Tasty!

The first time I went to the VegaVerso, I was already stuffed from another vegan restaurant in Leuven. So there was only room for desserts.

And they were gooooood! Different tastes of vegan ice cream, chocolat sauce, chocolat nibs, cookies,... It was pure heaven.

I went back on a later time and had some of the main dishes. They were tasty as well, although I learned I'm less less of a faux-meat lover. Give me seitan an tempeh any day, but the newer creations out there taste somewhat too meaty for my palate.

Conclusion: great food, lot's of choices (desserts!) and friendly people at the counter.

Pros: Great desserts, Tasty desserts!, Yummy desserts!!

Cute vegan cafe

I loved the cute vegan wall of quotes and pictures in this place, though it could come across a little cheezy at times (see what I did there)
The atmosphere was amazing only to be topped by the outstanding selection of sandwiches and other cafe-style food. I highly recommend going for the 'special' hot chocolate if you have a chance to visit (it's a sort of make your-own hot chocolate kit with some cake) They also let you pick the type of milk you want in it (soy/almond/rice)
Run by a lovely mother and daughter team.

Pros: Great food, atmosphere, Better options than most omni cafes

fantastic sandwiches and very pleasant atmosphere

As someone previously wrote here they do have a fantastic and very creative selection of vegan sandwich spreads and combinations. They start at €3.50 with the cheese and veganaise. I had the curry seitan one with extra rucola (several other extras and 5 types of bread available) for around €5. It was big, fresh, delicious and very filling. Besides that there are several cakes and pastries on offer such as for example brownies, croissants, cup cakes, pralines (€2-€4 price range) and also a couple burgers and tapas options. Friendly, family like atmosphere, tasty food and lovely interiors that invite to relax and enjoy your food. There's also a mini shop inside and several vegan related books to read. Loved it.

Pros: friendly and pleasant vibe, awesome sandwich combinations , not expensive

Perfect!

Very cozy café with cute and comfortable interior and friendly owners. The food was AMAZING, great choice in sandwiches (very original!) and hot beverages. Prices are very reasonable considering portion sizes and quality. The best thing, of course: you can order anything you want, it's all vegan!

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Best vegan brunch ever

When people say that vegans eat rabbitfood, they've never been to Vegaverso. It's really delicious, the service is great and you don't leave hungry! Went there for a sandwich and bruch and it was the best I ever had! Good work you're doing there!

Disappointing

I have given this place 4 chances
First - an oreo muffing - Real good!
Second - bite back sandwich - Way too spicy even for spicy loving people.
Third - Indian sandwich - not a nice taste. Too big pieces with a very strange texture
Fourth - "chicken curry" - taste okay, not good.I really felt sick afterwards.

Very sad. We were so happy with a vegan sandwich bar in Leuven. But we're just going to come back for pies.

Pros: Oreo Muffin, Friendly, Nice interior

Cons: taste is not good, too spicy sometimes, opening hours are not good for me

Dear Jolien, too bad you didn't say anything when you where dissapointed WHILE you were here.If you thought the Bite Back sandwich was too spicy ( although we've been asked to add more chili by some people- tastes do differ apparently) we gladly would have made you a less spicier one.Our Indian sandwich is one of the most popular ones ,and we even have customers that come back for it several times a week :-) again..I guess tastes can differ a lot ....As for the SEITAN curry ....maybe you have a problem with gluten? Because we can assure you , everything is made fresh on a daily basis. Please next time you visit do not hesitate to speak up and voice your complaints while we still have a fair chance to offer a solution...seems way more fair than this bad review ( wich is the first one , next to a lot of compliments we get ;-) but still...we would have liked to make you a happy customer too )

Great sandwiches, amazing cakes.

We visited this place 4 times in two day trips to Leuven – two lunches and two “how about a coffee and cake before we get the train?” excuses to go back. It does two things, but does them innovatively and very well. It serves a huge and tempting range of toppings on a selection of breads and then serves a selection of excellent cream cakes and cup cakes. In terms of savoury food, there’s a choice of a(very big) baguette (my favourite), less exciting flat spelt bread and a couple of others. With those you choose from about 15 (from memory) cold toppings ranging from relatively obvious but tasty things like “mexican” “indian” to unusual like a vegan scrambled egg version with tofu and kala namak (great) and a gyros one (interesting, though perhaps a fraction over salty). It only opened within the fortnight of our visit, but was already obviously known to the locals in this trendy and pretty university city, and was clean and smart, and a nice place to sit and watch the world go by. Menus were only in Flemish (cue a bit of looking up ingredients) but I guess that might change shortly and everything is vegan anyway so you can afford to roll the dice. And then the cakes: cup cakes, excellent, but the Tompoes – out of this world. Apparently it’s a Flemish/Dutch speciality but not one that I assume has previously been vegan-accessible, not to me anyway. If you don’t know what a Tompoes is, look it up, and you will see why the vegan world is now a better place.

Pros: Unusual food, Cream Cakes!, Nice premises

Cons: None

thank you ! We do have English menus now ;-) we hope you will visit again one day because next to the vegan tompoes, in a few days we will also sell vegan 'neuzekes'. They are a yummie Belgian candy speciality too and very hard to find in the vegan version :-)
