Convenient Vegan Food Truck - Edit
Usually when I stop for gas at Hangry Planet, I go inside and support them by also buying a vegan ice cream sandwich or chocolate bar. But occasionally when I’m getting gas and am also hungry, it’s also good to have a quick meal from the Vegan Mob food truck. It’s fantastic that there is a vegan truck stationed at the world’s only vegan gas station, it compliments the place and augments the selection of food items!
Read moreUpdate: I was tricked the last time I went there, hence reducing the rating from 4 to 3 stars. They were out of a side and instead of informing me, they just did 2 of a different side. They were counting on me not checking until after I left. Always check inside the container at this place to make sure they got it right
Additional update: I’ve downgraded this food truck from 4 to 3 and now to 2 stars. As convenient as the location is and as much as I want to like it, I just can’t. This time when I stopped for a meal while fueling up at the Hangry Planet station (which I still love), I saw a plastic bucket sitting on the outside counter of the truck near the order window right near the sidewalk (truck has also moved to the street due to rules against being to close to gas pumps, I presume.l). I didn’t know what it was and I ordered a mango lemonade along with my food. The employee said they would give me the food from the truck but I needed to walk up to the gas station’s store to receive the lemonade. Then I saw them pour something out of the bucket into a plastic cup and carry it up to the store. Turns out that the gas station store is where they fill water to mix with the mango syrup to make lemonade. I still have no idea why they were storing it outside by the dirty sidewalk. Not very hygienic. I’m sorry because I very rarely give such low ratings to businesses which I believe are genuinely trying to make the world a more vegan-friendly place. But Vegan Mob’s reliance on Impossible ingredients in most dishes combined with the dishonest experience I had earlier and questionable food hygiene and slow service and high prices and noisy generator all add up to an experience I’d rather skip. The best excuse I can imagine is that the owners of Vegan Mob pay very little attention to this truck and leave their employees with no training struggling to solve problems on their own without resources or help. They probably have good intentions but bad execution. I hope they improve in the future.

Accepted the order and the system put an Uber order so poor drivers kept on being sent to get my order for an hour but they were closed early (or maybe never opened for the day??) They didn't answer any of my messages and still charged me.

I love their food! My favorites are the chicken, bbq, shrimp, sweet potato, potato salad, and the po boy sandwiches. I would come here everyday if I could, but their prices are pretty steep now. It is located next to a gas station, which is hard to find parking.

Mother's Day Treat - Edit
I took my mom for take out at the Vegan Mob food truck in the parking lot of the Hangry Planet 24 hr plant-based convenience store. It was meant to be because someone drove out just as we were driving in freeing up parking. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman who answered all our questions and made suggestions for what we should try. It was so hard to choose because everything looked so good. They had just sold out of the ribs, so we got the Mob Plate with rib tips, cole slaw, macaroni and cheese, and candied yams, a peach mobbler shake, and a barbequito (bbq fusion burrito). We hauled all of this food to a nearby park with picnic tables and chowed down. All of the food was delicious, but by far the barbequito was a standout creative treat. A southern BBQ style burrito with baked beans, brisket, smackaroni, cole slaw, and guacamole. Whoever invented that is a genius. It was so filling that was our meal for the day, so plan to bring your appetite.

When I first tried Vegan Mob, it was during the pandemic and the food wasn't very good, so I didn't come back for years. But I gave it another shot and now I wish I hadn't been missing out this whole time. I got the mob plate for $38, which includes 3 proteins and 4 sides. Yes, it is worth the price. Its the only thing I havent been able to finish in one sitting. The spicy chicken is the best protein and the smackaroni is so delicious. I loved the yams too. It's so much food, so I still have baked beans left over for later, but those look great too.

When I found out there was a vegan food truck outside of a vegan market, I had to check it out! Vegan Mob is conveniently located right outside of Hangry Planet. I love when places are fully vegan because it means I can enjoy everything on the menu.
Read moreI ordered the combo plate (3 proteins and 4 sides) to share with my partner, and let me tell you, it was A LOT of food! Even with so many proteins and sides included, I had a hard time choosing because I wanted to try everything. Everything was 10/10 fantastic 🤩 Of course, I had to go back for some soft serve (my favourite kind of ice cream), and it was the perfect sweet treat to top off the meal 😋
If you’re in the area, you have to go and I know you’ll be blown away by their delicious soul food 🫶

Went to hangry planet for the first time and was surprised to find this food truck in the parking lot. Lots of great options. I wish I could try them all. Only thing I would say is that the chicken I got tasted a lot more like fish and chips fish than chicken but it was still pretty good. The sides were all good. Got Mac, fries, and potato salad.

The food is great. We really loved the rib tips, slaw, and mac/cheese. The fries were so well cooked.
Just like how we’ve always snacked at Hangry Planet, it’s really fun to people watch. People getting gas and buying their tobacco products, lottery tickets, and snacks, car wash customers, vegans coming to see what’s going on, and today, hundreds of 49er fans buying merch.
Well worth the field trip to San Bruno!

Excellent vegan food truck in the Mission District. I really enjoyed the cheesesteak sandwich (the bread could have been a bit better, otherwise, it was great). The vegan tacos were pretty good as well. I’d definitely eat here again when looking for a vegan junk food fix!
