Previously a food cart, now a small restaurant that serves vegan Thai food. Serves vegan laap with mushrooms and soy protein as substitutes. Comes with sticky rice. Take away possible, although you'll get the laap and rice separately in plastic bags (no foam). Menu may change throughout the year. Owner does not speak English but is helpful and menu is in English and Thai. Most of the dishes have Isaan province origins. Reported closed, Dec '22.

Great food, lovely owner

Although the sign says „vegetarian food“ it is all vegan. We went there twice because the food was delicious and the owner is a lovely woman. She speaks little english, but as she has a thai-english menu, communication is easy. Portions are a bit small, but as every dish is just 40 Baht there is nothing at all to complain. We always shared 3 dishes between the two of us. Everything we had was very tasty. Our favourite dish was the steamed rice with stir-fried spicy vegetable protein!

Pros: completely vegan, low priced

Cons: closed in the evening

Hidden Gem

The food was fantastic. The woman who runs this sweet little restaurant was so nice and grateful, not to mention a great cook. Prices are cheap and the food is super fresh, and is all made to order (and comes surprisingly quickly). The mushroom laab is a must have.

Wonderful, more than 5 star.

Clean Tidy place with wonderful food. Cooked and served by a lovely smiley lady who I think is the owner.

Pros: Lots of choices on an English menu, Clean and Every thing cooked fresh, No drinks but we were directed to CJ supermarket

Cons: She should profit from selling drinks. , I wish I spoke Thai to speak to this lady. , Nothing negative.

Very tasty Vegan food

Very small 'restaurant'. A lovely lady welcomes you, very friendly. The menu is quite big, but everything also in English so very convenient.

We ordered the spicy Thai mushroom salad, fried rice and fried meat substitute strings. Very good. Really inexpensive and you get a waterbottle for free.

We found this place yesterday but then it was closed (4 pm we checked and around 6 pm we checked again).

This morning at 10am it was opened so it seems to be opened in the morning until early in the afternoon?

Or maybe it was closed because of Newyearsday, we cannot tell because the lady speaks hardly any English 😉.

Super Fresh, Masterful Issan เจ Food.

Though I’ve not been to Isaan, I live in Bangkok, and this is the best vegan Isaan I’ve eaten to date.
Naa, the owner is very sweet. Prices are as low as they get (She operates on a subsistence model rather than a profit model).

I had a papaya salad which was nice. The owner was adorable and she even offered me some extra watermelon. Also, the place looked super clean.

Almost everything is 40 bht.

Cute, reliable, fresh little spot

Extensive menu of Thai classics, mostly stir-fry rice and noodle dishes with plenty of fresh veggies and many featuring mushrooms 🍄. Dishes normal (small) Thai style but just 40baht each. The lady is lovely with bubbly energy, making the food & simple atmosphere infused with love and good vibes. Loved the steamed rice w stir-fried mushrooms and basil. Papaya salad is made ‘authentic’ w fishy sauce.. sure hope it’s the ‘jay’ variety.

Pros: Many dishes to choose from, all at same low price, Super-friendly lady

Cons: Portions are smallish so best to order 2 dish pp

Great food and cheap.

Opening hours below are incorrect. It’s Saturday and I’m sat here about to eat some lovely food.
Also it’s no longer a cart. See below for how to find.
Came yesterday and had stir fried mushroom, holy basil and rice and it was fantastic. The owner doesn’t speak much English but now has a menu that is in English. I have uploaded photos.
Very cheap plate of food for 40bht that tasted delicious.
If using maps to find it you will come to a big shop CJ express To the left of the shop there is a road (alley) it is just down there on the left. With a big vegetarian food sign.
Ignore that the menu looks a bit tatty (new menu now 11/3/19). The place is clean and the food is fresh. She cooks it there and then.
If in a large group you may have a wait as she is on her own cooking.
Also to add.
She asked me how spicy I wanted food 1/2/3 with 3 being the hottest.
Today I’m back I’ve opted for 4 🌶🌶🌶🌶and the food is fantastic again.
You have to try here some of the best food I’ve eaten in Thailand.
It is also now on google maps as vegan/vegetarian restaurant if you zoom in on alley

Came again today on way back to Bangkok from Sangkhlaburi. Worth the stop.
She has a new menu now with extra things on it.
See new pictures.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Tasty, Menu in English

Good food

As others have mentioned, the lady that runs the place only speaks Thai so there was a bit of a communication problem. However I don't expect anyone to speak English so there you go. Using Google translate on my phone I was able to ask what items on the menu were not spicy since the majority of them said the word spicy in the English language name. She got across to me that any item can be ordered not spicy. So I ordered the Som Tum (shredded papaya salad), and fried tofu, which turned out to be thin strips of tofu that were deep fried and very greasy. I definitely recommend the salad I had but not those tofu strips. The prices are definitely very good here (salad was only 40 baht) and the shredded salad was good. I didn't think the lady running the place was very friendly at all, in fact she actually ignored me a little bit even though I was the only customer there. When trying to find this place, the map marker is off by a little bit. If you are facing the grocery store, the food stand is located in the small alley to the left of the food store.

Very cute restaurant

Adorable old lady serves great tasting vegetarian food. She prepares everything fresh right under your nose. Communication was a bit hard since the didn't speak English but it worked out. My only concern was a small hygiene concern, since the English menu she gave me and the other guest was very moldy, but I didn't get sick and I got to taste great food so no objections from me.

Pros: Great taste, Authetic , Cheap

Cons: Doesn't speak english, Moldy menu

Nice food nice owner

There are some nice options, but a bit limited. Have a feeling that there might be a few other options if you can communicate what you want in Thai. Everything is 40 baht.

Communication not great, but it is a genuine vegetarian business, rather than a tourist orientated vegetarian place charging twice as much. Hope she sticks around and continues to do well for years to come.

Delicious Thai food

I came here for lunch today, there were no other customers but it is quite hidden so I'm not surprised. She offered free water and ice cubes. Luckily she had an English menu so ordering was easily. I had the Spicy Cumcumber salad, which was indeed very spicy, probably the most spicy thing I've ever eaten. I guess this is more accomodated for Thai people, but despite the spicyness it was still very delicious!

Pros: Cheap, Exellent food, Friendly cook

Best vegan restaurant in Kanchanaburi

This is no longer a food cart, but a nice little restaurant down the alley next to CJ's supermarket on the left hand side. Absolutely the best vegan food I had in a long time. Very friendly lady serving a variety of delicious isaan dishes. Very clean and also very cheap. No msg! Don't miss it! I recommend: Numtok, Somtum, Laap Hed Woonsen and many more. She will prepare whatever you wish at your taste.

Lovely lady, tasty food

The lovely lady behind her cart showed me all of her food but unfortunately I was already too full from the vegan place across the street. I went back the next day and apparently she sold vegan 'laap' (everything was written in Thai). I ordered one to take with me to the Erawan falls. It was a very nice lunch, even two bag-hours later!

If you like laap and it's herby flavour (mint and cilantro) you should go to this lovely and smiling young lady. Don't know if she also offers other food and if her menu changes over time. Around April she was in front of the CJ.

Possible cons; owner doesn't understand English and she offers limited choice. But this could also be seen as 'local' and 'specialism' as well ;)

Take care everyone!

Pros: Nice owner, Tasty food, Cheap - 40baht
