All my love goes here

I started to come here since I have become vegan and it has been the best place for Czech cuisine and junk food for ages. Love you, Vegal!

Pros: Food, Beer, Music

Cons: Facilities not the best

Nice

Extensive menu, nice atmosphere, good music, fair price (160kr for the lunch menu consisting of soup and a main and water). The garlic soup was amazing, the saitan roast was also nice. I'd say they could've given more saitan and less of the bread dumplings but overall it was filling and good

Cheap but certainly no gourmet food

In a city that is known for its underground places (bunkers, crypts, tunnels and so on), it’s only suitable to have an underground vegan restaurant as well.
Vegalite is a spacious cellar with a distinct punk atmosphere. I immediately felt comfortable.
I went there during lunch hours, so I simply settled for the daily menu. Soup, main (two dishes at choice) and dessert. Total costs: 155 CZK. That price can’t be beaten, really inexpensive! However, I must add, the food was rather poor. The soup was the only good part of it, a nicely seasoned Arabic soup. The main was a questionable schnitzel with some potato salad that chiefly tasted like preserving agent. The dessert were some canned tangerines. Possibly the à-la-cart-menu is better, maybe the daily lunch menu is simply a cheap option in order to get your tummy full - if so, great! If not, I’d still come for the atmosphere and beer.
There was a large pitcher of lemon-flavored water on each table, for free. Service was very quick and friendly. Vegalite also sells some sort of merchandise as well as self-made kimchi in jars. It’s a dog-friendly place as well.
Even though the food was so-so, I’d love to come back and taste more.

Moist lair with good cuisine

If you don't mind a moist cellar with sticky tables, you will be rewarded with good vegan cuisine interesting choices and friendly staff. It's only the fungi odour that is keeping me away from visiting this place again.

Good Meal

cozy place, good food, relatively cheap.
I liked the simplicity of only having 2 ( plus 1) options.

Halfway between a Krishna place and the land of promises

Lunchtime menu is offered that is prepared somewhat boring like those overcooked Krishna dishes. Unfortunately the honesty of their effort does not appear as ambition. The service cannot leave much impression that may mean they do their job like pros, and do not want to pretend friendliness.

Pros: fair portions , fast service

Cons: too salty carrot soup, lack of desire to harmony

Hearty local vegan food

Pub like underground restaurant, very tasty combinations and nice staff. Huge portions and really good choice of hearty local food like dumplings, potato pancakes and goulash. Don't miss it!

Fully vegan with many options

Fully vegan places are always the best! Big menu, hard to choose from. Contains traditional Czech food and international dishes. The homemade kimchi was amazing as well.

Very friendly staff, tasty food

Kitchen is open till late and staff is very relaxed but professional. They have an English menu and allergies are well listed (as is more common in Czech Republic). Food portions are large and filling, prices are low. It was rather empty when i was there, ambience wasn't very inspiring. I went with non-vegan colleagues who were also content.

Big portions and good prices

A nice Czech pub atmosphere but make it vegan. Many options, great price (especially for daily menu that comes with a soup and water). Also offers vegan variations of traditional Czech dishes (highly recommend vegan fried cheese). Taste is usually nothing espectacular but ok.

Quite a different vegan experience

This is a pub that serves food. Not a restaurant, but a pub. And I’d never been to a vegan pub before, so it was quite the original experience. I only give it 4 stars because the experience overall wasn’t perfect, but I highly recommend it and might come back again if I’m around. They offer 2 different daily menus (regular and XXL), both of which are cheap. I had the XXL one which tasted good, even though the crisps were little too oily. On top of that, they also have a small, very cheap lunch menu served between 11:00 and 14:00 or something like that. On top of that, they also have a regular menu full of affordable dishes. If you are vegan and like going to pubs, you’ll probably love this place!

Pub atmosphere and mediocre food

It was fun to try some traditional food, but it wasn’t for me. The flavours and combination of the food were,,, interesting. I think it’s a great location to get a drink and maybe try some traditional vegan food, but don’t expect to have the best meal of your life

Pros: Not too expensive, Pub vibes

Fair at best

Unfortunately reading all the 5* reviews I was really expecting some spectacular vegan dishes that would deliver both in taste and presentation. Meanwhile what I received was some bread buns with some mushroom sauce that was lukewarm and a vegan "steak" which didn't taste like much at all. In addition there was some whipped cream served on top of the mushroom sauce which well to me was quite odd and a bit gross. Another dish a bit better the vegan pancake with veggie selection was quite dry and actually could use some sauce or at least sour cream. Either way as a tourist I don't think I would recommend coming here if this is the best vegan joint Brno has to offer I'm sincerely disappointed.

Top location, prices, love the atmosphere and food. Many variations of vegan dishes, for lunch the menu changes. Offers also typical Czech dishes in vegan version, the best!

Great Vegan cheese

This was so good! My non-vegan friend was impressed with the plant-based cheese, and we enjoyed great Czech food for a great price.

Pros: Big portions, traditional Czech food, Lots of vegan cheese in meals, Friendly service, good value for money
