I don't understand the bad reviews. If you write a bad or lukewarm review for a great vegan restaurant like this, you will drive it out of business. Is that what you want, really? Do you want to have to get the measly vegan "option" at some nonvegan place where some determined carnist will put cow's milk in your food on purpose and make you sick? (If you want to know how often this happens at nonvegan places, read some of my other reviews.)
Read moreThis is one of the best vegan places I visited in Amsterdam. The "classic burger" is excellent, especially if you miss the taste and texture of meat. The avocado chick'n bowl is delicious; it's like a European version of Japanese katsudon, which I had really missed since going vegan. Unlike the previous reviewer (who must be afraid of carbs), I really liked the rice underneath, which was cooked to the most delightful level of softness. The Dutch apple pie and stroopwafel were also really good. It's nice that the seats are comfortable and there are enough tables that one can show up without a reservation. I can't wait to visit the next time I'm in Amsterdam.
I was delighted to meet the owner and to learn that he is vegan. This restaurant is clearly a labour of love. If he is reading this, I hope he will consider opening a little earlier and providing breakfast. If we could have had breakfast here, we would have come every day during our two-week stay.

We tried two different bowls: both were good but rather simple and with inexpensive ingredients (a lot of rice), which makes the price of about 19€ per dish appear quite high. Also they do not offer any complimentary tap water and sell bottled water at a very high price (3.50 for 2dl or 7.50 for 7.5dl!).

Hot chocolate is yum. Prices aren’t fair for the quality, amount and ambience. Burger lacked flavour and wasn’t warm, fries were okay. Needs improvement on prices and taste (and maybe on heating, since it was quite cold inside).

This temple of vegan food offers an assortment of good quality street/junk food, burgers, loaded fries and cakes. I tried their avocado burger, which was quite interesting, original and tasty, accompanied by loaded fries (cheese and b*con). For dessert, I tried the Dutch apple cake, which was truly excellent. The staff are very helpful. On the other hand, prices are rather high for this type of food, even if it's pretty much in line with Amsterdam standards.
