Great food and super friendly owner!! - Edit
Great place with super tasty food!!! The sandwiches are amazing!!! Great variety and super tasty!! Very original ingredients and you can custom build your own sandwich or wrap. We had the breaded seitan with hemp pesto (and an assortment of vegetables) sandwich and it is one of the best vegan sandwiches that we ever had!! They also prepare desserts, we had the banana chocolate wrap with orange marmalade and it was amazing!! Great value for money! There is a nice beverage selection with great juices! The owner is super helpful and friendly!!

Great vegan option in Pisa - Edit
I decided before going to Pisa that I would absolutely stop here because of all the great reviews. Yes the shop is small but that's fine as I needed my food to take away anyway. I ordered a tempeh sandwich with "cheese" (potato and chickpea cheese), tahini, mushrooms, salad, olives, and pickles. It's came to €7,50 which was surprising as everyone said it was cheap. I guess I ordered one of the expensive items on the menu. It was good but the wraps are packaged, the burgers look to be from a mix, and overall there's not a lot of fresh stuff in house. You may not notice but I did. I guess with all the bakeries around I'd expect a fresh wrap, fresh ingredients, like fresh tomatoes etc. Again it may not be a big deal for anyone else but I'd gladly pay for fresh instead of prepackaged and processed. I'm funny that way. 😁 Overall, just glad to have found something I could eat on the train so it worked for me.

Great lunch in pisa - Edit
Stopped by this place for lunch and it was really tasty. You pick a base (bread or wrap, then tofu, seitan, burger, etc.), a sauce (pesto, mustard, ketchup, tahini, hummus) then you choose your own fillings. There were greens, sprouts, mushrooms, olives, sauerkraut, onions, and I’m sure there are more that I’m not remembering. Anyways, I got a delicious and filling sandwich for only 5.50€! And all the ingredients are organic! It’s a cute tiny spot and the owner is really friendly. Just be aware that there isn’t a lot of indoor seating.

As Vegan As a Koala. - Edit
It's great to see how much the owner can fit into this small cafe/restaurant. There's not a lot of room to sit down with only a handful of seats, but it's a nice place to go and grab a smoothie or a sandwich for breakfast or lunch. Once I was even lucky and it was open on a day where it was supposed to be closed. I love that mentality of the owner of just deciding something like that on a whim. He can speak English and if I remember correctly even German.

The sandwiches were amazing and the owner was really nice, only the shop is a bit small and the menu was hard to read, but you can ask for clarifications. I highly recommend the place.

Best Vegan Place in Pisa - Edit
I started going to 'Vegan come Koala' when I was studying for my Master's degree at the University of Pisa. This place is really great and very authentic. Marco, the owner, has a true passion for veganism and is incredibly interesting to talk to, he is also very friendly, helpful, and speaks English. Marco will personally prepare your food for you and seeks high quality ingredients, many of which are organic and/or local.
Read moreThe place is very clean and the food is tasty. 'Vegan come Koala' is in a quiet side street close to various university faculties and is a favourite spot for students and young people. 'Vegan come Koala' itself is quite small and lends itself to a more personal atmosphere. Definitely come here if you want a genuine experience and good vegan food in Pisa.
Pros: Great owner, Good food, Nice atmosphere and genuine

Cute, Cheap, and Tasty - Edit
Such a cute little hole in the wall! I was given a full explanation of options, and ended up getting a wrap with vegan salami and cheese, tomatoes, onions, and flaxseed. All for 7 euro. One piece of advice would be to offer darker greens instead of such lettuce! All in all fantastic, please support this business if you're in Pisa!

Such a nice place!! - Edit
Really great place. Very small place just a guy and a counter. He was very friendly and spoke great English. There were so many options to build your own wrap / panini etc which is what we tried. They did have other options on the board as well like pizza etc. Would definitely go back there!
