The deep-fried ravioli is a revelation. Worth the six-hour drive alone.

Delicious

Very relaxed, welcoming and laid back venue with great food and great service. I could have literally eaten everything on the menu in one sitting. That might just become my mission.

Amazing food, lovely staff.

We stopped here before the football without a booking and we were looked after by the friendly staff.

The food didn't take too long and was all absolutely beautiful. I had the Nduja pizza which was one of the best tasting pizzas I've ever had (and I eat a LOT of pizza).

The rest of my group had the doner kebab and the carbonara which were both exceptional too (also massive portions). We had the deep fried ravioli to share too which was great.

Honestly, I couldn't recommend this place enough. If you're anywhere near Newcastle, do yourself a favour and turn up here with an empty stomach and let them take care of you.

We will 100% be back again! Thank you

Pros: Amazing food, Great portion size, Friendly staff

Fantastic food and lovely to our little girl

We popped in late on a Weds lunchtime. I had a mixed kebab (really tasty, heavy on the garlic, just how I like it), my wife had the Dunston rocket burger (tasty and unique, lovely moist chick'n). The best part was that our 2-year-old decided that she would ask for "chippies and chick'n nuggets", and even though this wasn't on the menu, the lovely waitress and chef made it for us anyway! It was perfect and she really enjoyed it. Thank you so much Vegano and see you again soon

Pros: Took great care of our toddler, Super tasty food, unique vegan options, Everything hot and fresh

Very good pizzas and drinks

This place is medium-sized and has a toilet, but is unfortunately not wheelchair-accessible. The staff is friendly and serviceable.

We tried the Nduja pizza and the Quatro stagione, which were both tasty and with nice vegan cheese and crispy dough. The lychee martini and red smoothie were tasty as well. It’s a pity we didn’t have room for dessert, because they looked nice as well.

Huge portions of delicious food!

We turned up without a booking after an emotional day and were very kindly welcomed by the lovely waitress.

Decided to do as the locals do and ordered a Wor Dirty Doner and a burger.

The portions are huge! Beautifully prepared seitan, lots of salad and a perfect mix of chilli and tzatziki sauce.

The burger was similarly well garnished.

Despite being almost too full to move, we made the excellent decision to have dessert. The best cheesecake ever and a perfect tiramisu. Not too sweet, lots of coffee, creamy without being fatty.

Almost forgot to mention the bargain price, delicious wine. We shared a bottle of the house white. Worked beautifully with the food and I can't recommend it more.

Gem of a place - you must visit!

Pros: Local style food, Fabulous staff , Great value

Great vegan food!

Went with a group of 10 with no other vegans... everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and left with smiles on their faces and full bellies. Staff were lovely and accommodated our group without a booking on a Thursday evening despite having bookings. Kebab was good but nothing draw dropping, pizzas were great (forgot photos!). The ravioli and artichokes to start were superb!

Pros: 100% Vegan, Lovely Staff, Good variety on the menu

Very Vegan Dining

Everything is Vegan.

No awkward waiting for waiters to check what the restaurant uses to cook vegetables - or to confirm the origin of ingredients.

You can go here for breakfast, dinner, dates, cocktails, etc. It is a cruelty-free café & restaurant.

This isn't just a novelty for vegans.

The food here is fantastic.

(I particularly enjoyed the Nduja Pasta.)

The drinks are delicious.

(I adored the Cherry Bakewell Fizz.)

Be sure to book ahead - just in case - as it fills quite quickly. Our first visit was quiet whereas our second visit had people queuing out of the door!

It really is worth it regardless.

We came for a date and then again for our anniversary; both visits have been lovely and the choice of food & drink is excellent.

It can become quite hot here and the door is typically propped open, facing towards a busy road; better ventilation and a closed door will be a marked improvement. The music can be quite loud here. (perhaps to drown out the noise from outside).

Other than that, it is a fantastic place for vegans to enjoy a lovely meal/drink without the anxiety or difficulty attached to most 'omni' or non-vegan venues.

Pros: Fantastic Food, Delicious Drinks, 100% Vegan

Cons: Can Become Loud (Traffic/Music), Requires Better Temperature Regulation

There are no words

For how delicious this place is! Absolutely everything it fantastic. The restaurant itself is very simplistic but the food is anything but that. Hearty, comforting, filling, and delicious!

Lunch date w my best vegan friend

I recently had the best day ever planned - day off work, two films at the cinema and lunch sandwiched in between. It was the perfect opportunity to go to Vegano as none of my friends are Vegan so I could suit myself. I know a lot of places generally dislike solo diners so I booked a table pour une personne via their website so they had notice.
It's still a novelty to not have to search the menu for suitable options so I was so conflicted about what to order because I obviously wanted to get everything. Went for the BBQ Beast burger, which came with chips and was sooo good. The food service is really speedy here (and the server was nice), although it wasn't busy while I was there. I had a glass and a half of wine with my meal and then just as I was contemplating asking for the bill, the heavens opened and biblical rains appeared. Divine intervention - stay for a pudding. I almost went for a slice of cake I could see on the counter but I was intrigued by the pizzetta - sweet dough with ice cream, cream and Biscoff. Too much of a pig not go for it and no regrets because it was incredible. Mentally making a note of friends who could be persuaded to go so I can share my way through the starters but honestly, maybe I'll just keep going on my own. A present to me from me, I deserve it.

Vegano

Had difficulty locating the restaurant initially, Apple Maps takes you to the rear street. However I was glad to have persisted as this place was a real treat. I loved the menu, I could’ve happily tried everything. In the end I opted for two starters as the deep fried ravioli and the baked Camembert just sounded too tempting! Both were delicious and fresh. Staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. The restaurant interior is bright and welcoming, great spot for lunch or dinner. Look forward to returning one day and trying some other dishes on the menu.

Good food

Visited at lunch time, and got seated no problem, and got a burger option, served on a baking tray, unusual but I guess it saves on the washing up 😂.

Cons: No sandwich options

Worth the effort of locating the restaurant :)

It wasn't easy finding the venue but once we had it was worth the effort. For anyone else finding it difficult, the postcode takes you to a street behind the building Vegano is situated in. You need to go down on to the main road, down the side of another venue.
Friendly welcome and service, and a lovely menu.
I had the carbonara which was very tasty, not as moist as I'd have liked but still with the creamy taste and subtle flavours. I was too full to eat dessert there but had a take-out of the tiramisu. Later that night at the accommodation I enjoyed the delicious dessert. Will definitely be back with my fella who loves tiramisu.

Yummy vegan food

So I went for the pizza. But didn’t realise they don’t serve pizza til 4pm. But crisis averted, their other food is amazing!

I had the chicken kebab, and he had the Dunston rocket. Both really tasty. We’ll be back for that pizza!

Baked Camembert

The baked Camembert was fantastic! I also tried a doner - huge! - and a friend had the carbonara which she said tasted just like the “original”. Nice spot!

Delicious!

This is a cute little café with a great menu! There are so many things I would like to try on the menu and I would also definitely go back to try their breakfast and dessert menus. For starters me and my wife went for the Baked Camembert and Truffle Mac and Cheez (technically a side but we had it as a starter). The Baked Camembert was really tasty and I loved the Truffle Mac and Cheez which had a great truffle flavouring.

For our mains we got a Carbonara and The White Truffle Pizza. Both were excellent! I really enjoyed the carbonara – It was creamy and had a great flavour. The White Truffle Pizza was also delicious and I especially liked that it was made with sourdough which really elevated it.

They also had free breadsticks on all the tables which were a nice touch and really tasty!

Pros: Lots of variety, Delicious food, Supports animal sanctuaries
