Not really a "vegan" food tour - Edit
We met as arranged for the tour which was 12 to 2.30pm. The "Vegan Food Tour" was very disappointing in that the first stop was for a couple of bread type snacks at a local bakery. They were bland, dry and a bit tasteless. We had to eat these on the street with nothing to drink.
Read moreThe next food stop for an Arancini didn't happen because when we turned up at Sfrigola, they were closed. Our guide forgot they closed on a Tuesday.
Our final stop was at a small cafe where we shared a small plate of caponata albeit it with a beer each. We were left there at 1.45 — around 45 minutes short of the time and really disappointed in the choices of food we had sampled.
The street tour was informative and interesting but that is not what we came for.
Because Sfrigola was closed we were given a voucher for a beer at a local pub which didn't open until 6pm.
We paid 100 euros in total for the tour.
Pros: We had an individual tour
Cons: Limited food options , Nothing to drink with the food until the end , More focus on the area rather than the food

I am sorry Stephen that you didn’t like my experience, however, let me reply to few things you wrote about the experience:
Read moreThe tour you booked is not a vegan food tour but it is a street food tour adapted for many people such as vegans, so you were actually lucky to be alone but you could be with other people in the tour not vegans like you..
I still remember your disappointed face when you asked me straight away when we met “how long have you been vegan”? I remind you that the policy of my tours is to include and don’t discriminate anyone!
Concerning the “tasteless and dry “bread you tried , well, you tryed sfincione and bread with Panella that are the most delicious street food in Sicily and honestly nobody complained till now about the delicious food as you can read in the hundreds of feedbacks I have..
“You had to eat on the street”because again you booked a street food tour, if you don’t want to eat on the street and choose the food next time I suggest you to book a restaurant and read carefully the description of the experiences before booking another one..
You couldn’t try arancina because in this period (low season) some places where I usually go are closed but I offered you in alternative a huge plate (not small one as you said)of caponata in a restaurant (not small cafe as you said)..
I did left you half an hour before but just because we had finished earlier the whole tour..
Again next time I suggest you to book a restaurant and choose the food..
You didn’t mentioned at all the tour you did when I told you the whole story of Cefalu ..
I gently offered you also a voucher for a beer not included in the tour and you didn’t appreciated it
You paid 100 euros for a walking tour with professional tour guide plus 3 huge portions of food (and the owner of the last restaurant where we went also offered you lots of extra bruschetta with local pates )and craft beers.. again next time read carefully everything..
Regards,
Ambra.

Wonderful experience - Edit
I’m so glad I found Ambra’s tour! I was actually looking for other places to visit near Palermo, but sometimes it's hard to find plant based options in restaurants. Ambra was very nice from the very beginning, answering all my questions and trying to organise the tour according to my schedule. The tour couldn’t be better! She’s very knowledgeable about her village, and will not only walk you through its marvellous streets, but will also tell you about its history and some really interesting legends. And, of course, the food. I could finally get to try the famous arancina (the vegan version) and almond and pistacchio granita (sooo good!). I would highly recommend anyone visiting Cefalù to contact Ambra and book a tour with her, she won’t disappoint.

I can’t remember the names, unfortunately. It was all part of a walking tour. But you can always ask Ambra, the tour organiser, who wrote a comment above :)

Very Delicious and Fun - Edit
We had an excellent time learning about the unexpected parts of cefalu and the food was delicious! We saw sights and ate food that we would have never found by ourselves. Ambra was very kind and knowledgeable and it was great to have conversations with her as we learned about the town. 😄😄 my partner was very especially happy that she got to try arancina for the first time and very grateful to have an opportunity to eat the vegan version! A great tour if you love good food (vegan and everything else) and mythology! 😄 thank you!

Amazing food and Magical Stories - Edit
The tour was absolutely fantastic. Ambra was an amazing guide and story teller, showing us places in Cefalu we would never have discovered and learning so much about the towns history. She geared the food around sicilian food that was often accidentally vegetarian, explaining all of its Arab heritage along the way. We were so full by the end! Finishing the tour off with a beer was the perfect way to end it too. Would recommend this tour to anyone. Especially good to do it on one of your first days of your trip to Cefalu so that you can keep going back to the recommended places and trying more foods!

Ambra was amazing ✨ - Edit
Ambra was super knowledgeable about the history of Cefalu and local legends, you could tell she was really passionate about the town and it's not hard to see why.
Read moreThe tour was really interesting and fun and she was very easy to chat to. She explained the contents and history of each dish and there was so much food to be had! All absolutely delicious, and the whole experience was great value for money. I really recommend to any travellers looking to try authentic "accidentally vegan" Sicilian street food.
