Uninspiring Simple, Pricey Food - Edit
I was very disappointed with V Street. I was super excited with the concept and the Philly vegan scene seems to always impress. I thought the food was simple, nothing special. The portions were small and the price was high.

Romantic Vegan Restaurant - Edit
V Street restaurant is a vegan upscale restaurant with a romantic atmosphere. The food portions are small and it’s a bit pricey for what you get. They offer a limited selection of vegan choices. They have a beer and wine list as well as kombucha.

Slightly fancier/pricier vegan restaurant! Not TOO many options but everything I have had there is very delicious! I dream about the ice cream I had there sometimes. I love this place !

Wow. Incredible food. - Edit
Our group of 5 tried and shared just about every dish of the 12 or so offered. Wow. Every single item was unique, flavorful, delicious. We loved our meal! Street food from around the world, all vegan. I will mention most of the dishes were spicy, so be mindful if that’s a problem. For our kids they brought a very simple noodle in earth balance. Between that and the veg hot pot the kids were satisfied.

The Best Restaurant Meal I’ve Had In Ages - Edit
Do not miss an opportunity to go here.
Read moreDespite being very busy, service was quick and friendly. The waitress was happy to give us more info on the dishes. Our many plates came out quickly. I do suggest a reservation as it gets quite busy.
The food was creative and perfected. There was a mix of flavors from all around the world, including things i had never heard of. However, these flavors were presented in more familiar ways, such as tacos or dessert waffles. A simple dish of greens was somehow amazing. The plates are small, which was great because my partner and i were able to order eight or nine things and try them all.
I am looking forward to going back as soon as i am in Philly.
Update 2019: I have visited here twice since my original review. The food is still amazing! I love trying new foods, like sfenj, a fried Afghan pastry similar to a doughnut.
Update 2020: They have added a prix fix to the menu, which was a great deal. You can choose one dish from each category of the menu, plus a dessert, creating a $35 four course meal. I love that they added this and hope that it stays! i liked that you still could choose from anything on the menu. Also noted is that Whiz Kid, a lunchtime sandwich shop operated by the same people nextdoor, is now called V Street. Best cheesy fries and amazing seitan.

Nice place but dissatisfied. - Edit
Nice busy place. Noodles were bland. 1 of potato wedges was half raw. Again maybe just my palate (i love salt and eat at Vege Asian places all the time without getting salt overdosed) but way too much salt. Dishes were prepared Garlic free (very thankful for that) and consequently may have been over-seasoned but found the salt & heat overpowering and missed genuine flavour. Will try again.

Cons: Too much salt and chilli at the expense of flavour

Ultimate Vegan Lunch in Philly - Edit
I've been here for dinner and brunch a few times, and both were quite good. However, in my opinion, where they really shine is weekday lunch. At this point the Wizkid Philly has been praised enough that there isn't much more for me to say. If you want a vegan cheese steak in Philly this is the one to get. What's become my new favorite tho is the Reuben Steak, basically the Wizkid with Reuben appropriate fixings. Wow, such an explosion of flavors - it's almost overwhelming. The addition of sauerkraut, pickles and a spicy Thousand Island sauce here just works so well it's like the Wizkid on steroids.
Read moreIt's too bad they introduced the Nash Hot around the same time; because this is another flavor bomb that deserves attention. For the time being because I want to keep my BMI at a reasonable level, I can only order one of these two - and my go to has to be the Reuben. But if you're not there alone, I suggest you share both - you will not be disappointed.

Nice food, but pricy - Edit
Had the prix fixe option for dinner which costed $38 for three plates (one from each menu section) plus a tiny but delicious dessert. The service was smooth and the dishes tasted great, but it a bit expensive for the amount of food. Also, the Wiz Kids cheesesteak is not available for dinner 😢

Small portions, pricey food - Edit
I'm from Hungary so I choose the Hungarian langos. I was hungry and the portion was so small, that it literally took me less than a minute to finish it (it was around 4 bites). The flavour was exceptionally good, very well balanced. The sauerkraut sauce was amazing and went really well with the bread and the crispy shitake and the green dill as well.
Read moreIt was 13 USD without the tip. I could not afford to eat more, so I left just as hungry as I came in.
Pros: Very good flavours, vegan
Cons: very small portions, pricey

Excellent lunch! - Edit
Friendly staff and beautiful old building. Simple but interesting menu. Delicious food. We had the Reuben, Philly, okonomiyaki fries, regular fries, crumb cake, and brownie...all were great and would totally get again. Did not know that parking is a challenge in that area as we were just passing through town but that’s the only bad thing I can say.

