From Prague Castle to a little royal vegan feast - Edit
After wandering around Prague Castle, make sure to stop by Prague Vegan Restaurant. Somehow, this place feels like a natural continuation of the whole castle experience, with its mysterious staircases, hidden corners, and panoramic views.

For those of us who grew up in the post-Soviet world, it’s a little nostalgic journey. And for those whose childhood happened far away from the Soviet Union, it’s a lovely opportunity to discover traditional Czech flavours, just without the meat.
We ordered the vegan goulash, which is my personal recommendation.
And, rather unexpectedly, the lasagna. Although, to be fair to Italians everywhere, calling it lasagna might be a bit of a stretch. Still, it was genuinely delicious, light, and nicely balanced in terms of nutrients. Perhaps it deserves a different name, if only for the sake of Italian culinary justice, so told by my Italian husband 🫰
Be careful when ordering, though. The portions are seriously generous.
The staff are helpful. Some are wonderfully smiley and welcoming, while a few ladies seem to have reached that stage of the day when smiling is no longer on the menu. But honestly, it doesn't spoil the experience.
The space itself, as I mentioned earlier, is quite fascinating. Lots of staircases, unexpected turns, and the feeling of being inside a fairytale house where a little adventure might be waiting around every corner.
And if you're lucky enough to visit on a rain-free day, you can enjoy the beautiful views from the terrace.
Unfortunately, the desserts didn't manage to tempt us, mainly because the ones we wanted were already unavailable by the time we ordered. The dessert selection is rather limited in general. But then again, not every meal needs a sweet ending.
Would I come back? Absolutely. Especially for the goulash, the atmosphere, and another little journey through this fairytale house.

this place is on a more pricy side but it is worth it!! they serve traditional vegan versions of local food and they where so good!! also the cake was fire and the location is so cute, it was rainy the day we went so we couldn’t sit in the small balcony but the view is amazing, sit there if you have the chance!

The only downsides for me are the prices, because it’s not the cheapest, and the fact that there’s a long walk to get there and then you have to go up quite a lot of stairs (so you should take that into account)

Disabled people stay away. The building is not accessible at all. Service was good, the food too, I had the special of the day which was a potato dumpling on a bed of red cabbage, even though I don't like red cabbage much, because I wanted to try something traditionally Czech. It was better than expected. Also had the cauliflower soup which was very yummy! And a delicious cocktail. Kinda pricy - you pay for the location.

Our first night in Prague and this was a winner. Awesome menu with vegan versions of Czech favorites. The food was super tasty, especially the eggplant starter and the goulash. Service was to notch. Be forewarned there are a lot of stairs to get up to the restaurant and then another set inside to get to the terrace. Well with it, though.

I really wanted to try traditional food while im Prague, so was really excited to find this place! The food is really hearty and filling. We had the "Potato goulash with red lentils, soy cubes, bell peppers" and "Svičková sauce with no-beef sirloin and bohemian dumplings"

O restaurante se especializa em fazer versões veganizadas de pratos locais. As adaptações são todas maravilhosas e muito saborosas. O Goulash e os dumplings são surpreendentes. A localização do restaurante é excelente, com uma belíssima vista da parte histórica da cidade. O único porém talvez seja o acesso para pessoas com mobilidade limitada, pois precisa subir alguns lances de escada pra chegar ao lugar.

I’m so pleased we have the Happy Cow app as we wouldn’t have found this gem otherwise. The restaurant is up three flights of stairs from a narrow street opening , but well worth the climb for a terrace view of the Palace. Strongly recommend booking a terrace table to get the best views. Lovely service and fairly priced.

It was good, and everyone was super friendly. I had the goulash, which seemed more Hungarian than Czech. It was tasty, but could have had a little more kick. The apple cake with vanilla sauce was delicious, but a bit dry.
