Fried stinky tofu and vermicelli stall at the Yansan Night Market located outside of a bubble tea shop and next to a FamilyMart. Offers large and small sizes of each. Cash only. Limited outdoor seating but also offers takeout. Open Mon-Tue 6:00pm-10:30pm, Thu-Sat 6:00pm-10:30pm. Closed Wed. & Sun.

Straightforward

The only vegan food option at Yansan Night Market, this stall run by an older couple serves up a heaping portion of fried stinky tofu and a decent vermicelli (although the broth lacks some depth). There are only about ten seats, so we had to wait a few minutes for a group of five to get up and clear some chairs for another party ahead of us. Even for dine-in customers, they only have single-use chopsticks, soup spoons, and dishware, which is a bit of a turn-off. At least I brought my own chopsticks! A couple of chain smokers nearby soured our dine-in experience though: not ideal to include secondhand smoke in the taste of your food.
