Almost great - Edit
I have eaten from this food truck 4 times now, and every time i have tried a huge portion of the menu. As a longtime vegan, i know how it is to be soooo excited and want to rave about a place like this. And they are SO CLOSE to being amazing, but it’s just not quite there. I am ready to rave once they get a few things tightened up!!! Still very worth a visit as is.
Read moreWhat is not quite there for me:
- Pasta has always been overcooked; i order multiple pastas every time, and every one has always been a little on the soft side. I have never loved a pasta or gnocchi dish from here.
- Tomato sauce. Very sour and under salted. Salt would balance the acidity. If you order something in their red sauce, add some salt.
- Cannolis. The ricotta mixture is grainy and not creamy. And they taste oddly salty. A tiny bit more sugar would balance things out. Won’t order these again due to the texture.
What IS amazing:
- Pizza. Good god. Get it if you can (they don’t always have it).
- Arancini.
- Pizza fritte (although needs a little salt to help with the acidic tomato sauce).
- Fried dough (this one surprised me, but its perfectly crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, so good).
- Stuffed meatballs.
- Fried stuffed shells.
Pros: Several absolute home runs on the menu, Can order online in advance to skip the line
Cons: Pasta/gnocchi overcooked, Tomato sauce is really acidic and under salted , Cannolis are grainy and not creamy

So f****** amazing - Edit
I’m obsessed. The Utica Riggies is absolutely amazing. The portion is huge (might be enough for 3 meals) and it has sooo much flavor. The noodles tast very fresh and homemade. I don’t understand how they get the cheese that perfect and I swear the meatballs taste like meat.

Really Good Brunch! - Edit
Had the breakfast smoothie, Italian breakfast wrap, breakfast plate (chocolate chip waffles, hash browns, and bagel with cream cheese), and strawberry basil ricotta.
Read moreThe strawberry basil ricotta dip was incredible!!! And so unique. Perfect combo of savory and sweet. Highly recommend!
The wrap was savory and delicious.
The waffles and hash browns were great.
The bagel and cream cheese had a funky aftertaste - not sure if it was the bagel or the cream cheese. It was fine, but wouldn’t get that again.
For the smoothie, be aware that it’s basically just a blended plate of breakfast. Nothing frozen (no frozen fruit or ice), so it’s a room temp, chunky “drink.” Some people like this kind of smoothie (my husband loved it) but I do not, so I definitely would not get this again.
Overall, we loved our meal and can’t wait to come back for their dinner menu!
Pros: Good brunch food!, Friendly staff
Cons: Room temp smoothie, Bagel and cream cheese

Authentic, rich Italian made vegan - Edit
Vegano Italiano is wonderful. The dishes are truly authentic, fully vegan versions of your favorite Italian dishes. There is always a variety available, from ravioli to cannoli to pizza there's always something tasty to get. Also, breakfast!!! It's surprisingly and sadly challenging to get a decent vegan breakfast around Ann Arbor, so I love that Vegano has multiple breakfast items. The menu periodically changes to introduce new things, which is also great. The food is rich, for sure, but it is generally pretty minimally processed, which I appreciate.
Read moreThe owners are nice people as well. I've talked with them on several occasions. They were willing to make a bunch of pizzas for a birthday party on top of their busy schedule. They also are super friendly and make it a point to say hi and ask how I am. It's nice to have good food and good people to boot.
Pros: Novel food (for Ann Arbor), Fewer ingredients, Nice owners

Great food, friendly people - Edit
Really exceptional vegan Italian food made and served by really nice people! Pizzas are amazing—packed with toppings, with an excellent crust. Pasta dishes are great, with tons of variety and flavor. The cannolis would make Tony Soprano go vegan, 100%.

The best pizza I have ever had!!! - Edit
I still think about their pizza. I never knew pizza crust could be so light, fluffy and fried at the same time. It was decadent and yet wasn’t heavy. My friends and I also had their baked stuffed shells, fried stuffed shells, meatballs and cannolis which were all amazing. It was definitely the best vegan Italian food I’ve had on the whole. I had their food at Vegfest. Their location is far from me but I’d travel the 3 hours just for the pizza. Each member of my party had a different favorite of the items I mentioned and we passionately argued for why our favorite was the best 😂 The cannoli was up there for me too. I’d never had one before so having a vegan one was an experience. I will be back!!

