One of the best in Berlin - Edit

Valladares is almost the perfect cafe, if not the perfect one in Berlin. They serve a huge menu with burgers and Jackfruit BBQ sandwiches, loads of cakes and pastries, coffee varieties to make your eyes bulge, and the best thing on the menu: curly fries! seasoned so well, and so fun. They also offer a charcoal bun. So, the food is pleasing to the eye.

The ambiance is really nice, with vintage furniture and two rooms separated by an exposed brick wall. One room is nice to lounge in and read or surf the webs, and the other which is near the deli counter gives the air of a restaurant. So, you get both feels.

Also in the deli/cafe area there is a small shop with bio & vegan products.

Pros: Curly fries, Charcoal bun, Old building

perfect combination - Edit

I came here after breakfast at bei "geh veg" and tryed the amazing snickersshake. uff. wow. Excellent!
sadly i was not hungry anymore, but they have a real huge range of classic vegan food like burger and also interesting ideas i never heard in vegan food, like the snickersshake.
and the have some products to buy like a Mini supermarket - with lots of vegan wine. stuff very, very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Big range of food and drinks

Cons: Not really central

Delish - Edit

Ok, let me vent first: by god, can Valladares be slow AF with your food. There.

This place is fantastic. It has an (too?) extensive menu. The food is incredible. You can buy some vegan stuff, drink craft beer or cool smoothies, get yo carbs goin', eat your healthy salad, you name it. I haven't tasted anything bad here, service was always on point, you get the picture.

The burgers aren't boring, the seitan is damn good, every has a lot of taste going for it, you know, it's good.

It's good, and that's the end of it.

Pros: Food is top-notch, Good service, Reasonable prices

Cons: Sometimes slow AF

great deli and cafe! - Edit

This place has an awesome atmosphere and little deli. The staff are helpful and friendly. The menu is extensive, cheap, and delicious. I can recommend be hot veggies, the sweet potato fries, and the salad. My friend got the hot dog which was good too.

Amazing dessert choices too

The place is so nice (nice bathrooms too). Just sad it's all the way in Moabit...

Pros: cheap and big menu , staff, taste

Cons: location (only for me though)

Lovely Café, super friendly staff, awesome Feinkost - Edit

I went to Valladares for breakfast and I loved both the place and the food and drinks they offer.
The place is well decorated and very cosy, and vintage-looking and so is the seating outside. they have different cakes including gluten-free ones, breakfast menu, lunch, sandwiches (hot, like paninis), Burgers, Flammkuchen, Hot rolls (wraps like falafels or burritos), salads and side dishes. All the food is freshly made and tasty. The staff is super friendly and makes sure that you have everything you need. You can buy vegan products in their groceries area which is super nice too!
I had the Schoki Schoki, a hot chocolate that was super yummy, and a small Breakfast with jam, bread, fruits.
I'll definitely go there again!

Pros: Adorable place, enjoyable in and outside, friendly staff that takes care of you, wide range of cakes and drinks, all delicious

All-Round Loveliness in the heart of Moabit - Edit

Few tourists venture into the heartlands of Moabit which is their loss as it has plenty of interest, not to mention some fine places to eat and drink. By good fortune the local community were staging a gala event during our visit and this made it a fun place to be. Street performers, music and a variety of stalls brought the streets alive. One of our key landmark buildings to visit was the former AEG factory, a seminal piece of industrial architecture. We had planned to combine this with lunch at the highly-rated Crunch Kantine veggie restaurant. Unfortunately, we found a notice in the window advising customers they had gone on holiday. Time for the back-up plan to swing into action – you should always have a back-up plan as part of your itinerary. Consequently, we made our way to the nearby junction of Stephanstraße and Havelberger Straße to see if our fortunes would be any better at Valladares Feinkost. Wow, we hit the jackpot. Not only was the café ultra-cool with a soundtrack including Bon Iver and The White Stripes, but it was staffed by a lovely woman with a sense of humour. And to cap it all Valladares Feinkost has a totally vegan menu and …. a fridge full of bottled craft beers from the BRLO Brewery of Berlin, a company with an ethical business philosophy of using ecologically sound and bio-certified ingredients. We tried the dry-hopped unfiltered Pale Ale which uses five different hop varieties to zing around your tastebuds. This was great but even better was the IPA, lovingly created with three German hop varieties. At 7.0%ABV, it packs a punch within the delightful flavours.

Now, whilst all this lovely hoppy action was going on we were also getting stuck into a tasty lunch. We selected from the Panini menu and these were nicely presented and reasonably priced at €6.90. The menu is quite extensive with something for most folks luncheon desires. Valladares Feinkost is also a grocery shop and delicatessen so during our lounging around eating and drinking a few local residents drift in and out shopping for organic goodies. We still had lots of cycling to do so we had to wrench ourselves away from this wonderful café and climb back on the bikes. But how we enjoyed our visit here.

