Decent range of stock but far too expensive! - Edit
Every time I come in here I am shocked by the price. They have a decent range of stock and I understand that a lot of their stuff is imported so it’s more expensive for them. However, there are other shops in the city that sell the same things but manage to not make it so you have to remortgage your house to buy something from them.
Read moreFor example, they sell Schmidt’s Deodorant for around $20.20 whereas a local organic shop up the road manages to sell it for $17.95. This is the theme running throughout the shop, everything is a couple of dollars more than other retailers (including independent businesses) in the city. This really adds up if you’re buying a few things! It also adds to the reputation of veganism as being really expensive!
I’m also not a fan of the name “cruelty free” but that’s another story.

I love coming here as it has so many vegan goodies and merchandise. It supports vegan charities which is a bonus. The prices are on the higher end, but it’s expensive to run a store in Fitzroy.

Great 100% vegan store with a huge range of products. I find something new every time I visit! The team is very friendly and has a wealth of knowledge about the products and new brands. They also run regular tastings from vegan wine to chocolate and pizza - yum!

I went here looking for some Valentine’s Day chocolates and had great success! I found a great collection for my man, and will definitely return here for chocolates in future. Really nice how they had lots of local things such as Edgar’s Mission wares and Red Balloon lollies too. Only downside is some thing are are very overpriced eg. Beyond Burgers we’re $17.

Great ethos behind the business - I would love to support them more, but unfortunately the prices are generally a bit high. It's OK for the stuff that you can't find anywhere else, but some things that they sell which are widely available are also marked up. On the other hand they do offer great discounts sometimes so you can be lucky! Definitely visit if you're from out of town as the range is huge!

A visitor to Melbourne, I went to this shop when I heard there was a bake sale happening to help Edgar’s Mission. The spacious store sells a wide range of food products as well as message t-shirts, purses, books, home and personal care items and more. Maybe on the pricey side, but it’s so good to have an all-vegan grocery store, where we don’t have to read the labels! Snack bars, chocolate, salty snacks, condiments, quick meals, chilled and frozen products.( I think the shop is still closed [Oct. 2018] after damage from an arson fire in the back lane. Their online store is still active though!)
