The only fault I could find with the shop was that there were no women's shoes over the (EU) size of 42. They have a collection of unisex shoes (in bigger sizes) though.
It was so much better than ordering online! So if you are in the area it's definitely worth a little detour to Brighton and dropping in at the Infinity Foods Cafe directly opposite of Vegetarian Shoes afterwards for some cake - well, that's at least what I did.
Pros: all vegan, friendly staff, selection of unisex shoes in big sizes
Cons: women's shoes only up to (EU) size 42
