What a relief! - Edit
What a relief to find a fully vegan place in Avignon. The food was beautifully presented but a little bland for me. However the owner (and chef) is absolutely lovely. We saw Anonymous for the Voiceless activists in a square down the road afterwards, which was a reaffirming end to the evening.

The evening offerings were quite delicious and wonderful presentation . You bus your own dishes & it’s just a thing . We had all three main dishes except for Tarte et messaade du moment & had the sides offering of Taboulet: Tomales cerises confites et Methe fraiche. Also had both desserts. Delicious. Quick & offerings of cold drinks .

Nous sommes venus le 17 juillet en plein festival. Parlons des plats d'abord : nous étions 4, deux d'entre nous ont pris la tarte du jour, dont la pâte était extrêmement salée et la side salade assez mini, l'autre a pris la blanquette, qui ne ressemblait pas vraiment à une blanquette, vu les haricots blancs et le chou fleur, mais qui surtout n'était que moyennement bonne, et le dernier a pris la caponata, qui était délicieuse. Nous nous sommes partagés une grande salade du jour qui n'avait rien d'exceptionnel. Les desserts étaient bons.
Read moreL'ambiance ensuite : le restaurant est petit et encombré ; comme il faut commander au comptoir, venir chercher les plats et rendre les assiettes ensuite, il y a beaucoup de bousculades tout au long du repas. L'un d'entre nous a eu sa chaise heurtée constamment. La salle est bruyante. De plus, le restaurant ne prend pas de résas : beaucoup de gens attendent qu'une table se libère. Dès qu'on a terminé, on se sent poussés vers la sortie. Il est vrai que l'ambiance ne nous incite pas à nous attarder.
Et 14€ le plat (108€ à 4 avec les boissons), c'est un peu cher pour ce que c'est.
En bref, une déception.

La salle est petite, très vite remplie, que ça soit les tables, ou le reste, car dans l'esprit "bistro", on nous demande d'aller chercher nos plats et couverts, ainsi que de débarrasser notre table, entraînant plusieurs allers retours.
Read moreCombiné aux arrivées de nouveaux clients, qui doivent, avant de s'installer, se diriger au fond de la salle pour commander, les embouteillages sont constants, le passage également. Une atmosphère stressante, surtout quand on est assis près de l'entrée et que l'on peut compter les clients aux coups que l'on se prend dans la chaise.
Ensuite, pour ce qui est de la nourriture, la quiche du moment n'est pas si mal entre la crème et les légumes, mais la pâte trop salée, et la portion assez petite.
La salade en elle-même n'a rien de spécial, trop salée encore, et sans doute trop chère.
Point positif sur les desserts, la panacotta et la poire au chocolat sont très bonnes, avec des portions parfaites, et des saveurs qui se révèlent à chaque bouchée.
[La carte, un peu désordonnée, pourrait laisser croire que la quiche est accompagnée de la salade du jour. Mais si vous demandez au serveur, il vous répondra que non, avec l'amabilité d'une porte de prison, comme si vous étiez un idiot fini, de quoi ouvrir l'appétit.]
Tout ceci sont des détails qui pourraient s'oublier si ce n'était le prix, la seule chose qui sort de l'esprit bistro, et rejoins l'esprit gastro...
3 étoiles car malgré tout j'ai tout mangé, le lieu est idéalement placé, et propose tout de même plusieurs plats vegan, ce qui est rare à Avignon.

Creative and tasty flavours for both savoury and sweet dishes, beautifully plated, very satisfying, and friendly service. It’s extremely popular during Festival D’Avignon (great for people watching!), so there’s no sitting around idle after you’ve finished - it’s time to clear the table and let the next people in to enjoy a meal, as they don’t take bookings and need to keep it all moving. Don’t forget to take your plates and glassware back to the kitchen when you’re done. We’ve been several times and haven’t ever had to wait long for a table because of this efficient system. Highly recommend!

Really nice food and good people. If it's busy it gets a bit strange. We were asked to order our food at the counter before knowing exactly where we were going to be seated.

The mains were good, some came as cold dishes, which was a surprise, so best check if that matters to you!
The desserts were some of the best I ever had. Both the panna cotta and the pair in chocolate mousse. They will live in my mind for a very long time.

Not three dollar signs, more like two — euros, that is. Not only decently affordable, the food was fantastic. The guy running the place by himself speaks some English and does a great job. I’m still not sure what all of the dishes are called in English but it doesn’t matter—they were all great.

This was 100% vegan, delicious food that was beautifully presented. I had a tasty potato/onion tart and salad (with edible flowers) and my friend had a tasty carrot soup garnished once again with edible flowers. I followed this with a poached pear with vanilla/caramel/chocolate ganache. It was great value for money. Please support this business otherwise it will not survive.

Le recensioni fanno un po' confusione tra i due locali con il nome simile che sono uno accanto all'altro. Questo non è il ristorante gourmet ma anzi un posto dove si ordina al bancone (sia per mangiare lì che per portare via) e ci si apparecchia da soli prendendo posate, bicchieri, tovaglioli eccetera in libero accesso e andando a ritirare i piatti al bancone quando si viene chiamati. È 100% vegano a differenza del ristorante accanto. Il menù scritto sulla lavagnetta è ridotto e cambia spesso, immagino anche in base alla stagione. Abbiamo provato una entrée, il gratin di patate dolci e zucca, semplicemente divino! Come piatti ottimi la tajine di verdure con il cous cous e il dhal di lenticchie rosse.

Kleines veganes Restaurant im Herzen von Avignon. Es wird alles frisch zubereitet, daher kann es gegebenfalls zu Wartezeiten kommen. Wir hatten das Gemüse-Tajine und ein Kürbisgratin. Beides war sehr köstlich. Bitte beachtet, dass es gleich neben an noch ein Restaurant mit dem Namen V&G Gastronomie gibt (dieses ist NICHT 100% vegan).

Delicious dinner but place isn't vegan - Edit
Sat outside this warm evening and took in the ambience. We both had the delicious stuffed vegetables main, served with bread (sun dried tomatoes?), a glass of white wine, one dessert of poached figs, sorbet, mousse and the other as tasty plum concoction.

Sadly this place serves fish, which I didn't expect and found the smell off-putting.
Other than that we enjoyed our evening!

Tolles veganes Bistro mit außergewöhnlich leckeren Gerichten – mal etwas anderes und nicht das „typisch Vegane“. Alles war komplett vegan und ideal für ein leichtes, frisches Mittagessen bei heißem Wetter. Der Inhaber war sehr freundlich und hat sich Zeit genommen, uns alles zu erklären – er spricht auch Englisch, was sehr hilfreich war. Klare Empfehlung!

Do not hesitate to give this place a try! This one is vegetarian (with vegan options) next-door they have a vegan restaurant that is open for dinner. The flavors were beyond amazing and such an interesting combination of vegetables, grains seeds, greens etc. so fresh! Owner could not have been more kind and did not even know about this app.
