Vegan food in New Hope

Visited this past weekend for the first time.
Some of the food we got was good and some was just okay. My husband really enjoyed the calamari. The prices are also pretty expensive.

Delightful for lunch or dinner

Reliably enjoyable. We’ve been here a number of times. Today I had the Brie Grille Cheese and my partner had the Tofu Bahn Mi. Both delicious.

Overpriced, don’t get the pot pie

We paid around $30 for a pot pie that (1) had no pie and (2) had no protein. It was a mushroom and potato stew with a dry biscuit on top. There is no reasonable argument that this was a pot pie, but we paid $30 for it. We also got a flight of soups. The French onion soup has no cheese in the flight form, at least. The chowder is OK—one of us had real chowder before and said it was “fine.”

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and I'm truly sorry your visit didn't live up to what you expected — especially the pot pie and the soup flight. That's not the impression we ever want to leave, and your feedback genuinely helps us do better. For the record, our veggie pot pie is priced at $25, though I completely understand it still didn't deliver what you were hoping for. You'll be glad to hear we've since started adding cheese and a crouton to the French onion in our flight. I'd love the chance to make this right — please reach out to me directly and your next entrée is on us.

Good food but pricey

Went for lunch time and brunch was still available, which was nice as I got the tofu scramble. I thought the portion sizes were good just the food was pricey. Lots of options on the menu.

Overpriced Frozen Food

We ordered the Mushroom Calamari and the Vegan BBQ Ribs off of the Specials menu. Both items were lacking in flavor and portion size relative to the price tag. The sauces seemed like they were from a jar. The bbq ribs were especially bad for $34. We essentially received 4 small mediocre ribs on a mountain of fries from a frozen bag. The side of coleslaw was small and tasteless. The service was good.

Pros: Good ambiance, Service

Cons: Food, Price

So many options

While the menu may be pricey, this place offers so many vegan dishes that you can’t find elsewhere to make up for it. I ordered the salmon, and I’m so thankful the waiter emphasized that it’s soy-based, because I would have questioned if I was really at a vegan restaurant otherwise. Everything was great, portions were good, and everything was fresh. For dessert, I got a banana split with mint chocolate chip ice cream. It 100% had real mint in it. They are serious when they say farm to table. Friendly staff, great ambiance. Going to go again with more time so I can enjoy the quaint town as well!

Want to like it, but overpriced and inflexible

I’ve been to V-SPOT a few times now and I really, really want to like it. I love supporting 100% vegan places and, on paper, this looked like a great find. But it is overpriced, the food is hit-or-miss, and they are ridiculously inflexible. Here’s the good, bad, and the ugly from my last visit (Mother’s Day weekend brunch):

The good: vegan “eggs” benedict was excellent, and Tex-Mex style scrambled tofu was also quite good. The ambiance was great; we sat outside and it was a lovely day.

The bad: crepe ($24!) was tiny and no-frills— just some vegan whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. (Our local crepe place has ONE vegan and gluten free option for $9 and it’s still better than this overpriced dud.) The banh-mi was so bland and flavorless that it should’ve been called a banh-mid or a banh-meh. (To add insult to injury, Sprig and Vine — located two minutes away — serves the best vegan ban-mih I’ve ever eaten.)

The ugly: the brunch price was advertised as including a glass of champagne per person. Nobody in my family drinks alcohol, so we politely asked if they could replace the champagne with literally any other drink (juice, sparkling cider, even seltzer). They refused saying “we don’t allow for substitutions”. When I tried explaining the situation, they just repeated it like a robot. They “helpfully” pointed us towards their mocktail menu and told us we could order something from there (gee thanks for pointing out the obvious); my mom ordered a $12 mocktail. It was Mother’s Day— they could have easily said, “since you all are not having the champagne, we’ll just comp HER drink…” A thoughtful gesture to show some human empathy? Nope. I spied a table of two older couples who didn’t order the brunch special, and asked our server to deliver our champagnes to them with our compliments. No dice. She said that they couldn’t do that either, citing some policy. And then, the kicker— she says to me: “Don’t worry, sir. I can assure you that we won’t let the champagne go to waste.” So the champagne I PAID FOR as part of my meal will be dutifully used for (resold to) other patrons of the restaurant? Whew, what a relief! (I was actually tempted to ask her to bring the champagne to our table and then have her watch me as I poured each glass down into the flowerbed near our table… But even I couldn’t muster up that much pettiness.)

The verdict: wanted to like it but we probably won’t be returning. Overpricing and inflexibility killed it for us.

Pros: Some dishes were tasty , They use “yo egg” for the runny yolk experience! , Cute ambiance in a fun town

Cons: Pricey for small quantities , Some dishes were bland or flavorless, Inflexibility / impersonal attitude to customers

Update: after reading my review here and/or on Google, V-Spot’s manager reached out— she apologized, heard me out and took in the feedback, and then graciously offered us a partial refund. It was a classy move, and so we may give this place another shot after all….

