Hidden gem - Edit
Although it is tucked away in a residential area this place is a hidden gem! It is a cozy restaurant with only 5 tables inside ( many picnic tables outside). The lovely soft jazz music and friendly owner husband made us feel at home. We got the Soulfood plate and a Reuben with home fries which were both excellent, as was the cheesecake. The sorrel (jamaicain beverage from hibiscus) was delicious-like a fruit juice with hint of cinnamon. We also liked the ginger beer. We talked with the owner wife/chef as well. Such nice people and such good food.

Miss southern food? Look no further! - Edit
I needed southern food, but was busy working, so decided to see who delivered to my area. I saw this place and started looking at the reviews and the menu.
Read moreBoom, my eyes see fried chicken, mac and cheese, and greens....and cheesecake.
I have to order.
20 minutes later I am scarfing down.
This is the best vegan mac and cheese, other than my own obviously, I've had. And the ranch was so bomb when dropping the chicken in it!
Do not get me started on the creamiest cheesecake known to man.
If you havent gone, you're missing out!
Pros: Southern, Lots of vegan option, Mac and cheese
Cons: None.

Best pancakes & people! - Edit
But the pancakes... So perfectly crispy and soft, not dry, great coffee, the vegan sausage tasted like the real thing. And the owners made it feel like we were having breakfast in their family kitchen. We'll definitely be back!

Amazing soul food restaurant. The spicy chicken platter was fantastic and all of the sides were incredible. My parter got a burger and fries and also loved his food. The fresh ginger beer was a must-try! Definitely try this vegan version of a super authentic soul food joint!

Great food, great people - Edit
You have to love a vegan brunch spot on a rainy Saturday. This family restaurant does it right, with lots of pancake options, veggie sausage, grits, and tofu, you will walk away full and happy. I spent some good time talking with one of the owners, Kevin. Nashville is lucky to have Vege-Licious Cafe!

What a find! - Edit
This is the kind of place I spend my life looking for. I travel a lot and it’s very rare to come across food this good, especially at this price. I had the hot chicken plate, yams, vegan mac, and roasted potatoes. Everything was delicious. After eating I met the owners and they were very nice, caring people who take pride in their business. I’ll be back anytime I’m in Nashville.

Absolutely delicious, somewhat out of the way restaurant and well worth the trip - Edit
This restaurant is well worth the trip off the beaten path to find a wonderfully flavorful meal. There are vegan soul food options. This is one of the best southern vegan meals I have had in 2 years of enjoying vegan eating.

Cute place. I grabbed take out for my wife and I. - Edit
She got the blt poboy, she like it, a bit sweeter than she expected and fairly messy, in the end not her personal favorite. Good size servings. I snagged the hot chicken sandwich, not a lot of spice, but otherwise loved it. The hike fries needed a bit of seasoning.

Cons: The layout/order for picking up Togo food was odd

Great southern food - Edit
We really miss good southern cooking like fried chicken being vegan, and this place definitely hit the spot! I got the regular chick’n plate while my husband got the Nashville hot. Both were great. My 4 year old got the bbq tofu and loved it (and he’s super picky about his precious tofu!). The inside seating area is small, but there are plenty of picnic tables under a tent outside. Everyone working there was super friendly and welcoming. This will definitely be a regular stop for us on our annual trip south to the beach!

Big menu, delicious food! - Edit
I had the soul chicken plate. The “chicken” was so good, better than any vegan chicken I’ve ever had! The ranch was amazing. The mac and cheese was good, it’s got the nooch flavor of you like that too. I’m not big on collard greens but my dad (non veg) ate them and liked them. The home fries were delicious. Ginger beer is a must. Salad with fake-bacon was so sooooo good. And the blueberry bread pudding and coconut ice cream was a fantastic finish to a wonderful meal! Only con is the limited seating and the pricing was a bit high.

Drove to Nashville for a concert and just had to try the place out. I really enjoyed the hot chicken and potatoes (oh man the potatoes). Had a great time. The place uses disposable plastic cups and silverware which I thought was strange.

I’m so glad we visited Vege-licious! This lovely little spot is tucked away but needs to be discovered by everyone (vegans and non-vegans). We went for specifically for pancakes and were not disappointed by the fluffiest pancakes accompanied by home fries and vegan sausage. Highly recommended food plus run by a truly lovely couple.

Soooooooo Delicious! - Edit
I came here for breakfast with a friend of mine(not vegan) when I visited Nashville. I got the blueberry compote pancakes, tofu scramble and breakfast potatoes; he got pancakes as well. These were the fluffiest and lightest pancakes I've had...PERIOD. We even tried the sorrel which was really refreshing. The owners are a lovely black couple and can't wait to visit again.

Small but soulful - Edit
We got the soulchik plate and soulchick plate hot, a hot chicken sandwich and the chocolate cheesecake. I really loved the hot chicken options - the fried chicken was a little chewy. The cheesecake and potatoes were real good!! I loved the mac and cheese but my friends didnt as they found it a bit rich. The staff were really nice but the place is so small she seemed a little overwhelmed as it was kinda busy when we visited and everyone was inside as it was raining. We also had a bit of a mishap with our ranch and received no compensation or anything but I think our server was a little flustered - as were we. Mixed opinions from our group but I loved it!

AMAZING - Edit
Amazing food and service! This is one of those rare gems that shouldn’t be missed, vegan or not. I’m vegan and took my 70~ year old nonvegan parents while we were in town for a family trip. I had been dying for their take on a Philly Cheesesteak sandwhich and their INCREDIBLE Mac N Cheese. So good! The sandwhich flavor was amazing and you’d never find a creamier, better tasting mac in the city. My mom had a salad with coconut bacon that she loved (I would kill to have some in Cincinnati) and my dad loved his BBQ chickn sandwhich. Our server was incredibly kind and friendly to us and everyone in the dining room without hovering or neglecting tables. Our food arrived quickly, and for the price the portions were great. I wish it hadn’t been 98 degrees so we could have sat outside in their gorgeous picnic area. I can’t wait for my next Nashville trip, heck, I’d make the 4~ hour drive just for this place!!
