Not to my taste unfortunately. Can't get my head around the food colouring and ruining the taste with it. Waitress helped advise despite never eaten anything there due to allergies to gluten(same as my husband) no GF options. Quite big portions don't need to order the side dishes unless you're sharing in my opinion.

the Burguers are so tasty, and there is alot of different nice options. it was a rainy day and I had to wait a little bit outside (with a awning) but the waiting was worth it. very friendly place and the attedents were great. full vegan with accessible prices.

A visit to the VJFB is a must for every vegan craving Junkfood. Whoever got the idea to fry Mac‘n‘Cheeze into bitterballen was a genius. We just got a selection of startes (aka Sumo Platter) with some funky sauces and were not disappointed. Also very spacious restaurant with seating options upstairs as well as outside.

There were loads of options on the menu, all of which looked excellent. We had the Daddy burger and the shawarma burger. The shawarma burger in particular was huge! Both were incredibly tasty. We ordered a side of bratwurst fries and Thai peanut balls. The fries were great but the Thai balls were just ok - the insides were just sauce. Loads of different options for drinks, too.

Returning after 2 years and despite the awesome decor and music vibe, we’re sad to see less staff, QR code menus and done and dusted in 20 minutes. The food is great, but the experience makes us sad. Less running costs no doubt, but also less communication, conversation, human 💔

The kalamari rings and the shrimp were delicious and truly very similar to seafood I had before I became vegan (sad times, but I eventually saw the light!)
The peanut bitterballs were too heavy and not at all balanced in terms of taste and flavours.

Lives up to its name! - Edit
First night in Amsterdam and we hit the Vegan Junk Food Bar for dinner. I did some research prior to our trip and knew I had to try this place. It didn't disappoint!
Read moreThe restaurant seemed to be very "hip" and it was quite busy when we arrived. Menus are available via QR code at the table and orders are taken through the linked app/site. We're old-school so we asked for printed menus, which is better if you're a visitor w/out a local data plan.
First order of business was "Sips". I had the Tipsy Unicorn and hubby had the VJFB 4 President. Drinks did not disappoint. Tasty and potent. After a while, they got to be a little too sweet, but the food helped with that.
Food started with the Sumo Platter. We love ordering samplers as we get to try a lot of different things on the menu. We had never had "butterballs" before, and we were surprised when we discovered the insides to not be solid. Everything on this sampler platter was super-tasty and we were exciting to get our mains.
Instead of ordering everything at once, we decided to order as we went along. Unfortunately, the app/site for ordering kept giving us errors so we had to flag down an employee to make sure our orders actually went through. This is the problem with too much technology!
Hubby ordered the VJFB™ Notorious and I ordered the Kapsalon fries. He really enjoyed his burger, but I was expecting something different than what I had ordered. The portion of the fries didn't seem to be a lot, but I was full after that Sumo Platter. I probably wouldn't order loaded fries again, but stick with a burger.
We were happy with the food we got and the friendly staff. We might go back again after hitting more vegan restaurants in the city.
Pros: Tasty food, Large portions for the most part, Friendly and helpful staff

the food here is absolutely incredible! almost definitely one of the best vegan burgers i have ever ever had. i had the *fish burgee* whilst my boyfriend has the Mc Cruelty free. The mc cruelty free was so juicy and so flavourful and they *fish brurgee* was so fresh and not at all dissimilar to real fish! often with burger places/ fast food vegan restaurants the food tends to be slightly greasy and sloppy but the burgers here were so perfect in every way, they weren’t to greasy, weren’t to sloppy, definitely weren’t to small but also weren’t too big. so amazing, I wish there was one in the UK so i could visit once i’m home but this will be the first place i visit again on my next trip to Amsterdam. amazing!
