Renamed to Medfood - great!

We loved this place and ate here more than once, in fact, every day! They renamed the place to Medfood and they have a separate vegan menu. The moussaka is the best we’ve ever had! The burger and pasta were also delicious. The tofu breakfast while tasty, didn’t actually have any tofu. Very friendly service and highly recommended.

Amazing fully vegan Greek restaurant!

Happy cow doesn’t think this place is 100% vegan but it absolutely is!

Delicious vegan versions of Greek classics. We shared zuchinni balls and saganaki (sooo good). Then I had the beyond meat souvlaki and my husband had the moussaka. Everything was top notch with friendly service too.

Pros: Totally vegan, Friendly service , Fast service

Wide range of traditional (vegan) greek dishes

Delicious vegan options with a fully vegan/veggie menu to choose from! We visited Veganissimo twice during our trip as it was so lovely to try a range of traditional greek dishes, all of the food was so flavourful and we felt like we really got to experience real Greek food here 🇬🇷❤️ our favorite was the vegan Moussaka!

⚠️Important note though: The restaurant is no longer called Veganissimo as they’ve been renamed to Med Food (although some places like Google Maps still shows it as Veganissimo) and they are no longer fully vegan, however they still have the veganissimo dedicated menu and staff is super knowledgeable about vegan food and any adjustments required.

Vegan as well as regular food

I loved the atmosphere and that I had my own menu to choose from and the rest of my group was able to pick from regular menu. This was a super way of having a happy balance.

Tasty Souvlaki but no longer Vegan restaurant

The restaurant itself no longer has the Veganissimo signage found on its website (one small sign remains) and instead appears to operate under Med Food. This is not strictly Vegan or Veggie. There is however a separate vegan menu. I had one of the Souvlaki options and it was tasty but disappointing to find that this is no longer a fully vegan restaurant.

Pros: Souvlaki

Cons: Right on the road with large buses etc. going by, Not a vegan/veggie restaurant despite name

First time trying Baklava and vegan Souvlaki

We visited this place when exploring Santorini by quadbike. Having driven from Kamari, we were looking forward to trying our first real vegan greek Souvlaki and Baklava with vegan ice cream. Both of them were very good and the Baklava was very tasty, the ice cream was a delight because we struggled to find proper icecream when visiting Santorini as there are alot of sorbet options, so this was a nice find. It is a little busy in the surrounding area but a place we will visit again, even if just for the Baklava and icecream.

Pros: Range of vegan options., Cosy and clean inside.

Cons: The waiter was a little miserable , Busy area but still enjoyable.

Impressive amount of choice

Veganissimo is located inside Med Food, which isn’t fully vegan, so you’ll need to ask for the separate vegan menu when you arrive. Once you do, though, there’s an impressive amount of choice.
The menu includes a wide range of veganised Greek dishes, alongside options like burgers, fries, pasta and pizza. After having lots of traditional Greek food elsewhere on the island, we really appreciated the chance to switch things up with some vegan junk food, which is surprisingly hard to find in Santorini!
The selection is extensive, the portions are generous, and everything felt very reasonably priced. Service was also excellent, friendly, efficient and accommodating.
A great option if you’re looking for variety!

Best Vegan place in Santorini

This restaurant offered many Vegan options and it's clearly marked, besides staff are very friendly.
Good location with many seats inside and outside, and toilets inside.
Food is delicious and there are many choices (with traditional Greek food in Vegan version).
Take away is possible.

Pros: Vegan options and delicious, Friendly staff, Good location

Grateful for this option

We stayed at mod Santorini and were fed the most incredible food (highly recommend) - but if we hadn’t been staying a vegan hotel, i believe we would have had to lean on this place pretty hard! We gave it a go to support the vegan community and went out for some dinner.

I commend them on having photos of the items on them menu, lots of work but it’s sooo nice to be able to see what everything looks like without having to go on your phone. We tried a bunch of stuff - I believe I tried the bruschetta avocado but it looks different than the menu photo haha. I was honestly having trust issues because it tasted like dairy - but decided towards the end of our visit that I trusted them, and thus tasted great. I will add more photos later — but we tried a bunch of stuff! I love a restaurant with a wide variety even if not every item is outstanding, just as much as I like a tiny, perfected menu. This place has everything — pasta, pizza, burgers, breakfast, starters, salads, mains, souvlaki ! Something for everyone, and for every mood. You need to judge a restaurant by the experience they provide, not the experience you would provide if you had a restaurant! That’s why I love the food/bev industry — they are all as unique as the people whose minds they came out of.

If you have plans to travel to Santorini, and are not staying at mod - pin this place and falafeland!! You won’t go hungry

Good Food

As others have said it’s a bit confusing as it’s actually called Med Food rather than Veganissimo. Once I’d figured that out all was good. Separate vegan menu but somethings do have honey. Had the aubergine saganaki which just melted in your mouth, & the tomato balls & fava beans. Staff very friendly

Pros: Aubergine saganaki, Friendly staff

Cons: Fava beans a bit of a disappointment unfortunately

Nice place confusing menu, friendly staff

They have several kinds of violife vegan cheese! So cool! The food was nice, but it's more of a meat restaurant with a huge vegan menu than anything else... Even the vegan menu has honey. It's still a great find!

