If you’re lucky enough to live somewhere vegan junk food is readily available you may not be blown away by the food necessarily but the super friendly staff, quick service and perfectly executed junk food menu are definitely worth a look here. I had the chick’n burger and fries, the portions were huge and the flavours great. Relaxed diner vibes and a good place to refuel if you’re in the vondelpark area.

This was our first Vegan restaurant to try in Amsterdam and we were happy with the food. We ordered the "chick'n" burger, the double pattied burger, truffle fries and their fries with the shrwarma. We loved everything but the shrwarma fries because the curry taste didn't quite go well with fries. We felt a bit heavy after eating here but was worth it! There are four locations of the Vegan junk food bar. This is their first and original location.

If you like junk food this is paradise! Mega burgers, giant shawarma, huge hot dogs, bitter balls and much much more. If you didn't know that all the menu is vegan you couldn't guess just by tasting. Junk food at its best!!!

We ordered the original vfjb, sweet potato fries, Parma truffle fries & the daddy mc chikn and 2 drinks. The burgers came out in about 3 minutes - on first inspection they looked ok, I took a bite it was stone cold. The parm fries which are supposed to replicate Parmesan truffle fries were not fries but chips. They also dumped half a can of nooch on the chips which made it look like they had put fish food all over the chips and I could not eat them no hint of truffle. The burger had more bun and salad than actual burger, the bun was not toasted so if they are only cooking a burger for a couple minutes then putting cold stuff in without a warm bun you’ll get a cold burger. Little tweaks need to be made to make this place great. Seating area is cramped and I really don’t feel it’s good value for over £30 2 people eating burgers. It’s actually ridiculous. People who go here must not have eaten a burger in a long time hence why they enjoy it. I really don’t understand? They forgot to give us our drinks, and service is abysmal.

VJFB at Staringplein is my least favorite in town. Sloppy service, they forget a lot of stuff especially drinks, food sometimes gets served cold-ish. Probably just too small a kitchen for the crowds they serve. And just as every VJFB: crazy expensive.

Proper junk food. Huge burgers and the loaded fries were amazing. Did have to wait almost an hour to get our food, I think everyone in the restaurant was getting a bit fed up at one point as bags and bags of food were going out the door all the time for delivery drivers but nothing for anyone eating in.

Read moreFriendly staff, good food, as for the prices - take in mind that prices were increased a bit recently. They have 3 branches in total at this moment (they are going to open a new one really soon).
This one is at Staringplein is labelled as VJFB BurgerBar. The one in De Pijp and Eastside are labelled as VJFB Restaurant. I personally haven't noticed a difference in the menu.

The vegan steak is not homemade and does not taste good.
We know so many over place with homemade vegan steak who serve better burger.
That's why I can't agree with the many over-positives reviews about this place.
I will not return here unless absolutely necessary.

Read moreBut I wanted to give it a try and visited the bar a second time. Had the classic VJFB burger with sweet potato fries. Didn't take long and the food was on the table, burger was really great, the large serving of fries surprised me.
This place is really just for a fast bite.

Since this location of VJFB is not in the nicest location (compared to Marie Heinekenplein) you'd more likely to go here for a quick bite. You'll not encounter a waiting time here so ordering is quick. However you can expect to wait half an hour or more for your food.

As all the rest of the reviews go, I too really love the food here. So incredibly delicious!!! I got the Sumo burger and the cheese was so great and the mint tea had really mint leaves to flavor, this is food made out of love and quality ingredients.

We did the main restaurant and this one. Main one is really good and awesome. This one needs improvement. Notorious sumo burger has an unnecessary ultra spicy pepper that kills that really good burger and makes you really really hot. Toilets ARE WAY TOO SMALL especially for women and restaurant needs to be cleaner on the floor. Food was really good

Delicious food and friendly waiters. We were told we would have to wait 20 minutes, but the wait ended up being 50 minutes long! (We came to eat at 19h15). Overall I would go back.
