loved it! - Edit
Such a nice, small and very down to earth place with very attentive staff, one of whom I believe was the owner, was always asking me if what I've finished eating tasted good. And yes it did. I didn't really explored much of the menu (ate a tofu "Quiche", a freshly squeezed orange juice and two traditional desserts) and it was good. The sweets looked and tasted delicious. The prices are as well very very low compared to what is being practiced in the city. Recommended, will return.

Outstanding experience - Edit
I wish I live in Lisbon just so I could eat in this place everyday. First time we visited Veganeats we fell in love not only with the food but with the vibe you automatically feel when you go inside. I can’t find the words to describe how lovely the people working there are. You can feel that they love what they do. I have to thank these women for cooking typical Portuguese food in a vegan way (that ‘vegan Feijoada’ was awesome!). And then the desserts (and that coffee!)… We couldn’t decide which one to try so we had 5 of them (plus a great slice of banana bread they gave us to try) and we don't regret it! They were so good we couldn’t vote for the best one. Obviously, we visited them again in the next day (thank you for the paper flower).
Pros: The food (vegan portuguese dishes), Lovely staff., Great value.

Amazing - Edit
This place has the best cake (vegan/non-vegan) I have ever had. They serve some traditional Portuguese dishes which gives vegans a rare opportunity to try this countries great cuisine. It had a great homely feel and the staff were so lovely. If you go try the sweet potato cake: you won't regret it!
Pros: Cakes, The rest of the menu , the staff
Cons: Not much seating

cozy place to take a break - Edit
The staff at this place is incredible! So friendly and helpful as I never encountered before! I tried 2 cakes and despite many advices for nice places to visit they gave me a third one for free to try. All of them were very good and delicious, but I liked the sweet potatoe cake the best (personal taste). U should definetly go there. Very good prices too!
Pros: delicious food, price money value, super friendly staff

Amazing vegan breakfast! - Edit
I went to the Veganeats Caffe with my girlfriend looking for a nice and relaxed vegan breakfast. The good was very, as the two ladies said who runs the restaurant, very basic and simple and well its also absolutely delicious and amazing.. We had the Carob bread with avocado, Quiche, chocolate cake, sweet potato cake and coffee with hazelnut milk and rice/coconut milk. We loved the food and the ladies working there was so sweet and nice.. If you are looking for vegan foods you should visit them! Wish I had a few more days in Lisbon so we could go back for more of their delicious food! And the prices are very good! Can't believe we had so much food for so few euros! Thanks again for believing in vegan food :-) 👍👍

Great food, great prices, great staff, great location.

I seriously advise you to try their homemade vegan chorizo bread and chocolate cake, they are to die for.

Cozy café place with super tasty food - Edit
I had the chance to stop by this little cafe place for breakfast with my mom and we had the carob bread with butter, cereal bread with avocado and lime, coffee and the apple pie which was divinal :)
The tea of the day is free of charge and both ladies are very nice. It was a shame I didn't have any more days to go back and try the lunch menus.
A place to go back to for sure.

Great - Edit
I stopped at Veganeats Caffe for breakfast while we waited for our Airbnb to be ready. I had my first caffè latte ever with hazelnut milk. It was very good. Then, I ordered the granola/muesli with yogurt and fresh fruits. It was great.
I saw they had a vegan version of the Portuguese chocolate salami, but I unfortunately didn't try it.
I'd definitely go back.
Pros: Extremely nice staff, Vegan yogurt!, Quiet

Thank you to the lovely ladies who run this great place - Edit
I stayed in Lisbon in October 2016 due to sad, unplanned circumstances (my Mother in law passed away) and I needed somewhere to eat that had nutritious good quality food. I was grateful to the two ladies who run this place. The recipes are outstanding, taste great and the ladies go the extra mile to make sure you're served well. I also got free cake when I left on my last day's stay in Lisbon! I visited every day for 3 days as my main source of food and I'm grateful to the kindness of staff. Listening to me and making me feel very welcome. I know it was quiet as tourist season had finished and they had not been open too long. I urge you to visit if you're staying in Lisbon. I'd like to go back if/when I visit Lisbon again.
Pros: Price, Quality of ingredients/recipes, Hospitality of staff
Cons: Wouldn't have found without happycow app

