CLOSED: Vegemesta - Vaasankatu

Only 20 min walk from city centre, friendly cook in small cafe - couldn't imagine how they get more then 5 people in there at any time. We were the only 3 there except a couple sitting at the only table outside. Small but I like this about it - just laid back quick service sort of style, as same for the menu - burgers, hot dogs etc (vegan of course). Vegan burger (hemp) was really really good - one of the best I've had, and the vegan mayo so yum! My sister who is a meat eater had another vegan burger and she said it was the best burger she's ever had in her life. She raved about it while we walked home and even told the chef that herself. Really good - fresh - glad we went :)

One of my Hungarian friends, very devoted to meat, said that this is the best vegetarian meal he ever had. I really like this place. Easy and quick.

I really liked Vegemesta to start of, but they just kept getting slower and slower! Once we had to wait 45 mins and still got the wrong food... Theur home delivery servive is a bit of a joke too... I moved to Helsinki last year really excited for get some good vegan fast food in town, I knew that this place was already opened, I went there and what I got was a salty burger, really small one and expensive, the kitchen looks like a mess and I think the guy who works out there is not even into vegetarian diet.

Had one day in Helsinki, and went to both the Vegemesta locations. Both were great, fairly small inside but chairs and tables outside to grab a quick bite. If you are vegan and in Helsinki, go here. Really tasty food.

A hippie like athmosphere, where not everybody can fit inside to wait at rush hours. The fillings are good and mainly vegan, but what I never stop wondering is the usage of "Vaasan ruispalat" which is like the cheapest bread in the country. Am waiting they will one day upgrade to some real, maybe more local bread as the price would already indicate... In the meanwhile it is what it should be.

Best veggieburgers that you can get from Helsinki. Really tasty with many different options. The only real problem is that there no possibility to eat at the spot. But as a take away / fast food place this is nearly perfect.

Me and my partner had burgers here and I must say that it was the best fast food vegan burger I've had. And not even that expensive, the burgers are around 5 euros.

There was a small table and two chairs outside and since we were the only customers we even could sit while eating!

I visited Vegemesta and had my best hemp burger ever. Nice place, but you cannot sit inside - have to stand while eating. They have also some good drinks, I had a herb beer (nonalcoholic), good;)

I recommend this place for everyone. Try rye bread, it's much better than white bread. And it's not even that fatty, but of course it tastes like fast food.

Vegemesta is small and sometimes crowded but friendly. Burgers are very good and depite being "fast food" I think quite healthy compared to other fast foods. You can choose rye bread, which is even more healthy. They have a spicy sauce to the burgers which I think is great. In addition to burgers there is the delicious potatoes and nuggets portion that will satisfy a larger hunger. I warmly recommend vegemesta despite the location not being the most convenient for me at least.

Relaxed, laid back atmosphere. Note that this is a take away, so there are really no seats and tables for sitting down and eating. If you are looking for a low fat healthfood, this is not your place. If you want a tasty and ethical fast food alternative, this is your place.
