Hawker stall on middle floor of Central Market on the waterfront. Standard buffet fare, has rice or noodles plus a mix of local and Chinese style dishes. Reported closed August 2022.

Central, cheap, but not kept hot

This stall is on the first floor (or second, if you speak American) of the central market on the waterfront. As you enter the mall, go up one flight of stairs and find the "food court" (not signposted as such, but look around) and look for the stall with the "vegetarian" sign.

The veg stall offers about 8-10 dishes. The only issue is that they don't keep the dishes warm here, which can be a health problem after 45 minutes or so, so ask them to heat your food up thoroughly if you're concerned about your health.

Chinese buffe

The best food in Malaysia and Indonesia is the street and mall food! This food stall is plain vegetarian so don't worry about fish sauce or chicken flavor! Really nice!
If this one is closed you should try some of the other food stalls instead! Dont get scared of all the meat (even thow it looks nasty) they always have really good Tempe, pickles and water spinach who often is vegan. Just ask so they don't cook it in fish sauce.

Pros: total vegan, cheep, lokal

Cons: no raw vegetables
