A nice surprise whilst cooling down at Big Buddha - Edit
A nice spot to grab some free food whilst up to see big Buddha. Seems to be enjoyed by the locals far more than the hoards of tourists, but is open to everyone. Although we saw nobody giving a donation at the box by the seating area, we chose to donate.
Read moreYou pick up a bowl and spoon from the drying rack and then take as much as you like from the small buffet area. The food was quite salty, but otherwise good. Once finished, you wash up the bowl and spoon and leave them on the drying rack for the next person. There was also an urn of ice cold water, if you don't want to buy a bottle from the nearby stall.
Queue for food was short and the seating area wasn't too busy at lunchtime on a Sunday.
Pros: Free, Tasty, Minimal waste
Cons: Salty