Enjoyable Lunch

The V-Spot is a very cozy restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating for enjoying a beautiful spring day! I ordered the Truffle Brie Grilled Cheese with Rosemary fries and it was fantastic. My partner ordered the perogies, which they enjoyed. They have a very extensive menu with a number of dishes that I do not often see veganized and I would definitely return to try more of them. Bless you all ❤️

Keeps missing the bar

I keep wanting to love this place. Their food just keeps missing the bar. Steak tacos has small amounts of flavorless steak overwhelmed by lots of pickled onion. The pasta carbonara overly sweet, no richness. Their new Reuben sandwich had tasty ingredients, but there was little corned beef compared to sauerkraut, and was too salty. I need to stop trying their food

Average vegan

I have been here before when it was more casual and really enjoyed it. Now that it is more upscale, it did not live up to expectations. Not a lot of flavor in most dishes. Seitan fajitas bland. Mus Mushroom soup slim was slimy and salty. Best dishes were the citrus salad, Nirvana soup and fries. Staff was supper and a lovely place. Food needs work.

Brunch

Complimentary champagne with brunch. I got a tofu scramble which was very good, I think it was mixed in with just egg. They seem to have a lot of options many seem like they have a decent amount of bought products. The whole menu is vegan which is great. Atmosphere was nice, staff was friendly.

Pros: Complimentary champagne , Full vegan menu

Lovely Experience

Vegan surf and turf??? Excuse me?

It was damn good, too. I had a lovely lunch made lovelier by Audrey, who was a delightful server. It's such a pleasure to encounter someone who is so kind and caring.

The food was great, atmosphere lovely, and staff even more lovely.

Oh, and the cheesecake was devine.

Pros: Wonderful Staff, Delicious Food, All Vegan!

Great Food, All Vegan

We tried several appetizers, main dishes, and even ice cream! Everything we had was delicious and would not scream "vegan" to us, so if you're dining with mixed dietary needs, this a really good option.

Pros: Tasty food , Excellent service

Cons: Some items were pricier than we thought reasonable

Good place!

I’ve heard not so great things about V-Spot, but I’ve actually had pretty good experiences every time I’ve gone. I have had the ravioli, pierogis, Korean BBQ beef and veggies, and most recently the seitan tacos, and I’ve enjoyed all the dishes I’ve tried! The seitan tacos were particularly good. Even my far-from-vegan family member enjoyed the food - he got the nachos and he ate them all! We also shared a raspberry cheesecake which was delicious. The restaurant has a large pet-friendly patio, so my kitty also enjoyed the experience (she tried to steal my food AND roll around in the dirt). The only con is the high prices, but it’s New Hope, so it’s understandable.

Pros: Tasty food, Enjoyed by non-vegans, Pet-friendly patio

Cons: High prices, Small portions for some dishes

Great experience!

Delicious food, beautiful restaurant, lovely small town to mozy through.

Traveling through New Hope and this was our first time here - but we will be back!

100% vegan menu with so many choices. (Our 6 year old was sooo delighted with his all-vegan kid's menu! "I can have ANYTHING on it?! No meat, no dairy, no eggs?!!!")

We chose the Reubens and they were yummy. Our little boy got the tacos. Next time we will try the pierogi.

Don't pass up V-Spot!

Wanted to like it but…

My husband and I have tried this restaurant twice. We were disappointed the first time, when we ordered seitan ribs which had a really weird flavor to us, and butternut squash ravioli which had no flavor. We got a salad special which was good. Wanting to support a vegan place we decided to try it again. We got a salad which had mushy canned mandarin oranges and barely a hint of the blue cheese it was supposed to have. We also ordered an appetizer sampler which was left in the fryer so long it was inedible. It’s a shame but unfortunately we will not go back.

Enjoyable lunch

Yesterday, while away for a few days, we discovered this restaurant. We were greeted by a nice, friendly young man. We chose to eat inside because of the heat. We shared what was ordered so that we could try more selections. We had chili, falafel salad, and seitan ribs with smashed potatoes and vegetables. The chili was very good and not spicy. The falafel was nicely prepared and served with fresh greens. The ribs were my favorite and looked delicious.

Pros: Friendly staff, Cleanliness , Nice selections

Cons: Vegetables could have had more seasoning

Wish I could be thrilled with this place

You know I want to be able to give a vegan restaurant 5 stars. But this one didn’t even earn four stars. The outside dining is lovely. The linens inspiring patterns and colors. The waitress was nice. But the food was only so so. The grilled veggies was very uninspired with non- local veggies cut in chunky ways and barely seasoned or soft. Think bell peppers and zucchini. Service was slow. Water ran out. Special salad was pretty but served with minimal dressing. Nirvana soup was the best thing we ordered. I will not return, especially with another vegan option in town which was very good.

Good option

I got takeout so I can’t speak for the restaurant vibe but I got the special of French onion soup and chili. Chili came with cornbread which was pretty tasty, but the French onion soup was weirdly too sweet and had a piece of bread with an unmelted cheese slice on top

Pros: Cornbread, Chili, Being an option

Cons: Taste of French onion soup
