An all-vegan bistro in the villa Lochfeld is located in the middle of the nature reserve Bliesgau. Serves changing regional cuisine with an international touch like wild herbs salad with falafel, currywurst, dibbelabbes, chili sin carne and cakes. Everything is made-in-house and is almost exclusively prepared using fresh, regional ingredients. Gluten-free possible. Also special events like hikes, vegan wine tasting, dinner evenings and brunch. You should make a reservation for special events. Reported closed September 2023.

Hier gibt es frisches und leckeres Essen bei bestem Ausblick. Die Bowl mit Falafel aus regionalen Linsen ist sehr zu empfehlen, ebenso die Snickerstorte. Dummerweise schmeckt halt einfach alles gut 🤣 Was will man mehr. Das Personal ist super freundlich.

For a flat fee of 20 EUR you get an extensive and tasty vegan buffet (fresh and health-oriented, not just junk food). Also included in the price is water, fruit juice, tea, coffee and even smoothies according to availablilty.
During the course of the brunch the buffet changes to include hot dishes like falafel and burgers and ends with a choice of deserts.
So you can really get by with 20 EUR and spend a couple of wonderful hours there. Soft drinks and cakes are extra.
Pros: good value, fresh ingredients, home made - no convenience foods
Cons: no organic certification (still most items are!)

Delicious food in a beautiful location - Edit
Nice little Bistro located beautifully in the Mandelbachtal. We had wild herbs salad, Currywurst, Burger, falafel salad, and cakes, all of which was very yummy. The place is ideal to get some refreshments after a hike.
