Okay burger with much potential - Edit

Going straight to the point, I am disappointed. There is indeed the promise of something really good as the menus are very creative. Compared with other vegan eateries, these burgers with their different types of breads and variety of mixed vegetable burgers did stand out positively. But the taste did not. I tried the champignon burger and although the portion was nice, the burger in itself is very very mushy, It broke in half after I first lifted it to have a bit and I had trouble picking it up with a fork from the tray as It had more the consistency of a paste. Also I found the overall taste of things quite bland and the almost cold handmade chips with herbs served on the side didn't really added much besides the fact that they looked good. The spinach bread tasted ok but it would've been nice to have it warmer or slightly toasted. Price €8,10 including a drink. Prices for desserts and drinks options are not stated so you need to ask. Staff was friendly but I don't think it's very nice towards them from the business owner that they need to repeat to every customer their options beyond what's stated in the menus. Anyway, even if it was not to my taste, it's still an okay burger to eat. I was just expecting better.

Pros: Food presentation, Plenty of different types of bread / burgers , Board at counter raising awareness to vegan issues

Cons: consistency, textures, not all whats in offer is written down (must ask), a bit on the pricey side for Lisbon

So close, yet so far! - Edit

Unambitious. This place has so much unexploited potential and it could be really good with very little effort. When ordering a burger, I expect it to be saucy, crunchy, soft in the middle and full of flavours. Nevertheless the veggie burgers here are cold and mealy, buns are cold and very soft and the flavours are quite bland. It's so close to be good, but just not enough.

Spice it up, sauce it up, remember the salt and pepper, warm the burgers, toast the buns so there's something to bite into.

Pros: The idea is really good

Cons: Flavours are a bit insipid and bland, Food is cold, Textures are off/too soft

Good price - quality - Edit

The ones i've tried were nice (some better than others). Love the fact that is completely vegetarian, no animal products, so its a big point for that. When I'm in town and don't want to spend that much money I go there.
Staff is very nice

Pros: locations, 100% vegan :D , staff

Cons: you can't get just the burger

Vegan fast food - Edit

This is a reasonably-priced vegan burger stand in the food court of a shopping mall. The staff were friendly and the burgers we got delicious. Can highly recommend the black bean and mushroom burger. Their homemade chips are amazing as a side. Loved the vegan chocolate mousse as a desert.

Great initiative - Edit

I was pleasantly surprised with all of the options available (food, drink and side dishes)! Overall the meal was good. It is in a food court and not an actually restaurant.

Pros: Lots of options, Great price

Cons: Not an actual restaurant

Possibly the best vegan burger i have eaten - Edit

I ordered the beet and rice burger with an apple pesto sauce and my partner ordered the black bean and tomato burger in the green matcha bun. We both agreed that they were among the best vegan burgers we have ever eaten. The side dishes were also very good (couscous, broccoli, and chips). They had approximately 8 choices of burgers and I am planning to return so I can try additional burgers. The staff spoke good english and was helpful explaining the available options.
Bottom line - I highly recommend Vegana burgers if you looking for vegetarian options in Lisbon.

Pros: Amazing Food, Friendly Staff, Innovative Combinations

Cons: Not in tourist center

Best vegan burgers I have had so far in Lisbon - Edit

Vegana burgers (the first restaurant of the franchise - I am sure that more will follow) is located in a mall in downtown Lisbon. The place has lots of natural light, though. The staff are very friendly and the food is fresh, tasty and, above all, innovative. I went there today with my 15 year old daughter and we both had the mushroom and beans burger with vegan maionese and fresh mushroom topping, with homemade chips. As she took her first bite, my daughter looked at me open-eyed and said "What the hell is going on here?". She devoured the burger in a couple of bites. It was incredibly tasty and juicy. The fig bread is an amazing touch and the homemade chips are the best I have had in a while. We paid around 16 euros for 2 menus, which included an apple and watermellon juice. They do not have sodas, but you can buy one in any of the other restaurants in the food court.

