Amazing food! Atmosphere needs work! - Edit
The food was incredible, but the atmosphere was a bit off putting, it was freezing cold and just a bit generic which is a shame as the food is great. The waiter had no idea what was on the menu and couldn’t answer our questions about any of the dishes which was a shame. I’m sure he was new!

More Vegan Restaurants Like this Please - Edit
Been here a couple of times when I've been travelling through Tooting and it's been excellent. The pizza and the Sunday Roast are very good indeed. I've also tried the milkshakes which are great too. The portion sizes are very generous. The staff have always been friendly and attentive and the restaurant itself has a nice ambience and is clean and modern.

Have been a couple of times for lunch with family. Food options are great and delicious but the guy has been on his own both times and took orders, cooked and served the food and took the bill. Was a bit too much when there were 10 ppl in the restaurant- so go, but make sure you have time

Great food - long waiting time - Edit
I went to Vegan Express for first time (and it won’t be past time) as I read great reviews about the food. I have to admit that my Harden pizza was absolutely delicious and even friend who is not vegan enjoyed his Tofu fish. Also juices are really good and stuff is really friendly although I have to point it out some downsides.

2. It was really cold there
3. Waiting for two meals for hour is not acceptable at all. We were told that they messed up with two meals and that restaurant is too busy. It wasn’t busy to be honest and we noticed that people who came after us received their meal before us. Also I asked so many times for sweet potatoes fries as they have been forgetting about it at it came one and half hour after our order and after we finished our meal. Shame

I started off my dinner here with homemade flatbread with a hummus and olive tapenade. The flatbread was thin and crispy, and couldn't have been better. The toppings were fresh and delicious.

Classy, Good Quality and Well Priced - Edit
As a vegan, places are limited, so this is my more classy restaurant with cool and tasty food concoctions. It feels really professional and welcoming from the moment you set food inside. I would come here for a nice outing with a friend, partner or family. It's on a quieter street and a tiny bit out of the way so, instead of stopping by you have to make a point of going there to meet someone and try the wonderful food,

Been here a number of times and am never disappointed, the food is unbelievable and reasonably priced. The pizzas are amazing and the 'cheese' is fantastic. And the staff are so lovely, patient and kind. My new favourite vegan place!!

It's not often a menu gets me excited, but the variety of options here does. The marinated artichoke heart was absolutely superb, and I can't wait to go again.

I had lunch with three friends and we all enjoyed the experience. Two had burgers, one soup and I had a pattie. All the food was fresh, tasty and well presented. It was a one man operation at the time we were there, so the food took a while to arrive. As others have said, vegan but not express! However, it is a welcoming, friendly place with good, vegan food.

Went for a late lunch on a Saturday. It's got a fairly clinical feel with its modern decor and bright lights (thought another reviewer noted that it's better in the evening when the lights dim). The food was great - tried both types of burger and they were excellent.

That said, even the other tables waited over 45 minutes. The waitress was apologetic, but I felt that some sort of discount or free drink would have been more appropriate. The irony is in the name of the restaurant - do not come here if you're in a hurry and want an 'express' meal...

Vegan Express in Tooting is a lovely place. The owners and staff are warm and welcoming and the food is delicious. The motto of this restaurant is 'making vegan mainstream', and after tasting the food it is hard to see why they wouldn't. Omnivores, Vegetarians, Vegans... everybody can eat here. The Tofish & Chips is delicous. I've also tried the pizza and the moussaka and I'm going back to try more. I like the evenings best when the lights dim a bit and the ambience becomes a bit more cozy. Can't recommend this restaurant any more.

Amazing Christmas meal!!! (2016/12/12) - Edit
This was the second time in 2 months I've visited the restaurant. The first time I was blown away by the Spepherd's pie, and this time by the Christmas meal.

Porcini-mushroom and pecan pâté on finely sliced sourdough with lingonberry sauce

Chestnut mushroom, lentil, and cashew Wellington
Dessert
Sticky toffee pudding with runny soya cream
All food was very tasty, so it was worth the wait 15-45 min per course. But don't come here if you are in a rush. The food is made fresh and to a high level of quality so it takes some time, and I still think they are a bit understaffed in the kitchen.
Also, don't expect caramel sauce with the pudding, which in reality is more like a moist ginger cake. Very delicious, though! So maybe a better name should be 'Ginger cake and soya cream'.
Thanks again, it was a lovely evening and we will surely come back very soon.

Vegan Fine Dining! - Edit
I dropped in here after work before a long journey home. Nice atmosphere. Had to wait 45 mins for my meal but the waitress was very attentive. I wasn't in a rush but once my meal did arrive it was worth the wait! Dish presentation looked like a fine dining restaurant in Mayfair and I'm happy to say the taste and combination of flavours matched it's looks.I would have licked the plate clean if there weren't other diners in the restaurant!

I have eaten at Vegan Express twice since they opened a week ago (which is a recommendation in itself). The restaurant has a fantastic ambience (which my daughters also commented upon) & the service is outstanding in it's warmth & friendliness. On both visits I ate in the evening, the menu offers a good variety of food that is both tasty & filling. The juices are amazing, they are freshly prepared & are full of flavour. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant, Vegan Express will be getting my custom on a regular basis.
