Vegans and Nature = Nirvana - Edit
What a fabulous time I had at Vegan Basecamp.... Amazing hosts - Elizabeth and Colt! Healthy vegan meals, expertly prepared by Colt - a culinary school grad. An eclectic group of campers from all over the US. The most beautiful setting, Sedona Arizona. Epic hikes-choose between ambitious and gentle trails. Nights warmed by well tended campfires, and hey, what better way is there to enjoy a campfire then vegan smores???

A great weekend! - Edit
My first trip with Vegan Basecamp was awesome! I had been following for a few years and finally signed up for the Zion NP getaway. I went solo and met so many wonderful people! Everything was so well organized, from the moment I signed up on Eventbrite to the very last breakfast. Elizabeth was incredibly welcoming and prepared with anything you could think of. Colt made the most delicious meals, and I even had leftovers to take home. The group activities were great, with plenty of time to explore on your own as well. It was such a treat to just show up and not have to plan anything or cook.
Read moreThe fact that Elizabeth and Colt do this out of the kindness of their hearts in an effort to bring more vegans together is amazing. To also feel safe amongst strangers, knowing I wouldn't have to listen to anyone talk about exploiting animals or watch them eat dead animals, is a feeling I've never had before. Not to mention how reasonable the cost is. I loved it so much that I decided to join the next trip before the weekend was even over. Just like going vegan, I wish I had done it sooner. 100/10.

Fun experience in Zion - Edit
Elizabeth and Colt do a great job taking care of everyone and leading a few group hikes. There’s still time to do hikes on your own too. Since I flew in, they rented camping gear for me and helped me put it up and get it back in the bags. It was nice to always come back to the camp and the vegan community and meals. They even made decaf coffee for me and another person. The food was delicious. The hosts are very patient and positive and fun. I met some great people. Had fun. Zion national park is stunning and the campground was close to the visitor center and town of Springdale. So you could go to a spa or an outfitters to pay for a shower. Campground bathrooms had flushing toilets and running water and mirrors so that was convenient.

Cons: I’d probably prefer a group lodge or Airbnb, No showers, Breakfast gets done a bit late around 10am.

a picture perfect weekend - Edit
Elizabeth and Colt have created something so special!! I am so grateful to have explored Zion with such a great group of people with similar values. Not to mention, they have really taken the stress of camping out by providing meals and so many amenities. I was really nervous to commit to this trip as a solo camper, but I am so grateful I did!!! I highly, highly, HIGHLY, recommend 💚

This was a blast! - Edit
It was so much fun to not only meet awesome vegans but also get to hike and explore new areas with them!
Read moreThe campsite was safe and spacious and the scenic places we went were incredible. Some outings we followed the same path and others were more choose-your-own-adventure, making this a perfect retreat for people at many different activity levels.
The food was FANTASTIC and plentiful. Delicious, healthy, filling, and of course all vegan. This was a really excellent value, which as vegans we know is not always easy to find!
Start to finish, this was a wonderful experience. I plan to attend again in the future!
Pros: Friendly, interesting and cool people! , Delicious food, and lots of it!, Beautiful outdoors exploration!