A delicious quick bite - Edit

This restaurant is in a shopping center and has a food court vibe.

The food was tasty, and service was good and fast.
there is a selection of different burgers. The burger patties are all served cold, which was weird and would have tasted better got.

I recommend this place for a quick bite on the go.

Pros: fast, food

Cons: ambiance

eee135 08 Oct 2016 - After reading your review I was a drop worried about the "cold burgers" however mine was not served cold. Its possible that the specific burger you ordered was served cold but most (if not all) are served warm.

Lucky 8 - Edit

Choose from a selection of 8 burgers available all day and every day. No need to query if there are any dairy ingredients either. That's because every single morsel is vegan. Vegana Burgers is located in the food court at the basement of a shopping and office mall. There is no dedicated seating other than communal food court seating. We opted to take away but that was just preference to soak up some sun at the top of Parque Eduardo VII. With each burger you get the choice of a drink and a side dish such as fries or couscous. You also get a cute pot of mayo. Prices range from €6.50 to €8.50 which is fair. We had a beetroot and rice burger and a sweet potato and chick pea burger. Both were excellent but more the consistency of a solid pâté rather than a burger. Nevertheless, they held their taste and texture to the end. Great place, I hope it does well. It deserves to.

Pros: great choice , friendly staff, location

Cons: bit pricey perhaps

Nice restaurant - Edit

It's really nice to find a restaurant like this in a shopping mall. You can order a burger in a menu with lot variations. After the burger, side dish, dessert and a drink - you are full :) Everything tastes really delicious. The waitress helps me with my combination, she was very friendly.

Pros: Full menu at a good price, Delicious burger and dessert

Cons: You can't buy only a burger.

healthy and tasty fast food - Edit

Very tasty burgers are served at this ethical establishment, everything is vegan, the containers are made of plants not plastic and there are posters at the counter which promote a vegan diet and highlight animal cruelty. It has a modern and fresh look and is ran efficiently with friendly staff. The only draw back for me is that it doesn't have its own seating area though that said the seating area isn't bad for a communal shopping complex, it's actually one of the better and cleaner ones I've seen. If like me you're not struck on dining at food malls then it's a great place for a take away. I particularly loved the mayo and fresh lemonade.

Pros: 100%vegan , tasty food, friendly staff

Cons: doesn't have its own seating.

great vegan fast food - Edit

Vegana burgers is located in the shopping centre, it is cheap and fast, so great when you just want food and dont expect anything else. Burgers are really good, homemade fries are in my opinion too oily and I wouldnt call them fries, more like chips but overall the food is tasty and very filling.

Good start - Edit

Vegana burgers is a stand in a food court in the heart of Lisbon's financial district.

It must be a vegan haven for people working in the areas but, in my opinion, not enough to go there just for the food.

It's definitely a good start: inventive, colourful, healthy - but I must admit that the food experience in itself is nothing special. I have had burgers made with the veggies or beans in other places with a much richer and developed taste and texture.

I think it's indeed a wonderful start but I hope they will become better in the future.

Vegan fast food in shopping mall - Edit

Vegan burgers stand in a shopping mall. Decent vegan fast food burgers. Good for a quick bite when you are in the neighbourhood.

Pros: Vegan burgers

Cons: Could use some more flavours

Lots of options - Edit

Very friendly service, effortlessly explaining all the many burger options to us in English. Burgers were tasty, nice vegan mayonnaise, crisps were fun (seemed home-made), bread could be a little more sturdy. It's located in the food court of a shopping mall so don't expect a fancy setting, but if you want to have a quick vegan meal, this is a very good pick.

