Lovely decor, nice food, but long wait

The decor is really fabulous: spacious, beautifully renovated monastery. It now houses a hotel, wellnes and restaurant.
Really relaxed and comfortable setting.

Very friendly service.

The menu of the restaurant is not very extensive. A set menu or a la carte dishes, with some vegan options. Although it is described here as fine dining, I wouldn't call a risotto or couscous tabouleh with grilled vegetables gastronomic dishes. But it is something else than burger with sweet potato fries😉

We had
The 3 course menu (43€):
- amuses, courgette soup, truffle risotto, dessert (moulleux with sorbet), and candy (verwenbordje)

and a la carte:
- red beet carpaccio (without the goat cheese) 16€
- couscous tabouleh with grilled vegetables 20€
- dessert (moulleux with sorbet) 13€

Really sharp price for the menu. Everything was delicious. Risotto was really creamy (but very small portion).
Would have loved to have a vegan 'goat cheese' with the carpaccio (especially since paying the same price). Or some proteins like tempeh or seitan to give the dishes more bite.

We had a nice lunch, but it was a really long wait, which was annoying. We arrived just before 12, and only got the mains at 1.30 ... Then it took about 40 minutes for the desserts.
So we didn't stay for coffee anymore.

PS: We got a bread roll with the starter, it came with butter - we then got olive oil. It does also make me question whether they pay notice to the crackers with the amuses or the ingredients of the bread buns.

Smaakvol eten

Lekker eten, altijd een driegangenmenu vegan menu beschikbaar. De bediening was vanavond niet top helaas. Het was heel rustig (4 tafels) maar ze stond steeds in de keuken te kletsen en uiteindelijk maar 1 drankje gehad en 45 minuten gewacht op het dessert.

Pros: Vegan menu, Mooi restaurant, goede stijging

Cons: Bediening niet echt bereikbaar

Lekker vegan verfijnd eten!

Het restaurant is fully veggie met enkele vegan opties.
Helaas ontbrak wat inspiratie voor een vegan dessert.
Het meisje die opdiende was wel niet altijd op de hoogte vd ingrediënten (veggie of vegan) maar dubbelcheckte altijd met de keuken.
Het eten zelf is super lekker, smaken zitten perfect :-)