Lovely, lovely, lovely, just lovely. - Edit
Me and my partner went to Veganeats for breakfast. We had cereal bread with avocado, chocolate cake and a pyramida. Everything was absolutely delicious and when served by the lady who runs the place [together with another woman] it made it all taste even better!
It's hard to believe the amount of foodgasm you get for such little amount of money.
Definitely a favorite place we will visit every time we come to Lisbon.
Thank you!!
.Ps. When we left, the lady who served us gifted me a homemade paper rose, how sweet is that?!
Pros: Extremely sweet staff , Everything delicious , Not expensive
Cons: Easy to miss; dark windows and small signs

Great food and service for good value - Edit
The food and service were both great! They lady who served us and the lady behind the counter were really lovely :) The place offers daily plate, which is traditional portugeese food in vegan version. There is also selection of quiches, cakes both sweet and savoury. There are also 5 kinds of milk available for your coffee!
Pros: All vegan, opportunity to try traditional portugee
Cons: menu could be bit more clear

Let them eat cake! - Edit
If you read the reviews, they all say mostly the same thing....great women running this little cafe, great music playing making it very relaxing. Fresh cakes are made each day, the most popular one being the chocolate cake topped with chocolate ganache and peanuts. Still dreaming about it. Actually, we got a piece to go and didn't eat it until the next day...still super yummie. While we were there we had Sweet Potato cake with a latte and yogurt with fresh fruit both hit the spot for us. Had Quiche to go and enjoyed it the next day for breakfast (along with the chocolate cake)!
As vegans in our 60's, we are so glad that Veganeats Caffe is there! The owner saw 'Forks Over Knives' and never looked back..thank goodness for us! and she loves to bake!
Pros: Chocolate Cake, relaxing atmosphere, VEGAN

Lovely place, great taste - Edit
The Veganeats Caffe is a wonderful vegan place in Lisboa, run by two brave ladies. They bake very tasty sweets and salty snacks, vegan breakfast plates and offer some warm dishes as well.
You can drink tea for free and of course enjoy vegan versions of cappucchino.
As others already mentioned, the chocolate-cake, which is served lightly warm is just a dream.
We also had a salty snack called Chorizo: a little bread with spicy onion and pepper-filling - it tasted terrific!
It's not expensive at all, we would have paid a lot more for that breakfast.
Pros: vegan bakery and breakfast in Lisbon, friendly atmosphere and lovely staff, cheap

That choco cake... - Edit
After a long day of rehearsals, my friend and I were craving for some vegan dessert - that's how ballerinas solve sore muscles... So I found out this petit Caffe, 10 minutes from Arroio's metro station and it was one of my best discoveries in Lisbon city! Such a cozy place, with a nice vintage decor and the two ladies were as sweet as the cake we had! We shared a slice of banana bread and had the AMAZING chocolate cake topped with roasted peanuts. The tea was on the house. I'm still day dreaming with that cake, definitely will come back (like really often)!
Pros: Great desserts, Cozy and quiet, Nice price and staff
Cons: Small space

Lovely people, delicious vegan food - Edit
What a delightful experience to try some delicious traditional Portuguese food that has been made vegan. What topped off our amazing lunch was feeling so welcomed by the hospitality of such beautiful warm hearted people. It was also very well priced and we gave them a tip that they didn't even want to accept but it was well deserved so we insisted. 100% Vegan. Cakes are delicious too!
Don't miss out on a visit here whilst in Lisbon.