Pros: Choice, Friendly, Tasty

Cons: Food court

Pretty, healthy, but tasteless - not for real burger lovers - Edit

I would love to like this place, because the counter and the portions look pretty, but I think tasteless over-healthy burgers like these give bad reputation to vegan food. Burgers are good when they are fried, when they have soy- or seitan patties and vegan cheese, when they have fat and salt in them. It just doesn´t work if they are not fried, when there seems to be no salt at all, when you cant add relish and ketchup... This place would be better as a salad bar. I don´t want to eat dry burgers with patties, sauces and buns that don´t taste much at all.

Pros: Healthy (but burgers are not supposed to be health, Pretty, A food court is good location for a fast food stal

Cons: No taste

Lot's of vegan options, but tastless - Edit

This was one of the places I wanted to visit in Lisbon, but I was quite disappointed in the end.

They have a lot of options, 8 vegan burgers, 5 o 6 sides like chips, broccoli, couscous...

The point is that the burgers are not tasty. I tried many vegan burgers around the world, but this... not tasty at all.

Prices are reasonable, not cheap, but not expensive at all. The place is located inside a mall and the ambiance is not so nice.

Pros: variety, 100% vegan

Cons: lack of taste, price , location

Tubbie 29 Nov 2016 - Which ones did you try? The one I tried (Black beans and mushrooms with fig bread) was delicious, best burger I've ever had (vegan or non-vegan). This is why I'm surprised to hear that, although it's possible some of them aren't as tasty. I'd like to know which ones so that next time I go I don't end up disappointed.

Quite a disappointment - Edit

Went to the burgerplace with my SO for our anniversary.

We've read all the reviews here on happycow, so we were exited to see the best rated burger place in Lisbon.

And well...
The burgers may have been "healthy" but it was at the cost of the taste.
The buns were dry and tasteless - and also missing the seeds on top.

My girlfriends patty tasted a bit of soap

And the "home made french fries"... well they were just potatochips, presumably from a bag.

And the dessert, an apple crumble, may have been good when it was made, but at the time of consumption, it had the texture of old apples with damp muesli.

Wouldn't recommend Vegana over a cheeseless veggiepizza from a random corner pizza-pusher in Lisbon... sorry

Pros: I like the concept with a veggie place in the food, the service was nice

Cons: the food!!!, oh the food!

Vegan Burgers yes please! - Edit

This is a "fast food" Vegan Burger concept near the heart of Lisbon.
All Vegan, good desserts, good menus and a fast service with 10 different hamburger experiences.
Also have a customer card so you can get free stuff the more you visit them!

Pros: All Vegan, Fast service, Customer card

Cons: Maybe a bit pricey for what you'll get...

All you need & more - Edit

After the flight we were craving for some vegan food. The app came with some suggestions and obviously we made the perfect choice.
As we are a family of five, we tried all the burgers which seemed convenient to us. What should I say? The burgers are great, freshly made by incredibly nice and dedicated people.
-> Meet the boss - she is awesome and gives advice in english! ;-)

Thank you & see you next time!

Pros: centrally located, 10 min. to airport, parking space, great staff

Cons: food court atmosphere

Good burgers in non-stylish shoppingmall - Edit

Very good burgers, a lot of choices. It's in a foodcounter, so no cosy place.
Note: it is opened every day, also during weekends.

Pros: Good taste, 8 different vegan burgers

Cons: No nice place to chill

Best Burgers in Lisbon - Edit

We loved these burgers! I wish I got to try more flavours because they all looked amazing. We noticed, while we were there, there's a whole heap of other food counters at the food court with no customers and there was a line around the corner to get to Vegana Burgers. We met lots of other cool vegans here, too.

Pros: really good burgers, lots of options, fast food

Cons: weird shopping mall location

Excellent veggie burgers - Edit

Found this vegan place thru HappyCow. It is in a mall but apparently they will be moving soon. Burgers were generous size and delicious. Hard to find vegan options in Lisbon. Good prices and vegan dessert options too.

