Amazing! - Edit
Great selection of sushi, and tasted absolutely delicious! We had some 'chicken' bao buns too which were lovely. Staff really nice and interior is small but cosy. Bonus points that it's a 2 minute walk from a bus stop!

Ordered a takeaway pick up of Fried California Dream rolls, seaweed inari & the matcha tiramisu. Everything was delicious, best vegan sushi I've ever had - miles above the rest. Really recommend!

3.5⭐️ hospitality? - Edit
After getting so much recommendations for this place we finally gave in to our excitement and visited Vegan Sushi Bar. Entering the small restaurant in a busy street in West, we waited to be seated by the staff. Except this didn't happen, they shouted at us from the kitchen to take a seat. We ordered drinks and food using the QR-code after waiting too long to be served. We could see that the takeaway orders were getting a lot of priority.
Read moreThe first round of food, the takoyaki balls and the Bao buns, came before we even had our drinks. When the sushi arrived we asked again for our drinks, and they confirmed our suspicion that the order had been forgotten. They were made on the spot.
The food was mouthwatering. We wanted to try several items on the menu and started out with the octopus balls and the bao buns. The Takoyaki balls were extremely rich in flavour, unlike any other vegan "meat"balls I've ever tried. Crunchy on the outside and a soft potato-ish inside. I could have eaten three portions of it! The Bao buns were nothing unique, but definitely as good as expected.
The sushi blew our mind. By accident we had ordered three rolls instead of two, but we did not regret that at all. Speechless but moaning out of pleasure we enjoyed our Green Miso, Mighty Mushroom and Shrimpless Tempura Crunch rolls. We unanimously thought it was the best sushi we've ever tried in our life. Every bite was a journey of different layers of texture and flavour. The sushi was not only very tasty, but also visually attractive, contributing to a delicate experience for all senses. Even the wasabi was amazingly fresh and delicate. The dessert we ordered, a matcha tiramisu, was a bit too much. Even though the Matcha taste was far away, the dish was allright. The portion size in combination with the dense consistency made us feel a bit nauseous however.
If you want to get blown away by an extraordinary sushi experience, reserve your spot at Vegan Sushi Bar. The reason for my 3.5 stars is that the place felt like a takaway restaurant with some tables on the side. Delivery drivers were entering and leaving all the time, passing frequently by our table bringing the cold from outside. The sushi is of such artistry that it alone carries the whole restaurant, but hospitality wise they have still a lot to improve. This however is definitely not a reason to not come back. I will and I will recommend it like we were.

Great sushi, quick service and nice drinks - Edit
We went here because of the good reviews on HappyCow and it didn't disappoint. We ordered miso soup, crunchy wings, two types of special rolls and two types of maki. All was very good and also nicely presented. The wasabi was freshly made, unlike the paste you know from the sushi boxes.
Read moreI really liked the selection of drinks offered (we had yuzu lemonade and matcha mango milk tea).
All in all it was a great experience, the service was quick and friendly and my most favourite sushi was the sweet potato/avocado rolls with garlic crumble.
Pros: The sushi was great and nicely presented, The location is beautiful and the music nice, Nice selection of drinks
Cons: It is quite pricy

Review from an 11 Year old kid - Edit
I had the octopus balls, crunchy wings, and gyoza to start, crunchy California dream, shrimp tempura, sweet avocado tree, matcha tiramisu, passion fruit and mango mochi and yuzu lemonade to drink. The octopus balls were surprisingly good, the crunchy wings were underwhelming and the gyoza was also very good. I thought the California roll was the worst of the three but still amazingly good. There were only three things of mochi so if you want a more substantial desert you should get the tiramisu.

We’ve eaten a lot of vegan sushi in our time (and it’s all been frikken delicious) but this is a truly unique food experience. Very different to any other vegan sushi you’ll ever try, this place is a must visit on your trip to Amsterdam. If it wasn’t for the many other incredible vegan restaurants in the area, we would have gone back every night.
You HAVE to try the takoyaki, it even beats out the vegan takoyaki we were lucky enough to try in Osaka. Please go here!!
Pros: California rolls , Fried “shrimp”, Takoyaki

Vegan sushi!! - Edit
In this cozy place they have great vegan sushi. The taste didn’t wow me but it was really nice to have options with faux meat/fish rather than just your average cucumber and avocado rolls. Because of the special menu we could try various items. Especially the fried “shrimp” one I like. Vegan mochi ice cream was also tasty. Overall good but probably a bit overpriced. Tea was good tho!

Overrated - Edit
I was very curious about this place because all of the amazing reviews and the hype but to be honest I was disappointed. The idea is great because is the only place that offers vegan sushi but the result is still far from what I would consider delicious. I cannot say that I ate badly, but it simply wasn’t what I expected. The vegan tuna and the vegan salmon taste like nothing (I am aware that is difficult and it’s not their fault if the brand of vegan fish is not great) but the only taste was given by the sauce they put on top of the rolls. I also tried the takoyaki and the matcha tiramisu and also in this case the taste was not bad but nothing special (especially the tiramisu because it did not taste like matcha very much but more like yogurt). On the other hand, the crispy wings were very nice and tasty and I liked the yuzu lemonade as well. I am happy to have tried this place but for my personal taste I wouldn’t come again because for the experience their offer, the price is not worth it
