Read moreActually, the only thing which does not taste as the meat equivalent is the tonna sashimi: same texture, same color, but not the same taste (even if it’s excellent!)
All the rest have the same taste (including the salmon sashimi).
Also, you’ll be able to taste a delicious craft beer from Two Chefs Brewing which is only sold here😄

VJFB is really a great place to get your junk food fix in Amsterdam. The restaurants are decked out great and the food is pretty and definitely tasty. The service was great at this branch too. The only thing is that it is a little too pricey for some items, especially the loaded fries. The betterballen are lekker though, so definitely order those.

This is what i like. It's junkfood, but vegan. And it tastes awesome. We took the bratwurst, coconut curry bitterballen and regular bitterballen and it was all so, so good. I need to say we waited a little long for our food, but in general i liked everything, the food and the place itself.

I am new in the vegan business and I cannot explain the wonderful taste I had in my mouth with a mix of bacon, beef, cheese and the salad (Royal Smash Burger). I also tried the shrimps and chicken nuggets! It might be a hipster place but the taste is great and that’s what matters!

Proper vegan junk food, not healthy at all, but super tasty and fancy. Very different! Highly recommend! We had two different burgers and the Kapsalon w/ truffle sauce. Especially the fries we highly recommend!

people would get hooked because it looks like a hipster place. i think it‘s good to hook people who are not veggie or vegan. for me personal, i don‘t need fake tuna. but it‘s interesting to have the option. everything is colorful (even the buns) and junky. nice place, staff is a bit slow.

We had a great meal that looked and tasted great, but it is comparable with other vegan kapsalons we ate at less popular places. Therefore, we felt that the price was a bit high.

VJFB brings you great and satisfying food. I've been here many times and the food is always good, the atmosphere nice and the staff friendly. Interesting new options, desserts, and great cocktails too! Definitely the type of food your non vegan friends would love too- if they are also into junkfood of course :)

Food is tasty, great for junk food fans. Most of the menu is fried stuff, but there's also some salads and non-fried burgers. The "shrimps" and the vegan sausage were a delight. Not too expensive. The place is cool and esthetic and so is the food.

This little edgy place is fantastic. Loads of great options including collabs, really tasty food - my carnivore boyfriend rated his Notorious Sumo burger as “the best burger he’d ever had” - and while not cheap, you get a lot for your money. Would’ve been 5 stars but the fact that they don’t accept cash is pretty inconvenient especially for tourists.

I had the Daddy McChick’n burger and my brother (meat eater) has the original burger and we shared the waffle fries. Both enjoyed our food immensely. We had a bit of a wait and the food is a bit pricey but it was worth it!

Deceptive Marketing and Boring Food - Edit
I hate to leave bad reviews for vegan restaurants but I really feel shortchanged with Vegan Junk Food bar.
Read moreThe main reason is that they claim on the menu that their burger is their special blend or some other romanticized marketing language.
In reality, it’s just the beyond burger.
You could go to the grocery store 1 minute down the street and get it for 5.99 and make it better yourself.
The other food is also just pretty boring. Standard fried stuff that I could go get at a regular non-vegan pub place. Maybe not the bitterballen, but whatever.
Most of the stuff is just basic fried foods that are mostly vegan anyway.
If they can’t even step up their mock meat game or come with something creative, what’s the point of going to a place like this?
