Deceiving, they serve animals… - Edit
I found this place in Google where it’s posted as a fully vegan restaurant. Here in Happy Cow as a vegetarian restaurant. Upon arrival we even asked the girl outside if they were fully vegan and she confirmed…
Read moreBut it’s neither vegan or vegetarian, I couldn’t believe it when I saw all kind of animals offered in the menu… They serve meat, fish, diary and eggs… So we were pretty disappointed and felt deceived by the advertisement.
We had very limited time so we stayed to try the food. If you look at the vegan options, it’s really amazing, they have a lot of options of traditional Greek food veganized and even vegan desserts. We tried a few things and everything was really good and the prices are very reasonable for Santorini.
It’s just a pity that they promote themselves as a vegan or vegetarian restaurant when they are not. Otherwise they would easily deserve a 4 out of 5 in Happy Cow. Many options, good food and good prices.
Cons: They serve meat, fish, diary and eggs.

Would make for amazing drunk food - Edit
Santorini can be an expensive place to visit, but this place is super reasonable with their prices. We ordered souvlaki and it was really good! Staff were proud to work there, enthusiastic and hospitable. We got a free slice of cake. No complaints.

Tasty vegan food - Edit
Lots of vegan options on the veganissimo menu. The complimentary homemade bread and tzatziki was delicious and fresh. We had the moussaka and the mushroom gyros and both were great. We even went back again for lunch for the courgette balls, vegan salad and vegan baklava - the baklava was amazing and worth going just for that! The staff were all very friendly and gave us a discount the second time. Would recommend this restaurant for either lunch or dinner, and definitely for dessert!

In the MED FOOD restaurant they have Veganissimo menu which is 100% vegan.
Read moreTasty option! I had fava beans (which is a fava purée really nice and good source of proteins), the avocado toast, oven potatoes, falafel and a salad.
Nice food, not in the centre but a good options for vegans

Good vegan food but not 100% vegetarian/vegan - Edit
Veganissimo is the vegan menu of a non-vegan restaurant called Med Food - Greek Cuisine, which offers fish and meat cooked in the same kitchen. It's quite confusing at first (Happycow should reclassify it as veg-friendly), but you're quickly conquered by the vegan menu, which is quite large, by the tzatziki offered as an appetizer and by the very tasty dishes. We tried a gyros, an avocado toast and a vegan eggplant and feta dish (excellent!). The prices are reasonable and the service was quite efficient. We only regretted the busy road (from the bus station) at the height of the season, as we were eating outside. Still, this restaurant is a must for any vegan on Santorini.
Read morePros: tasty vegan options, convenient location, good service
Cons: serves meat & fish (separate menu but not kitchen), on a pretty busy road (with regular bus and cars)

Wonderful - Edit
I'm a vegan food blogger and I've reviewed more than 100 vegan restaurants and I can assure you that this one is really tasty. the structure is well-kept, pleasant and fast table service, the dishes are cared for, made with love and decidedly tasty. I recommend it and will definitely go back. Follow me on IG: Eating Vegan Naples

Best meal in Santorini - Edit
It was tricky to find as not called Veganisimo on the outside. It is a green coloured restaurant and half is Veganissimo. Lovely staff. Cafe feel, so not fine dining but the falafel and the mushroom souvlaki was delicious. Pizza was good. Also had the vegan baclava which was massive and fed us 3! Really reasonably priced.

So good! - Edit
I stayed in Greece for 10 days, and the vegan souvlaki (with falafel) there was the best meal of my trip. I literally went there 3 times because the food was too good and not expensive. I also had the moussaka which was good but honestly the vegan souvlaki is one of the best meal I ever had and it’s very sad that I may not ever eat it again.

Didn’t like it - Edit
We were excited to try this restaurant, but everyone in my group of 4 found the food to be very bland and not very fresh and the menu and name confusing. I believe this place is no longer vegan nor vegetarian despite the name since there was meat and fish on the menu…

Get the mosaiko! - Edit
We were a bit confused trying to find this place, as it's one restaurant with two names. The one menu is labelled Veganissimo but has the non-vegan items in there as well, and I was confused as to whether that part was vegan or not, as this place has been called fully vegan.
Read moreWe were given free bread with tzatziki which was really nice and garlicky.
We ordered the mushroom gyros which was good, but I needed more seasoning in there. We also got the moussaka, which unfortunately was a little overcooked, and a bit dry.
They gave us free halva for dessert, which was very kind of them, I just don't love halva, and it was a bit dry.
We came back the next day for lunch (only because there weren't many other options in the area, or so I thought) and got the carbonara which was very nice and creamy, but not much seasoning (unless that was due to my cold coming on), the serve was massive I couldn't finish it.
They gifted us a piece of mosaiko for dessert, which I LOVED. I'd never had it before but it was chocolate cake with biscuit pieces all through it. It was the perfect level of sweetness and crispy biscuits throughout. This would be the highlight of the restaurant.
Staff were very friendly, in particular the young guy who was very funny and chatty.
Pros: Amazing mosaiko, Friendly staff

Amazing food, amazing service and extensive vegan menu - Edit
Our experience here was fantastic. As soon as we sat down, the owner/manager came over with complimentary bread and vegan dip, told us he was vegan and asked if we were too. When we said we were, he told us his favourite vegan dishes from the menu. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread, carbonara and mushroom risotto and it was all delicious. The carbonara was the best one I’ve ever had. I never usually return to the same restaurant when I’m on holiday but I think I’ll have to make an exception even though we’re only in santorini for a few days.
Read moreIt is worth noting that they do also have a menu with meat and seafood, however the vegan menu is clearly labelled.
Update: we returned here again the next day and received the same level of good service and food.

Excellent service and many delicious choices for vegans 🌱 - Edit
I’m so happy we took a little detour to eat in Fira before heading to our holiday-home in Parissa. I was looking for this place and stumbled into the owner outside, he was very friendly and helpful. Myself and my sister (vegan) plus sister and mother (eats all) were all super-fulfilled with the food and felt lucky to meet such hospitality. Upon leaving I said we were going to find a taxi to take us to Parissa. Without blinking he called for one of the super friendly staff members and threw him the keys to his own car to take us. It was low season still, I suppose that’s not something that happens every day ☺️

Must-Visit in Thira! - Edit
We had a bit of trouble finding this spot at first as it has two names (and two menus), but had a very cosy atmosphere inside while we weee seated. So appreciated the owner coming over a couple of times with tasty fresh-baked bread and tzatziki to sample!
Read moreWe ordered the falafel (incredible), fava bean dip and a gyro plate. Little disappointed that the gyro plate was actually a much cheaper gyro pita simply placed on a plate 😂, and not what the gyro plate was advertised as - think that may have been a mistake and we were charged the full amount for the plate, but let that one go as we were enjoying the food so much.
Ended up taking a chocolate cake with us on the road which was also delicious.
Definitely recommend, as there is a lot of passion and care put in developing the vegan offerings and trying new things out, but suggest being specific with ordering so as not to run into the same thing we did.

Good food / casual atmosphere - Edit
Was a little confusing at first because it’s a vegan restaurant inside of a non-veg one, but they have so many options! We had the spinach pie (very good), souvlaki (amazing!!!!), and a pasta that could have been a little more flavourful. However, for vegan options on the island this place had the most choice, one of the brothers who owns it is vegan and friendly. Definitely a must-visit. Try the souvlaki!