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Confusing business model

Vibes were strange at this establishment. Server disclosed that everything was vegan but there are earthlings like fishes and chicken being served. He didn’t explain that the space was shared with med food. Food was pricey compared to similar items in Oia. Got the Santorini salad and a beyond meat souvlaki. The salad was good but expensive and the souvlaki was a beyond burger with fries in a wrap.

Pros: Good salad

Cons: Expensive

Seperate vegan menu and knowledgable staff

Many options, staff are lovely, no fully vegan restaurants close by so this one was the best we could find and we left happy. Great to be able to get a gyro whilst in Greece.

Cute cafe with great vegan menu

We walked from Imerovigli to Fira one morning and stopped here for lunch. They have a vegan or a regular menu. The owner was very nice and helped us pick out his favorite items. They had some vegan versions of Greek staples. We loved the tomato fritters and beyond Souvlaki. The fava was the best I had on our entire Greek vacation!

Disappointing to be charged for something not ordered

My partner refuses to go back as they brought us bread with vegan tzatziki on arrival when we didn’t ask for it. Then they charged us €3 for it. I ordered zucchini balls and they brought zucchini and tomato balls. The zucchini balls were nice but I wasn’t so crazy about the tomato ones which was frustrating then. The menu is super messy with things crossed off on every page. The space is nothing special. They did give a nice chocolate orange and biscuit dessert complimentary and a 10% discount card for our next visit. Unfortunately we were already put off by being force fed things we didn’t want and then charged for it. I wanted to try their vegan moussaka so it’s a shame.

It was fine

Reasonable prices for reasonable food. They had run out of our first choices so we ended up with food not quite to our tastes.

Service was OK. Wine was fine. Portions were generous on the mains.

It’s right by a busy road so might be good to have a seat inside because the smell of petrol took away from the night somewhat.

Pros: Generous portions , Central location

Cons: Coconut oil cheese substitute used , Traffic (foot and cars), Honey in the baklava

Vegan Greek classics

Veganissimo is part of Med Food which serves meat, but they have a separate vegan menu with classic dishes including moussaka (highly recommend!), souvlaki with either falafel or various fake meats, and baklava. We were also given a complimentary mini dessert at the end! I would definitely return if I was staying longer in Santorini.

Pros: Options on the menu., Food was delicious!

Possibly NOT VEGAN!

Happy Cow said this was closed so I didn’t pursue going here. I found out it was open on my last day so visited. I am vegan and chose the vegan moussaka. It was tasty but more like a lasagna. It had no potato, couldn’t see any aubergine and had a pasta base. Having just read reviews on TripAdvisor (see Jane Oct 23) one customer asked to see their ingredients list and found out their supposedly vegan products contain cows milk! This is appalling if true. (I wonder if the owner wanted it marked as closed on here if it is disingenuous!). I will leave a review on TA too to hopefully warn other fellow vegans.

Pros: It was tasty but now scared it wasn’t vegan!, Friendly & efficient service.

Cons: Might not be vegan despite saying it is!, They give you yummy bread but chg., Some quite pricey items.

Eh

I generally give out pretty good reviews that are honest if they are positive, but I have to give my opinion this one unfortunately. Food was not really good. The vegan carbonara was overly salted and tasted like box white cheddar Mac and cheese. The tzatziki was pretty good but the tomato fritters were just okay. Our meals came out before our appetizers and coffees. Very odd. The owner said he would give 5% off if we gave a good review.

Lots of traditional Greek vegan dishes

Friendly service and reasonably priced.

There is a whole vegan menu (probably the biggest I have seen in Santorini so far). Mainly Greek food as well as pizza and burgers.

My personal favourite was the saganaki.

Highly recommend.

Lots of Good Vegan Options

This restaurant shares the same space as a non-vegan Mediterranean restaurant. The vegan menu is extensive with moussaka, gyros, lasagne, pasta, salads, fritters, baklava, etc. The server Alex was very friendly.

It’s not the most creative food but its tasty and having a reliable vegan place with variety is a godsend in Santorini unless you want to eat falafels for every meal

Gut und angemessene Preise.

Das Essen war sehr gut und die Preise waren okay. Man läuft nur schnell vorbei, da der Name klein geschrieben ist. Am besten orientiert man sich an den gelben Stühlen.

Weird place and the food was not great

The place (Veganissimo) does not really exist. It's the restaurant "Med Food", and only if you ask for vegan do you get the menu of "Veganissimo". (Which is why we almost didn't find it.) So it's just a normal restaurant with a vegan menu. OK. No big deal, if that's how they organise themselves. But then the food was not really great and I regretted not having tried another of the (actually vegan) restaurants on my list. The location is also not great, right by the main street with all the traffic. I would not go there again.
