AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I will repost this as many times as I have to. I shouldn’t even be surprised that she’s been taking reviews down..

We have had similar experiences to others at our wedding in
2021. I had similar things happen where certain information was confirmed over the phone about deposits, when the food was being delivered etc and conveniently, those bits of information had been changed when I spoke to her a month or so later. And being so stressed planning a wedding, I didn’t question it as I thought I’d just misremembered.
Our food was delivered and about 1/3 of the food was missing, meaning guests had to go and buy extra food and the only plates were the size of cake plates! We still had to tell our guests to eat lightly which made us feel awful. From originally contacting Lynn in August where she initially said she was
"mortified" and would get to the bottom of it that very day, I only got a partial refund in January!
And that was only after threatening to add a very negative review to this site if she didn't sort out the refund. She finally complied but I got a pathetic reply saying how she “chooses to keep going”
and “look at the positives”…basically implying she'd rather just forget any awful mistakes she’s made and she doesn't care if she ruined someone's wedding?!?! She also implied that people were making false allegations about HER! Also it made me laugh out loud that she said she believed in karma and believed everyone would receive their karma for their actions!! I don’t even believe in karma, but if I did, she’s not got any good karma coming her way, that’s for sure!! can't believe how many more negative reviews have been left on here since I last checked, it's absolutely devastating so many people have been scammed and had their special day ruined! We were lucky that we at least got some food and some money back. I hope everyone will eventually get their money back and justice will be served!

AVOID THIS SCAMMER - CURRENTLY REQUESTING A CCJ AGAINST HER

We unfortunately didn't see the awful reviews of Lynn (vegan food pimp) until we had already sent her half of the agreed amount for the catering for our wedding in Nov 2022.

We cancelled a few months before but we're now going down the legal route and have just requested a county court judgement against her for this money.

FYI we are (and I'm sure everyone here is too) well within our legal right to receive all our money back. As no contractual terms had been stipulated or agreed around cancellations, we had 12 months and 14 days to cancel from the day after the contract was made (i.e. when we first booked with Vegan Food Pimp). As we cancelled before this expiry date, we were within our legally stated window to cancel and receive back money transferred minus any proven and reasonable incurred costs. This falls under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 within Services under Reasonable price to be paid for a service.

Not going to give up on this but best to avoid this low life at all costs!

ABSOLUTE SCAM ARTIST

Do not use Vegan Food Pimps/Lynn Nicholson! She is a complete scam artist! She agreed to pay us a refund and is now ignoring us and has removed all of the negative reviews on here. I've spoken to other couples who had the same (some had a lot worse) experience with her. Here's a summary of the shambles of a day we experienced with Lynn:

- ignoring us and the venues emails leading up to the day
- turning up 2 hours late with no staff
- Serving burnt food
- Serving people that were allergic to certain food that exact food - eg allergy to onions and she served them an onion tart
- sending out a Facebook post the day before desperately trying to find staff to serve on the day. The staff were rude and did not know what they were doing. One walked out because it was all such a complete mess.
- My bridesmaids had to serve champagne as she did not have enough staff and she was rude to them all day
- Serving food we did not approve. She served pink pasta which we hadn't ever even mentioned, tried or asked for!
- Serving horrible boiled vegetables we had specifically asked not to have. My husband left most of his meal it was so bad.

She agreed to pay us back a 25% refund as neither of us wanted to go through the small claims court. At over £6,000 for the food, I expected a significantly better experience.

Since then, she has changed her email address 3 times, agreed to pay us our refund by a certain date 5 times (yet we have still received nothing) and ignored us repeatedly.

I have now reported her to the business trading standards and unfortunately, it looks like we will have to go down the court route. Not something to look forward to, especially considering how she ruined our day.

Do not fall for her ruse of pretending to love animals and care about your wedding. She certainly does not.

The same thing happened to me! Lynn owes us money from our wedding and nearly two years later she has completely ignored us and not paid us back! She also gave celiac guests seitan steak, and our food was cold! So disappointing and I'm sorry you had a bad experience too.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience too. I've been contacted by several other people on here since leaving this review and they had awful experiences as well. It's so appalling and dangerous giving allergic people food they can't eat. I hope you manage to get your money back from her in the future - it's so sad how many people's wedding she's messed up😒

Gone down the court route and she hasn't responded to the CCJ that's been issued to her. Will be taking next steps now..

So sorry to hear about your bad experiences…
We also have tried the court route but there has been no response, not sure of the next steps now. Especially as the business is listed to the Brighton address but that is incorrect…

AVOID

They take a deposit and communicate with you until a few weeks before the event. Then they go silent and don't show up. Refunds are impossible and they give excuse after excuse.
Avoid.

Cons: A con, Scam, Theif

Delicious Roast And More

February 2018 update: VFP has taken it the next level at the Saint George's Inn! We went there for international Pancake day and were blown away by the options and creativity. Couldn't skip the Mac 'n cheese even though we ordered 4 big pancakes - can't wait to get back and try the rest of the menu!

Had our first roast with the Vegan Food Pimp this Sunday. Absolutely delicious. Staff was friendly and helpful. The food was creative and the portions were generous. Make sure you come hungry. Thanks VFP :-)

Great meal out

Vegan Food Pimp at the Marlborough pub in Brighton. It is a nice rustic country pub feel place
I went in for sunday roast
Mushroom & Leek Cheezy Wrap
Rosemary Roasted Potatoes
Steamed cabbage
Carrots roasted in fresh orange juice
Mange Tout
Thick delicious gravy
Orange chocolate cake with chocolate sauce
Food was really good, Nothing was over cooked, all nice, fresh and tasty. There were plently of roast potatoes which is always a plus in my book. Staff were friendly, will go again. I booked in advance expecting it to be very busy but was actually quiet in there. I don't think it has been discovered by enough peopleto be jam packed yet but Sunday roast booking is advised. It is easy to get to on bus etc but a little tucked away being close to main roads but not actually on a main road. I liked that because I am a natural hermit type person and find noisy busy environments a challenge. This place is great, I recommend it. Good location very easy walking distance from Royal Pavillion and Gardens as well as Palace Peer and seafront if fancy a stroll after eating. A good place to get away to and chill out after shopping in the lanes. Walking distance from Brighton station and very close to several bus routes.

Pros: Great food, Vegan Kitchen, Nice location

Cons: Not in Hove

I'd recommend this place

I've eaten here a few times now and the quality is always amazing! I've had the Sunday roast, the curry and the tortilla and each was really tasty, and a huge portion. The banoffee pie with ice cream and hot chocolate sauce was a real highlight.

What really makes the food stand out is the price. The huge bowl of curry and rice with naan bread and raita was only £4.95, with concessions offered.

The pub is the ideal place to stay all day catching up with friends.

Pros: Great quality, Taste, Cost