Pros: Lovely Staff and Vibe, Reasonably Priced Extensive Menu, Great Craft Beer

Why can't everywhere be this good.. - Edit

When my partner and I went to Berlin for a few days we stayed near the main railway station. First job when we got there was to pull up HappyCow and check for walkable places to eat. Valladares became our place of choice. About 20 minutes from the main station this great café and shop is situated in one of the more residential areas. The staff were very friendly. Their English was much better than our German which helped. They were happy to answer any questions and importantly they served breakfast tea (I can't function without my morning cuppa). Over the space of a week we went back here most days. The menu is excellent. Especially the burgers which I would heartily recommend. The shop is full of goodies and we took the opportunity to stock up on the vegan choc. and fake parmesan. If you find yourself anywhere near the main station then you'd be mad to miss this place.

Pros: Really great food, Lovely staff and relaxed atmosphere, Well stocked shop

Friendly, elegant and delicious - Edit

Nice café with a terrasse and a small shop offering a respectable selection of vegan products. Everything we had was very good and 100% vegan! The burgers are tasty, the fries are delightful. Something worth a special mention: the Frozen Sun milkshake. OMG!! So good!

Tasty and nice! - Edit

Reasonable prices, nice service and super tasty food - what else would you need? Located in a quiet living area next to a park I especially recommend sitting outside in the summer. They also have a small shop attached.

Pros: Good prices, Small shop attached

Huge choice, very tasty - Edit

Something wonderful happened between our first and second visit here – the menu blossomed into a huge range of vegan delights! There's burgers, paninis, soups, salads, rolls, hot dogs... basically a huge range. We've tried a few of the options, and were never disappointed. The BBQ pulled jackfruit burger was wonderful, as were the mixed potato and sweet potato fries. The "Berlin Classic" wrap was large and filled with "meatballs" and salad.

Great coffee and cakes too! :) Always a big plus. It's a nice place to sit, with friendly staff. The prices aren't high, and there's also a small vegan grocery store attached. Top marks!

Pros: Great food, Wide selection, Good prices

I didn't want to leave! - Edit

Valladares is really a one-stop shop - it has great coffee and sweets, substantial menu (burgers! hot sandwiches! fries! quiche!), and... a small but well-stocked food and wine store! You can even get vegan t-shirts and make-up there! The food is amazing, they roast their own coffee, and the service is outstanding. One of our all-time favorites!

Pros: fantastic food, amazing coffee, and a vegan mini-mart?? OMG

Cons: I can't stay there forever :(

Burgers for Breakfast :) - Edit

We had a bit of a sleep in, so didn't make it here for breakfast until 12 at which time we decided we may as well go with the Burgers! We ordered the Guacamole Burger, a piece of quiche, and some spring rolls. This place is 100% vegan so being able to order anything is still a novelty for us! Everything was delicious, especially the burger pattie. While we were waiting for the food (which was very fast) we had a look around the attached vegan shop. Would recommend!

Pros: Great coffee, Has wifi (necessary when backpacking!), Good atmosphere

One of the best vegan breakfast options in Berlin - Edit

They do not only have breakfast - there are several great lunch/dinner options as well - but I use to go there often to have breakfast on weekends. The quality and the variety of the food is very good. They offer a breakfast platter with scrambled eggs, spread cheese, fresh juices, waffles, salads, etc. Everything I had there just tastes deliciously! The owner of the is very nice and friendly and they also have a small shop with vegan products. You can buy coffee/ matcha to go, plus: freshly made cream cheeses, cakes etc. to take-away.

--> Definitely one of my favorite vegan places in Berlin!

Pros: great variety of vegan food, atmosphere, friendly staff

Cons: none

Top marks! - Edit

The Valladares deli & store takes it's name from the surname of the friendly owner Karina and it is clear she takes the same pride in her store as in her surname: it is well laid out, with the deli counter and dining area, (which contains two medium sized tables with seating), in the middle of the store, with chilled products to the left of deli counter and general grocery, including fresh vegetables, to the right.

The majority of the products are organic and it has an advantage over Veganz because Valladares stocks the best vegan patisserie brand in Europe, Lujuria Vegana, (check out their website), and also a great vegan brand from Belgium called Aman Prana, alongside it's other vegan staple brands like Wheaty, Wilmersberger, Byodo, etc.

The Valladares is situated in an area of Berlin called Moabit, a couple of miles north of Tiergarten.

Exit Westhafen (S) on a bridge over the train line and look for large yellow Tolmein building and head in that direction, (you need to be on the opposite side of the road), and the Valladares is a 4 minute walk to a set of stairs on the bridge, (opposite yellow Tolmein building), and once you have got to the bottom of the stairs, it is a maximum 4 minute walk down Salzwedeler Str. turning left into Stephen Str. and you will see Valladares on a cornerblock 100m on your right, just past the childrens' playground.
That's the tricky part...finding Valladares via the stairs! Everything is smooth sailing after that.

The owner is charming and the selection is wonderful, with fair prices: vegan croissants and fresh bread... delicious vegan patisserie and a great grocery section, what more can you want as a vegan?!! Support this store, because this is how a vegan store should be... intimate, friendly and fairly priced! There are plans to extend the size of the deli store and no doubt this concept will expand further around Berlin at a future date!

EE card accepted and cash.

Pros: vegan patisserie, charming owner, fair priced