Great Cheese steak - Edit
We ended up here for a late brunch because I wanted to try the famed Wiz Kid cheese steak. It didn't disappoint. Top to bottom, it is an amazing sandwich. My wife was less happy with her tofu Benedict. She said the hollandaise just tasted like spiciness. But who cares about her. Get the cheese steak.

Anniversary Dinner - Edit
My fiancé and I loved this place. There were so many delicious/creative options that left us full at the end of the meal. We ordered 5 small plates and 1 dessert and we were able to share everything. I highly recommend getting dessert - it was amazing! Can’t wait to return to V Street and try some of their other menu items!

Oh how much I love this place! Dimmed lights, candles, cozy, romantic. Perfect for a date! - Edit
I didn’t do any research prior our visit, neither and made reservation. When we got there it was full, of we wanted a table we would have to wait 40 min, we chose to sit at the bar, but it got even better, after maybe 10 min some hosts left and hostess offered us beautiful spot by the window. We were little surprised by the size of menu - just eleven options - 6 snack and and 5 kinds of Fire & grill meals. But hey, it was actually easier to choose something. Our waitress was very friendly, kind and helped us to choose.
Read moreMost of the food is spicy, so that narrowed my selection, I ended up with Cauliflower “65” ($10) which was served with cucumber mint raita, crunchy papadum. It was really a size of an appetizer but man, it was so good! Very original, I have never had anything like that! My boyfriend got The Trumpet Mushroom Shawarma ($14) - za'atar, hummus, harissa, fattoush salad. It looked and tasted so beautiful!
As a dessert we got Waffle ($9)- chocolate ganache, halva, sumac sour cherries - that was the best sweet end we could get.
All their meals are served and decorated so beautifully. Portions are little so it makes the food little pricey, but it is very original spot for vegans interested in street food culture from all around the world.
Pros: Romantic ambient, Original, Beautifully decorated
Cons: Small portions, Little pricey

Great vegan date night spot! - Edit
V Street is fairly small, intimate (but feels a little cramped at times), very busy, and super charming! Their plates are perfectly proportioned, and their worldly vegan street cuisine is artisanal and delicious! My partner and I recently went here for the second time. We’ve had items from both their brunch & dinner menus. I would definitely get the Peruvian fries and the Shishito peppers! The Langos bun (Hungarian pizza) on their dinner menu is also amazing! Service & staff are also wonderful! Would highly recommend this spot for a romantic date night spot. Make sure to make a reservation!

Well spiced - Edit
We arrived during happy hour and were able to take advantage of several small plates on the menu. Each one was fantastic. The brussel sprouts, spicy noodles, and the Korean fried tempeh tacos were amazing. I’m often a little disappointed by food not being spiced enough or well. Not here. Spiced to perfection! Oh and the beignets were amazing, too!

Not what we expected - Edit
Nice location. Friendly staff.
Read moreWe were told that everything on the menu are
small tapas style portions.
Unfortunately this was true.
Anyway - we ordered HARISSA GRILLED TOFU,
SINGAPORE NOODLES and KUNG PAO CUCUMBERS.
The cucumbers were not very creative but very spicy.
Singapore Noodles were really tasteless and greasy and came only with three tiny pieces of tofu.
Harissa Grilled tofu was strange. A lot of hummus and fattoush salad that had nothing in common with his original.
No Arabic Bread on the side.
It’s vegan that’s great but poor quality is really bad.
Everything is too spicy and they are not able to modify
the menu in request.
So sad.
Pros: it’s vegan
Cons: really spicy prices for this quality

good food meh service - Edit
Go for the food and not the service. There will be hidden cilantro so if you dislike it, make sure to ask about EVERY SINGLE THING you order. My friend hates cilantro and said a such. Waiter didn't think to say anything about the cilantro in other dishes we ordered. Just get take out and go to the park to eat. The shrieking children are preferable to the service here.
