Nice menu, decent japchae - Edit
Definitely worth trying this place. I had the japchae set menu and wasn't completely blown away by the japchae, but it was tasty for sure.

Nice morally driven fare but in your face - Edit
There is a video showing graphic animal factory farming which is a bit intense. Also with some anti abortion messages😒nice space and food otherwise

Delicious soba, interesting fusion cuisine! - Edit
We loved this place so much we went back a second time to try more things! We enjoyed the soba noodles, the fried "chicken," the kimchi quesadilla, the chili "shrimp", and the tuna fried rice. Everything was delicious. They also have signs in English explaining what veganism is and confirming that their food is free from honey, eggs, dairy, etc. Note that Korean does not have a word to differentiate between "vegan" and "vegetarian" so some things will be labeled vegan incorrectly. However, here, you can gobble down your meal without worrying about any animal products. Highly recommend! My omni friend really loved this place as well - don't miss it!!

Vibe was chill and friendly - the mandu are the best I’ve had and the dipping sauce was PHENOMENAL.

Cute little vegan place in the heart of Insa - Edit
A cool little vegan spot in Insa serving a lot of great vegan versions of Korean food!
Read moreFirstly, the staff here are super friendly and it’s a nice atmosphere inside. There is however a TV with Ching Hai cult propaganda which frankly automatically lowers my rating, it just creeps me out.
I came here twice while I was here. It’s fine to go as a solo traveller but be aware it filled up VERY fast both times I went (essentially full by 5:30pm after opening for dinner at 5pm so either arrive at 5 or be prepared to wait for a bit).
Out of the options I had, the tteokbokki was great, vegan chicken was decent (if a bit tasteless), dumplings were very ‘meh’ although great portion size, and the bulgogi was pretty good!
Pros: Efficient ordering process, Interesting menu, Nice staff
Cons: some of the menu options are worse than others, Ching Hai affiliated with TV propaganda

Really cozy restaurant.
Read moreHad the Korean fried chicken but not really impressed by it, but maybe I am spoiled from knowing how good mock chicken can be in other countries. I would not get it again.
However, the rice cake soup was very good and also the vegan bulgogi menu. I would love to come again to try their other dishes as well 🥰 definitely a place to go to for Korean vegan food

Great Korean vegan food - Edit
We had a great dinner at Vegan Insa in Seoul! We tried the vegan shrimp, which had a shrimp-like texture but a surprisingly good flavor. The Korean chik’n was also delicious, and the rice cakes were a little spicy but really tasty. We also had the rice cake dumpling soup — I liked it, though it had a bit too much seaweed for my taste since I’m not a big fan of fishy flavors. The mandu was really good too!
Read moreOverall, the food quality was great, the service was fast, and the staff were super friendly. There was no wait to be seated even though the restaurant stayed consistently full while we were there for dinner. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re looking for solid vegan Korean food in Seoul! 🌱
Pros: Large selection , Large portion everything is shareable
Cons: No alcohol

Friendly, bright and nourishing - Edit
I had had a busy day and was suddenly starved in Insa-dong and Happy Cow came to the rescue, telling me about this gem -- just a few minutes walk from the Main Street. Greeted by a shining happy server who guided me to the best dishes (and a great table overlooking a peaceful garden), friendly and inclusive, by the time I left I'd made two friends AND had a takeaway to bring back to my hotel for dinner. Super delicious, mega-friendly and a joyful oasis in the midst of the bustle.

Disappointed - Edit
I was very hungry & looking forward to some mock meat & rice noodles… sadly the food I had was barely edible.. i just finished a vegan tour all in several places in Korea & believe me there are restaurants that have amazing delish meals! Mock meat, veggies, apps, salads & desserts. At Vegan Insa, I even ordered 2 dishes ahead of time to go for tomorrow in case .. (friend chicken) (rice noodle & dumpling soup) yikes a mistake. The owner was kind, friendly & food came out quickly.. tteokbokki was smothered in unappealing sauce.. dumplings in it also smothered, had hard parts, flavorless. … Fried chik was barely chewable w/ primarily greasy fried outer coating. Cldnt get them down… so sorry to be truthful.. people were there & kept coming in for orders so some are happy.. I’m a long time veggie soul & my choices were quite awful. Mock meats can be delightfully tasteful & tender. if the food I mentioned is all you’ve samples here please try try again elsewhere!

Delicious and affordable Korean food. Very friendly staff in a cozy, vibey atmosphere. Among the dishes several options of very good vegan fried chicken, a thought provoking dish: Kimchi Quesadilla and much more. I'll be back.
