Incredible tacos! - Edit
I dined for the first time here as a celebratory dinner and did the set menu courses with friends. All of their dishes were incredible but the stand-outs were the grilled corn, cheeseburger spring rolls, zucchini flower fritters (think a surprise burst of lava cheese on your first bite), and the wild mushroom taco. If you like your mushrooms, this is the taco for you. The flavours and textures were absolutely divine. I was writhing in ecstasy eating this taco- I wish I ordered more than just one! Every single thing on their menu is delicious. The only thing I would say didn’t meet expectations were the churros, but that was because I had the privilege of experiencing authentic churros and porras in Spain and I was making a direct comparison. Instead of being light, crispy, fluffy, and airy, these churros are much more dense, almost like sweet pizza dough that has been shaped into sticks and fried, not piped into hot oil. And with the dulce de leche (which tasted mostly of maple syrup) and coconut ice cream on top, it feels a bit much and heavy. Other than that, this is an amazing vegan spot with great service, great atmosphere, and even greater food. I need to come back for Taco Tuesdays for sure!!!

Cheeseburger spring rolls - Edit
One of the first places I went to in Sydney years ago and has been a favorite since. You always have to get the cheeseburger spring rolls. Great value especially on Taco Tuesdays ($4 tacos) and portion size. Fast service even when busy.

Amazing tacos! - Edit
Omg the tacos are AMAZING, so thoughtfully constructed and presented. My favourites are the Baha fish (the texture was SO INCREDIBLE, and perfectly cooked), the cheeseburger (the melt and crisp on the cheese and burger was amazing), popcorn prawns (great texture), and mushrooms (so tasty!). Really great value on Taco Tuesdays, and worth full price as well.

Delicious and refreshing tuna ceviche tostadas. Aesthetically beautiful.
Stuffed zucchini flowers were ok but bland, and birria nachos were unbearably spicy, probably picked about 20 slices of chilli with seeds out.
10% discount on dining receipt can be used at Greens supermarket next door.

Delicious Vegan Mexican food - Edit
Recently visited Vandal with some of my non veggo friends. No one knew that Vandal was fully vegan and we tried a few different tacos and the zucchini flowers. Everyone really loved the food. The flavors were refreshing and different from other Mexican places that I have tried. Highly recommend the Korean fried eggplant tacos, it was really yummy. Everyone was surprised when our waiter told us that everything was vegan.

Vegan Mexican to die for - Edit
Vandal had the best vegan Mexican I've ever had, especially the nachos and birria tacos. Plates are a little small but the taste more than makes up for it. Probably the best restaurant I've been to I Sydney in years, even more that Callie Rey which is sadly gone.

Read moreThe layout of the new location ads a bit more chaos and some seats are a bit [censored]. The back room feels like a bunker (all concrete walls and floor with no windows?, and you constantly feel like you’re in the way, because this room is also the kitchen and where all the dishes get picked up from. The previous venue layout had a much better vibe and better atmosphere flow. If you book and it’s going to be a nice day, sit outside.
The menu has a huge variety of dishes and something for everyone. As great as range is, not all the dishes are exceptional, and I find some items as stand alone dishes to be very average and forgettable. The set menu features the best dishes, and crowd favourites. I cannot stress enough that you should get the set menu, because you’ll have a better time than picking one possibly average dish if you do A La Carte.
If you decide to not order the set menu and do A La Carte, anyone who’s ordered something that is on the set menu will receive their food 20 minutes before everyone else and possibly even well before you receive your drinks.

We went on taco Tuesday for half price tacos. It was awesome to try one of each! They were all very different and a few stuck out as some as my favorite bites on vacay. We liked the eggplant, celeriac, and prawn ones the best!

We were mixed between doing the dine in/the set menu and then decided to go with the set menu which was 38 dollars. The well known Kimusabi touch is definitely there. All of dishes were full of flavour! Can’t fault what was tasted on the palate. I think this would be a great place to take your non vegan loved ones. Customer service was divine.

I don’t really like Tacos, but since I have heard they are the same owners as Kimusabi sushi (which unfortunately closed down temporarily) & took over the venue in Newtown, I had to try their tacos. The funny thing is a few of them are same as the sushi topping of the nigiri or maki fillings.

Very scrumptious food and big portions. We ended up ordering bit too much but ate everything. We had Birria nachos, very good and comforting, potato & chorizo empanada, huge and delicious, full of tasty stuffing and four different tacos: pr*wn, ch*cken, lam and eggplant. So tasty and filling! Tacos are really generous too.
