Restaurant & grocery store - Edit

We had dinner here one Sunday and they said they only had a "private kitchen" menu, which was around 250 per person ( 10% service charge) for 8 courses.
There were a wide selection of food including hot and cold starters, Chinese soup, entrees and dessert. Dishes contained mock meats. All very flavorful and delicious. Most dishes were shared but there was more than enough food for all of us.
They also have a large vegetarian grocery store next to the restaurant.

Pros: Good food, Vegelink supermarket

Cons: Expensive, No Alacarte option for dinner

Smart Chinese restaurant - Edit

This place is fairly easy to find on Java Road - there is a sign overhead and pictures at the entrance, directing you upstairs.

The restaurant is one of the smarter vegetarian Chinese options with a nice calm setting.

Having read one of the previous reviews, I wasn't sure how well they would understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan, but the lunch a la carte menu clearly indicates which items have dairy, and which ones can be made without dairy.

I had some vegetarian Chinese buns which were delicious, and a spicy stir fried tofu dish (similar to mapo tofu texture), also tasted good. I would go back again to try more options.

They have a small shop attached, with items similar to that in Batata Greens (sauces, frozen dumplings, frozen vegan fake meats, vegetarian instant noodles, seaweed etc).

Pros: Tasty, friendly service

Vegelink, Hong Kong - Edit

That was a little bit different. I rocked into this joint this evening. I was told that they only do a la carte for lunch, in the evening its the set menu which was hk$198. 10% service charge was also added but that may not apply on weekdays (I've no idea).

I asked if they could do food without eggs, milk and honey. I was told that some of the things on the set menu would have to be changed to suit me but it wouldn't be a problem.

It was lots of small thing, maybe a dozen different courses, all very impressively presented. This is no cheap and cheerful offering, its aimed a bit further up the market than that.

Way too much whey! - Edit

Great concept.

Lovely unit.

They have invested a lot of money in the business.

......but many of their products contain whey from cows - so buy & eat with caution.
