Basic Thai vegetarian food

This restaurant changed hands a few years ago. It is now run by a lone woman who does not speak any English. The selection is not as good as it used to be. It is the basically the same pre-prepared dishes every day, i.e. gaeng som, gaeng phet and mixed vegetables, plus one or two dishes that change. The tom yum made with banana plant and coconut milk is very good. Sometimes she has mock meat like moo daeng (red pork), moo wan (sweet pork) and duck.
I have been here quite a number of times as I used to work nearby. She isn't always there but leaves the shop open. I helped myself and left money. Very limited selection after 3pm.

Pros: Cheap - rice and two curries for 30 baht

Cons: Out of the way for most tourists

OK

Basic shophouse set up. Some days better than others on terms of choices available. Not worth going out of the way for if staying central, but not bad. Two dishes on rice is 30 baht - decent amount of food too.

Pros: cheap, fair portion sizes

Cons: limited choice sometimes
