Good food but not amazing

I had the Vietnamese Noodle Salad and was happy with it. It wasn't amazing but considering the price (~12AUD).
Also tried my friends tofu dish which was reaaally really good. Next time I'd go for that one.
Staff was great - very friendly and helpful.
Will definitely go again and try some more things.

Pros: all vegan

Above average

While I didn’t particularly “love” any of the food, it’s just awesome to have a fully vegan place that serves alcohol

Incredible Menu

Food was amazing, and not too badly priced. Portions were quite small, so I can understand why people would say it is pricey. The sheer amount of options on the menu is great! Service was quite lacking, and it was not a busy night. Staff were friendly enough, just not attentive or knowledgeable on the menu. Will still go back.

Pros: Loads of vegan options , Flavoursome

Cons: Lacking in service

Delicious vegan food and a full bar and wine list

Casual restaurant in central Adelaide with a fully vegan menu.
Cocktail list and wine list were small but impressive.

Great food

The food here is superb. Complex flavour combos and thoughtful vegan recreations of traditional Japanese and Korean dishes that don't skimp on flavour or texture. Attentive friendly staff. However, the decor in this place is really off. I'm not sure of what aesthetic they were going for but nothing in here works, including the name of the place It looks cheap and thrown together. The food is the star. I'm not normally impressed by vegan food in Adelaide, whoever is cooking here knows what they are doing.

Pros: High quality food, Gluten free options, Attentive staff

Cons: The fit out and design aesthetic has no appeal

The 'let us feed you' was amazing

First friendly staff and comfy chairs😄we went with the 'let us feed you' option because we couldn't decide on what to try and everything we had was amazing and so full of flavour!
Definitely a place everyone should try!

Pros: All vegan

An unexpected gem!

What an amazing place we accidentally stumbled across when looking for our car today. It has a nice vibe and very clean throughout. The main meals were of a decent size and great value for money. If you order the King Oyster Mushrooms it’s the sauce that’s really hot! We didn’t realise until the end and got a really solid kick from it.

Pros: 100% vegan, Good meal sizes, Red curry was yummmmmm!

Cons: Can’t fault this place

Food delicious, service disappointing.

Review would be five stars, but the service was not good. Dirty plates left on the table for over an hour after we finished, drinks not replenished, and difficult to grab someone to ask them to serve us. We were sent out at the end to find a cash point as the staff didn't know how to split the bill.

Pros: Great food.

Cons: Poor service.

Just go there right now.

You could view this place as a bar with excellent food. Moderate pricing, but it’s a good place, central location in Adelaide city, food is tasty. This isn’t a scruffy vego place. It’s clean and minimalist in decor. Everyone is welcome.
Beer is expensive (like every bar in Adelaide), but the citrus-infused water is free. They are open when other places have closed, so for that alone, it’s worth paying a premium. Actually $20 for a main isn’t bad.
My first choice whenever I come to Adelaide.

Pros: Open when other places are closed. , Good menu choice, for any time of day. , Serves drinks too.

Very nice place

The chickpea curry is sooo good! It's great to find a Japanese curry and not an Indian one for once. The naan is not amazing, but still good.
Maybe a bit too expensive though. But great food, so it's a nice way to treat yourself

Pros: Good selection, Very tasty Japanese-style curry

Cons: A bit expensive

Good, not great

My experience was probably a 3.5/5. Its above average but i cant say it was 'very good' to be a 4.
Everything is quite pricey which is fine if the food is awesome and for my experience, i cant say it was awesome enough to deserve the price tag. I came in with no expectations but left thinking it was alright but im not exactly desperate to go back.
The oyster mushroom skewers were probably the best dish we had. The sweet potato entree lacked flavour. I think it needed more sauce. The coconut curry was quite spicy but it doesnt say anything about spice on the menu. The apple crumble dessert was good.

Pros: Nice atmosphere

Cons: Pricey

Great!

Nice relaxed place. Lovely service. Casual. Delicious food.
The skewer mushroom was tasty and the crispy tofu was lovely.
My second trip included Banana Blossom salad.... it was beautiful.
Great to go somewhere and be able to choose anything from the menu.

Pros: All vegan. Beautiful food. Great service!

Cons: may be seen as expensive for current expectations , of $ versus quantity.

TOTALLY delicious. No blandness.

I had the banana blossom salad and it was amazing! So full of flavor and the textures were great. Can't wait to go back and try something else.

Pros: all vegan

Food aesthetically pleasing, but lacks flavour.

Kudos to who started up V-Vego, the first of it's kind of thing in ADL. Perhaps we had an off-night, but the food was underwhelming. The banana blossom salad was incredibly bland. After asking for some dressing, it was a little better. The crispy tofu had flavour but the texture wasn't the best. Slightly soggy on the outside and sloppy within. The produce is bright and vibrant and without a doubt fresh, but somehow lacked flavour.
Service was polite and open to the suggestions and discussions about the food. Decor is somewhat try-hard, an attempt to be 'urban cool'.
Considering the price point, I was expecting more. Willing to try again at some stage. I'd encourage readers of this review to give it a shot. I dined only in the first week of V-Vego being open and they could have simply been experiencing teething issues.
Also: the name... a little cheesy, and if anything it seems it will deter non-veg eaters from giving it consideration.
