Hours need to be updated - Edit

Tried going here today, as the Happy Cow app said it was open on Sundays. However, the hours need to be updated as it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. The place was easy to find and the cafe looked so cute! I'm sure their food is good and I am excited to try it again when I am down in Darmstadt. It's also not hard to get to from public transportation, so it would be a good option for travelers.

Nice to have - Edit

I was really excited to hear that a completely vegan restaurant opens in Darmstadt and I went there variuos times.
It is very clear to see that someone put a lot of effort in this little cafe.

Unfortunately me and also my friends think the cupcakes are always quite dry and very expensive. The vegan "Döner" isn't a culinary delight and I ate a lot better vegan döner and gyros for less money.

I must say that there are many other spots in Darmstadt were I eat better vegan food for less money.

Pros: comfy, friendly

Cons: expensive, dry cupcakes

Cute Place - Edit

Sweet, tiny place in diner style with extremely friendly owner.
They have sandwiches, salads, doener, sweets and cakes, smoothies...a lot of teas and other beverages.
We had the Laugenbaguettesandwich and one bagel, which were both excellent.

In walking distance to the city (e.g.Marktplatz).

We loved the "tante emma laden" aka mom-and-pop style - you can buy single sweets like gummibears :)

Pros: very friendly, cute interior

Cons: no toilets

Veel good - Edit

Cons: Etwas teuer

Excellent conditions to 'veel good' - Edit

Small venue at a street corner with some tables in and outside; there is a small park with an abandoned church very close to it where you can eat out, if it's too crowded.
You'll get vöner and potato chips and hot dogs and wraps as well as beagles and cakes and patisseries. Most of the ingredients are organic. In addition to that there are lots of other vegan products, mostly chocolate bars and other sweets.
The deco stuff seemed to me a bit peculiar, but that's nothing too bad. Others may find it awesome.
One day I tried the savoury raw cake (not sweet) they have newly added to the menu. I'm not crazy for raw food, but this cake was really substantial and sating. It was kinda expensive though.
All in all it is pretty easy to have a good time at Veel Good (and spend a lot too). The staff is overwhelmingly friendly and the prices are pretty decent by any means.
I should also mention that they offer a huge range of herbal teas. I am not a tea person though, so I haven't tried any of those.

Pros: great value, very friendly and helpful, excellent conditions to 'veel good'

Cons: big street in front of venue, deco matter of taste

good seitan kebab - Edit

I had seitan kebab sandwich and a wheatgrass smoothie.

The kebab was pretty good, I loved the pot-roasted onions and good value for price! The wheatgrass smoothie was fine.

Good to have a vegan cafe in Darmstadt!

Update: I went there again and now they serve a "happy burger" which I liked a lot. It is made with a seitan-based patty and BBQ sauce for 4,95€.

Pros: nice vibe

Best vegan place in Darmstadt - Edit

Recently opened in Darmstadt in walking distance from downtown. It's really small, just has place for 10 people max. But the food is really good, both vegan 'kebap' and burger were excellent at fair prices.
Very friendly staff, I enjoyed my stay a lot.

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Fair prices

Cons: Few tables only

Really nice place - Edit

The only bad thing I can say about the place is that I started my year abroud 2 days after they opened- they should have opened earlier! Well just a joke. I only had 2 days to test, but I tested them 2 times and always liked it. If you are in Darmstadt city and have some time to spare, please go to this lovely place:)

Pros: inexpensive, delicious food, nice stuff

Wonderful Place In Darmstadt - Edit

We paid a short visit to Darmstadt to see the beautiful Art Nouveau colony museum. We were thrilled to find a vegan restaurant for lunch. It's a very tiny place with a few tables and bar stools made up in a diner style. We had a wrap sandwich and bagel sandwich which were both excellent. The deserts were great and we took a few for the road. The owner, who recently relocated from Stuttgart was extremely friendly and helpful. If in Darmstadt, we highly recommend Veel Good!

Pros: Delicious , Friendly , Fast

Cons: None unless you have a large group