Pros: tasty, not expensive , varied

Cons: not suitable for a sit up as it is not a restauran

Awesome veggie burger - Edit

I had the veggie burger with the red bun and it was so good. I would really recomend it.
It was a bit harder to find, because it's located in a shopping mall.

Best veggie burger I've tried - Edit

First of all, it's amazing that a place like this exists! Fully vegan fast food, yes please! I hope Vegana Burgers hits other shopping malls all over Portugal, unfortunately I don't live in Lisbon, if I did I would go there all the time. Second, I loved the burger I tried (black beans & mushrooms) and another person I was with got another one and loved it as well. The bread was so great, I wasn't expecting the fig bread to taste so good with the burger but it was indeed amazing. The dressings were great as well. Can't wait to visit Lisbon again and try the other burgers.

Pros: great flavours, Filling, the most expensive menu was only 7.10 €

Cons: none

I've been waiting for a place like this for ages! - Edit

I've tried every single burguer so far, and all of them are unique and have an amazing taste (though my favorite is the mushrooms and beans burguer). The staff is very kind and always innovating when it comes to food choices, which is remarkable.
If you pass by Lisbon, I suggest you try this amazing restaurant.

Pros: Good price, Tasty, Different burguer/sides choices

Cons: Not many dessert choices (yet!)

Fast Food o mais saudável possível!! :) - Edit

Amazing! - Edit

When I heard all the great comments about the first vegan fast food burgery in Portugal I had to go there and try it myself. And I fell in love! The burgers are the delicious and the natural juice of the day is super good, the staff is always nice and even tho the place is small it's is pretty at his own way. One of my favorite places to go eat a nice meal!

Pros: Staff always greets you with a smille, 100% vegan. BLESS., Super healthy AND delicious

So damn good! - Edit

My boyfriend and I had an amazing lunch with vegana burgers. They are healthy (not fried) and super delicious. I had the black bean and mushroom burger with couscous and salad and Diogo had the curry and chickpeas burger in bread with French fries.

Pros: Only vegan. Not fried

Excellent Burgers! - Edit

This place is quite recent, so it does need to improve a few things. Still, my congrats to the team for being super nice and for delivering such tasty burgers!

There are several menus, with different types of bread and burgers. Each one of them is very good. The portions of the side dishes should be bigger and the orange juice should be better.

However, I read one of their posts the other day, where they thanked people for their feedback and they were also aware they needed to change and improve some things and that they were working on it. So I am sure everything will be great in the future.

We didn't have the opportunity to try their carob cake, but we will return soon!

Pros: Everything is vegan, Good food, Friendly Staff

Cons: Needs improvement on the side dishes

Fast food never tasted so good - Edit

This small but practical “fast food” restaurant is located in one of the shopping malls in the very central Picoas area in Lisbon.

It serves five different vegan burgers, each of them made with very distinct ingredients and served in their own special bread. You can choose to accompany the burgers with sweet potato, couscous, or tomato salad.

Me and my wife had a very late lunch at the restaurant and ended up ordering two burgers each, meaning that I had the opportunity to taste four different burgers in one meal! All of them were quite delicious. The flavor of each burger really stood out and the combination of the ingredients was very well balanced. Personally I really like the ingredients used in these burgers, such as beans, lentils, chickpeas, brown rice, quinoa, etc. These are healthy and very satisfying foods.

Unfortunately, soup is only available during weekdays, which is bit disappointing because combining a nourishing warm soup with a hearty burger is what would truly please my appetite. The drinks are another area where a bit of improvement is in order - there aren't many options and the only natural juice available was very, very watery. Perhaps having herbal tea or bottled juices would be simple yet nice additions.

All in all, visiting this new vegan place was a good experience and we are definitely coming back: it will probably become our go-to place on Sundays because almost all other vegetarian restaurants around the area are closed.

Pros: Delicious and healthy vegan burgers, Original recipes, Convenient and fast service

Cons: No soup available on weekends, Few drink options