Fantastic Food - Edit
We luckily ran into the Vegan Italiano food truck at the Ann Arbor art fair. We were discussing where we could go to potentially find a vegan option on the menu. Then bam we randomly found the Vegan Italiano food truck. We had the Chick’n pita, Utica riggies, bruschetta and arancini. The lady said that all the food is made from scratch and not using any processed ingredients and you could tell. It was all amazing, fresh and very flavorful. I’m usually oil free, but they used real olive oil in their cooking which I appreciate and am ok with for eating out. My daughters really enjoyed the chick’n pita. The chick’n in the pitas had the Boston Italian chicken Parmesan of before eating WFPB vegan. I would suggest making a chick’n parm option for the menu:) The sauce, Parmesan topping and veggies in the Utica riggies was spot on! The arancini and bruschetta appetizers we’re very yummy. The food truck got two thumbs up from all members of my family. Next time we’d like to try their mushroom risotto, stuffed shells and raviolis. They were all sold out. They did restock the truck as we were leaving so maybe check their social media. This was art fair so super busy. Highly recommend. This is a food truck worth tracking down:)

Some of the best vegan food in A2! Their pizza is some of the best I have ever had, like even from before my vegan days. The cannoli and stuffed shells are phenomenal too! Do yourself a favor, if you see the Vegano Italiano truck out, get yourself some!

All vegan Authentic Italian cuisine - Edit
Sooo many delicious options made from scratch using family recipes. Our favs are: Eggplant Parmesan sandwich (hasn’t been back since they moved from brick & mortar.) Arancini, Bruschetta & Summer Strawberry ricotta dip. & Rosie salad. Rosie’s homemade ricotta is out of this world! Another fav is the seasonal potato bites (can’t remember the actual name.) So good that even my picky eater loved them.

Satisfied the Italian food craving! - Edit
It’s hard finding these flavors made vegan! For my first experience here, I was pleased. (My parents were raving) We had the arancini and ravioli. No line, quick prep time, and they even brought the food to my car so I could sit while I waited. I’d definitely come back again.
Read moreThey also have an option on the menu called “Taste the Truck” which includes samples of the most popular items. Can’t wait to try it with friends!
Pros: Kind service, Easy parking, no line, Food came out quickly
Cons: Maybe more dessert options?

Great food, great portions, nice people, but be prepared when ordering online - Edit
I shared the gnocchi with vegan meatballs with my girlfriend, and it filled us both up.
Read morePositives:
The meal filled us both up, and the gnocchi was a good texture and the meatballs mimicked meat very well in taste and texture. Vegan Italian restaurants are so rare, and this food truck really delivers. The people working in the food truck were very nice and even offered to bring our food to our car so we could wait inside, since it was cold and windy.
Negatives:
We ordered online, and they hadn't seen the order by the time we arrived. So it did take longer than we were expecting. I would recommend calling to make sure they saw the order or just ordering in person.
I will definitely be returning to experience more of their menu.
Pros: The meal filled us both up, Gnocchi & meatballs had great texture and taste, Nice people
Cons: Didn't have our online order ready

Pasta was addictive - Edit
We got the meatball sub and some kind of vodka penne at a food truck festival in Ann Arbor. The meatballs were not as flavorful, but the sauces, cheese, and the buns were very satisfying. I can’t wait to encounter them again to try the rest of the menu!

Incredible Italian! - Edit
They used to operate from a building, but after transitioning to a truck, I’ve been able to eat more often. I do miss the bigger menu, but they do a great job at rotating their menu and offering a wide variety. Their pastas are especially incredible and you can never go wrong with a pizza or one of their appetizers.

Best pizza ever - Edit
Their pizza is bound to impress anyone, vegan or not, it's loaded with delicious toppings and it has a hearty, pleasantly chewy crust. My favorite is the meatball and cashew ricotta pizza. Their ricotta is AMAZING! Do NOT miss out on the tzaziki fries or the buffalo cauliflower wings. They also have local vegan sweets from Botanical Bakeshop. Service does take time, plan on a 45 minute to hour wait. There's plenty of things to do close by to pass the time. They're carry out only.
