The culinairy reviewers of the local newspaper visited this favourite place of mine three times and rated them with 8 points (out of 10). So these critical meatlovers really, really enjoyed the vegan food. A big achievement for the nice people at VanVeg. Congrats!

Really nice food! Great tastes and all the choices sounded really nice. Friendly staff. The wait for the food to be ready wasn't short but it was okay. A little bit of expensive for a take away, but you get healthy great tasting food. Also, if you bring your own cups it is cheaper! Go sustainability. You do need the whole menu of 3 pieces to get full, but than it's a good portion.

Local business run by what I assume is a married couple, she is Dutch and he is English. The menu has some interesting variety with many vegan options, inc great vegan mayonnaise. The chick pea fries are surprising and delicious.
Top thing is their friendliness! There was a mistake in my order once and I got sincere apologies and a free meal on my next visit. Love a place that remembers regular customers! Also got a delicious lemonade on the house to share with my gf on another visit.
Only small issue is that although the food is amazing, the portions could be a little more generous.

Went with 2 friends to the 'Koningsdag' (kingsday) BBQ; one of them isn't vegetarian (let alone vegan). Tehy both had a seitan thingie, I had a sweet potato. We had to wait a little while, but it was worth it. The little dish was packed with flavour and I really tasted that there had been a lot of thought and love in the process of making it.
One of us is vegan and got vegan mayonaise.

As a local I hope other Haarlemmers discover this place and come to love it.

Went to VanVeg to get some good food to take away and eat outside before a concert. It was a very nice and chic store. We both had the chickpea fries which were good, also there was vegan mayonnaise available that wasn't on the menu, so ask for that! Unfortunately the seitan sausage and chickpea burger, tasty though, fell completely apart. I'd suggest using something like cornstarch to make them firmer and stick together.

Nice fresh food. Nothing really surprising though, except for the chickpeas which were made with vinegar which was not really my cup of tea. My friends liked it, though. Very nice and friendly owners.

It's a take away although it is possible to eat the food at the one big table in the shop. The food is good but not very special. I liked the fries made of chickpeas.

Wij hebben hier op kerstavond ons menu gehaald. Het was heerlijk. Mooie smaken en alles vers. We hadden een saladjar; krieltjes met veldsla in een mosterddressing. De jar krijg je mee naar huis en daar betaal je statiegeld voor. Ik dacht € 1,50. Daarnaast hadden we een tarte tartin van pastinaak en wortel in korstdeeg. Die was ook erg lekker. We hadden ook nog een hartige cake met eekhoorntjesbrood met een koriandercrème. Heel smakelijk! Verder kregen we omdat het kerst was een doosje zoet gratis mee met koekjes en een cakeje. Die waren een beetje slap dat was jammer. Maar de smaak was prima. De glühwein was ook zalig! Vriendelijke mensen en een mooie zaak. Volgende keer als we in Haarlem zijn, komen we zeker weer.
