Sister restaurant to Casa de Vegano. Just like that one, this establishment had an impressive menu with dozens of delicious choices. I ended up selecting the Smothered Chicken Seitan in Creole Gravy. The kale it came with were the best flavored greens I have ever had. The mashed potatoes were scrumptiously creamy. The chicken and gravy were flooded with a perfect flavor of spice and umami. The portion was plentiful and worth the price.

My family and I tried VFH for the first time! My daughter got the kids grilled cheese with fries. She didn’t like the grilled cheese but she is picky. If did have a little kick to it. My hubby got the poutine. The gravy was a little too peppery for me but he loved it. The cheese on top was so delicious. I got the crab cakes and Cesar salad. OMG so good! The dressing for the Cesar just melts in your mouth. Texture and sauce for the crab cakes are on point. The menu is pretty large so great variety. I can’t wait to go and try other things!!

In the lively Bishop’s Arts district of Oak Cliff in South Dallas. Use their QR code to let them know what you want and then sit back in the casual dining hall or on the large front porch dining area to people watch while they prepare delicious & well seasoned delights!
Read moreWe were first thrilled with the whole fried okra till we dipped them in the very best ranch-style dressing I’ve ever had.
(It’s been decades since I had the famous brand, but if it doesn’t taste like this, I prefer this VHF version!)
We all loved our entrees, my “oysters” were fried to perfection!

Nice people and good food! - Edit
This restaurant is in a fun area called the Bishop Art District with lots of cute shops. The staff was super nice and patient as I decided what to get. I asked what was popular and the first thing he said was the creole shrimp nachos. I ordered them to go so they provided the toppings separate from the chips to prevent them from getting soggy. They were pretty darn good. I also got the beignets with chocolate and cream cheese drizzle and they didn’t look great but they were so damn good!

Delicious vegan soul food and comfort food! - Edit
I've eaten their food several times, and it's amazing. I've dined in and ordered take-out. During some of the take-out times, I sat down in there and ate it out the box, lol. Their menu is so long that I haven't been able to try everything. I hands down love the 1. shrimp basket, 2. shrimp and grits, and 3. cauliflower wings plate with mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, corn, and garlic toast.
Read moreThe only thing I hope they improve on in the future is their customer service. Maybe I'm old-skool, but since it's a dine-in restaurant, I'd expect to be greeted and welcomed. You mostly just go in, sit down, and order from the QR code, and don't see or hear from any staff until they bring out your food or unless you go ask them a question.

Great mushrooms - Edit
Loved the oyster mushrooms and pasta that came in the Southern Dinner Catch. My partner loved his OG Buffalo Mac sandwich. We weren’t too fond of the buffalo cauliflower wings because they were hard/raw, and not cooked through. The breading is great though!

Huge menu! Lots of options to choose from. A lot of fried options, but do have a few healthier dishes. I got the classic chicken sandwich and it was delicious and decadent! My hubby got Brussels sprouts and putine fries. He said the fries were spot on! Definitely a satisfying meal!

So Sooo Good Prepare 2 Drop $$ - Edit
BF and I got this on whim when I didn’t feel like cooking. We ordered the 3 crab balls and grilled cheese with grilled onions and ‘ham’. It was incredible. We assumed that it would be shareable portions due to the price. He spent around $40 for the food. It was AMAZING, we devoured it. It easily was the best vegan grilled cheese (probably best grilled cheese in general) i’ve had. The crab balls tasted phenomenal and had that crunchy fried perfection, BUT it only came with 3 small balls (comparable to the size of a deep fried oreo or small hush puppies). For the price, we were a bit disappointed as we had assumed that the balls would be larger due to the price.

Texture of the Chickn’ is on point - Edit
Had the Chicken and Grits. Guess it was made out of oyster mushrooms and it tasted great, they nailed the texture as mentioned. Portion size was huge. Also had the hush puppies which were decent. Coming back many times I’m sure to try the ones that are made out of lion’s mane and the rest of the big fat menu. Also loved the decor of the place. Decent patio area as well. Was a Saturday afternoon and almost all the tables were taken.
