Burgers were good. But A/C at 26?!? - Edit
We had the VFC burger and the waken baken burger, cauliflower wings and the ice cream sandwich. The burgers were good, especially the waken baken, and the wings were ok, but the ice cream sandwich was just not good at all. The restaurant was not cool, and we saw the A/C was set to 26 degrees! The staff weren’t allowed to adjust it either. So this made the experience a bit uncomfortable.

WTF? You’d have had to eat your ice cream sandwich quickly so it didn’t end up a pool on your plate. Having said that I enjoyed this place and don’t remember it being too hot when I was there. I got an ice cream cocktail so didn’t have to worry about it melting 😝

The ice cream wasn’t tasty at all in the sandwich! Yeah the a/c was on heat mode! The staff said they weren’t allowed to change the temperature. Maybe it was just that day?

Read moreThe salted caramel milkshake was perfect, they create home made ice cream, tasted pretty realistic (like cow milk) so keep that in mind if you like soy.
We had the loaded fries (curly), covered in a gooey cheese sauce with BBQ sauce and jalapeños 10/10.
We had two burgers, the spicy chicken burger 10/10 and the chicken tomato and bacon burger 9/10. The vegan chicken was super crispy. Prices inside 7%VAT tax which is common here.

Fantastic food! - Edit
I loved my meal here at vegan junkie. It's only about 200m from the main bus route which made it easy to get to. It definitely is more fake meat, dairy etc. but if you like that then this place is for you! I had the fish tacos and chicken wrap and would recommend both, it was a great balance of freshness and junk food. The double choc milkshake was also incredible, but very rich so I would recommend sharing between 2 people.

Amazing vegan junk food - Edit
Fantastic, little bit of a lower price point compared to other western vegan places I have been to in Thailand. Had the phish burger, phish and chips and a margarita pizza. Didn’t have to wait long at all for food. Very clean looking establishment. Will definitely be returning. Lovely staff.

I only went here because I was waiting for one of my friends who was at one of the dive shops nearby. I struggled to find anything healthy or without fake meat. Ended up ordering the falafel salad. It was basically a bowl of lettuce with 4 falafel balls on top. The falafel was too dense and not evenly cooked. They don't have juice, only smoothies that taste like ice cream. My omnivore friend enjoyed it, but I can't see coming here with my vegan friends.

We travelled some distance to get to Vegan Junkie and found it empty when we got there around lunch time. They server was very good at his job, if not super friendly, and service was quick and competent. I started off with a mango smoothie, which was not what I expected: it was snow-white, possibly from the coconut, thick as ice cream and, despite this texture, dilute in flavour. We ordered the chicken burger and the tuna salad, both of which were kind of nice and quite substantial, although neither of the fake meats were convincing. I felt like drinky-poos and dessert, so we combined the two by having an ice cream cocktail, an utterly delicious choc-mint concoction, which went down a treat, as did the sneaky pornstar martini I also ordered. As its name implies, the restaurant specialises in food that’s a bit on the junky side (although by no means is all of it unhealthy), so while I enjoyed our lunch there, this place is like a sometimes treat.

Christmas Day feast - Edit
Amazing! Huge amount of choices. I brought my mum and dad here who are meat eaters (on Christmas Day!) Both had reservations about eating here, especially for a Christmas Day dinner.. they were concerned they’d be hungry, and weren’t sure about “vegan” food. However both were won over after eating the incredible food that was dished up! We had the Wake ‘n’ Bacon, and Hot Chick burgers, cauliflower wings that were so crunchy and a fan favourite, spicy hummus which came with perfectly warm flatbread pieces, and my mum loved her sweet potato fries and mac ‘n’ cheez! Will definitely be coming back during the next 2 weeks while I’m still here in Phuket.

We dined here after visiting the Big Buddha and Chalong Temple as they’re close by, the staff are so friendly and food really delicious. Extensive menu didn’t know what to pick!

I have been vegan just over five years and I’ve been to, and tried many different vegan restaurants and foods in that time. I make no exaggeration when I say that this place is by far and away the best vegan food joint I have ever eaten at.

The welcoming nature of the staff is so lovely to experience and my wife and I were immediately recommended a large table as opposed to a smaller one because they suggested we have the room to spread our food out!
The menu is packed with a huge array of all kinds of vegan “junk food” such as cauliflower wings, burgers and wraps of all kinds, hot dogs, main meals, pizza, desserts and ice cream shakes. It was almost too difficult to decide what to eat!
The preparation of the food is clearly a priority of the restaurant as my wife and I waited no longer than 10 minutes for our food to arrive.
The taste of the food is, in a word, delicious! I was so relieved that the restaurant had two sliding doors because I was worried I wouldn’t fit out a single doorway with all that I ate (that’s a joke.)
I am seriously so impressed with this restaurant and everything I have mentioned. I never usually bother to write reviews but this was such an incredible experience that I knew that I had to contribute (even if it was in a small way) to spreading the word of this utterly amazing place!
If you are in Phuket, please do yourself a favour and try Vegan Junkie out. Even if you have to go completely out of your way to experience it. You will not regret it!

Huge menu with options including burgers, pizzas and hot dogs. Mum and I ordered the fish tacos, spinach cigars, classic burger and the VFC burger. All food was incredible, but the fish tacos were some of the best food I’ve ever eaten.

Chicken burger was probably the best one I’ve ever had! Mac and cheese small serve but tasty. Caramel bar was yum. Ordered from Grab as I was feeling lazy. Worked out pricey, comparable to Western prices but worth it for a vegan junk food fix.