vegan treats - Edit
I came here with high expectations after reading such positive reviews on happy cow and I was not disappointed. It really is such a welcoming and friendly place, it was very busy on our visit, the cafe was full whilst others visited for take outs and the lovely owners apologised that they didn't have more time to talk to us. I ordered the chocolate cake which was divine, it was rich, moist and oozing with chocolate sauce, we were also given a sample of the lemon and poppy cake which was also fantastic, the cakes tasted so fresh because they are home made every morning. This is a truly uplifting establishment with it's ethical fully vegan menu and wonderful owners.
Pros: super friendly, tasty fresh food, 100% vegan

Vegan Arousal in Arroios - Edit
Set in the mainly tourist free parish of Arroios in Lisbon this is a super proud and friendly neighbourhood vegan eatery. I can't speak highly enough of the owners who prepare everything with passion and warmth for their guests. The food is a vegan stand on typical Portuguese meals. I had a Seitan beef stew served with a beautiful creamy potato mash. We also had the chocolate cake which was moist and iced to perfection. Two soya lattes and some of the house mint tea completed the visit. The tea is free by the way. Next time I'd like to try the quiche and maybe have a bottle of Super Bock.
Pros: friendly, cheap

A slice of cake to repeat - Edit
Veganeats caffe is a recent establishment which is open since last month, extremely near from where i live. The staff is soooo friendly and the cute space, although small, is really cosy. All the food is vegan and they have awesome vegan versions of many portuguese typical sweet and savoury dishes. I only went there to eat something during the afternoon but oh man, it already became a habit :D
I honestly think that you should visit this place! The sweet potato cinnamon cake is amazing and i can't wait to have lunch there one day!

Highlight of my Saturday - Edit
Spent the day (let's say 10 hours) walking through Lisbon and came across the cutest vegan cafe in Arroios. The owners were incredibly humble and accomodating, and seeing as I only had a €10 note, my organic espresso was free! Also had the cinammon sweet potato cake, which was deliciously moist and at a very reasonable price.

the Loveliest Little Gem - Edit
Oh man, this is my first happy cow review and am happy for it to be towards this lovely place! Still sitting outside eating cake as I write because I'm eager to let you know how nice it is.
Came by because it is close to where I am in Lisbon and am so happy I did. I'll be back. The owner/worker are so kind and loving - they've been treating me with delicate smiles and care since I arrived. I got the small daily plate (they also have a large - it rotates I assume?) and it was delicious. It was quite big for a small - not sure I could have handled the large as an afternoon lunch. It's more lunch/snacks than anything - but I would gladly have this plate for dinner. Delicious, cute and quaint and just great vibes. This slice of cake is gigantic and so good. They give you free tea and just really honour your presence. Come by if you're around!
Pros: amazing! yummy! happy!!
Cons: if you're looking for a full dinner experience, no

My fav in Lisbon!!! - Edit
I have been in this cute little restaurant which opened in June 2016 for lunch and I am so happy that I got there!
The restaurant is located directly within the "real" traditional neighbourhood near the Bairro Alto district. The owner of Veganeats was so welcoming and friendly! She explained the menu, gave recommendations and made my stay very comfortable. I ordered a fresh salad with tofu, chick peas, cucumber, tomatoes etc. and it was delicious. While waiting for the salad I got some really yummy carrot orange cake and some plums which were from own harvesting. But the very very best came at the end: The dessert! I ate a traditional sweet rice pudding and a piece of frozen chocolate cookie cake. Both items were unbelievable tasty!! When I come to Lisbon again this will be my first choice to eat and drink in a cozy and pleasant atmosphere.
I wish you all the best for the future, hope Veganeats will prosper!!

vegan pit stop - Edit
Tiny local cafe serving home style cooking via a range of daily options. I had caramelized onion and olive quiche, it was tasty and provided the fuel I needed for my first day exploring. I also took a slice of sweet potato cake for the road which turned out to be one of the best cakes I have tried. The staff were very welcoming & friendly, with the chef coming out to speak English with us.
This place is modest with no frills, but has everything you need to leave feeling full and happy.
