Been here once for a special occasion and it was lovely. I have seen some reviews saying it’s expensive - yes, it’s not an everyday place. Lunch might be more affordable.

Super expensive - Edit
The food was good but I went with some gift vouchers someone gave me - not sure I would've enjoyed it if I was paying myself. I think we spent £80 between two with no drinks or anything. Nice food and great service but the prices are kind of crazy. I won't be going back unless I'm given more vouchers.

We had our wedding reception here! The food never misses! - Edit
Having loved the food here for a long time, we decided it would be the perfect place to have our wedding reception that would offer delicious vegan food for our 50 guests! We were lucky enough to be able to hire out the whole place and Matt Danny out on an incredible vegan banquet for us - it was incredible, delicious and the guests loved the food!

Special treat, though slightly mixed feelings - Edit
A special place for a special occasion. Clearly really creative and skilled cooking and many of the dishes were fantastic. Really lovely staff and atmosphere. However... it's interesting another review suggests the food was rather bland as we felt the opposite, if anything - everything felt like it was turned up to ten, and sour flavours were particularly prominent. I am a lover of sour flavours but it was too much sour even for me! It depends what you order, of course, but we looked up the dishes we hadn't ordered and they looked quite sour-heavy too! Just feels like flavours could be a bit better balanced. But overall we had a good time and a special meal, it was creative cooking, lots of really good flavours and ideas, and ingredients we hadn't tried before - and we had a lovely evening.

Best veg focussed vegan food - Edit
Been here many times - usually for special occasions. Super interesting vegetable dishes. Always delicious and flavourful. We also looove the vegan full english! Have always found the staff to be super friendly and provide great service. VorV has been a brilliant addition to the city.

Tough review to write - Edit
I barely ever give 3 stars and I'm not sure I normally would for this but I think my expectations were extremely high so them not being met felt a lot more like a letdown.
Read moreFor years I have been wanting to go here, on paper it's exactly my thing, veggies with a twist. I much prefer asparagus over a burger, I love aubergine and mushrooms and greens, you get the idea... Having heard people rave about V or V and comparing the standard to The Ivy (which I've never been to), had me think that the flavours would blow me away. Unfortunately, I wasn't blown away at all. It was very bland, so bland we asked for salt, for which we received eye rolls from the waitress and staff members behind the bar. It was more tastier with some extra salt, but anything would be. Had I eaten here without the expectations, maybe I would not have minded so much, but feeling like this is it, a treat out with a friend sharing lots of dishes that include my fave vegetables, made it a fairly disappointing visit.
Pros: Tons of options, Plantbased rather than vegan
Cons: Pretty bland

Really tasty breakfast - Edit
Breakfast was really good. Staff were friendly most of the time but felt they one was visibly annoyed when we asked for vegan butter and also the bill. Its really nice inside. If you order vegan breakfast, specify you want vegan butter (well they dont do vegan butter, they give you olive oil to pour on) as I got real butter and didn't notice till I bit into it.

Not the best - Edit
Tried to visit this place 3 times on different occasions. Always fully booked. Thought to myself “- This must be really good place if it’s so busy” but unfortunately I was wrong.
Read moreOn 4th attempt we finally managed to get a table and at this point my expectations were really high.
Menu - 1/5
Confusing, no pictures, no categories. I even asked waiter if they made it so confusing on purpose?
Food - 1/5
Ordered 5 different dishes. All of them deep fried, flatbread was soaked in oil. Broccoli dish was burnt and had some weird seeds that would release “perfume” type of flavour.
Baked potatoes were okay even though was not the biggest fan of baked nuts combo.
Overall - super unhealthy, small for the price. Was expecting something healthy and refreshing- but it was complete opposite.
Service - 5/5
friendly, professional, quick
Pricing - 3/5
Some dishes were way too small for the price and some others fairly large. Overall me and my partner spent £54 on 5 dishes and we didn’t have much left to pack for later.
Place - 2/5
It is definitely personal preference. Some people might like it some people might hate it.
I wasn’t too keen on it. It looked a bit like a dark garage, with some unpainted wood panels. Was definitely expecting something a bit nicer decorated for the price we were paying for dishes. But then I do understand that place is quite small and it is a small business. But still - owners can improve the look.

fantastic! - Edit
Went here a few months ago and was blown away.
Read moreme and 3 friends went and asked the waiter for "everything vegan" and were brought out round after round of wonderful food and drinks.
The dishes that stood out to me were the new potatoes in the spiced peanut dressing, the korean celeriac and the japanese bread and butter pudding - all fantastic.
The only down side was i was so looking forward to trying to the vegan cassoulet and they had unfortunately sold out, but i suppose that's a testament to how good it all is!
Pros: wonderful food, wonderful drinks, wonderful staff

A fusion of flavours. Worth 6 stars. - Edit
A nice location in a reclaimed industrial building there are still some original aspects like the whopping great wooden beams. Plenty of parking available on the streets surrounding it. Extremely friendly staff. The menu feels a bit overwhelming at first because it is not sectioned up. On closer inspection they are about three appetisers/starters then 10 smaller plates, about 4 larger plates. The waiter recommended 2 smaller or 1 larger per person. As there were six of us we had pretty much all of the vegan ones between us (probably 80% off menu). Absolutely stunning food. So many different flavours and vegetables. The different textures of the different vegetables were carefully chosen to go with the flavours. One of the best feasts I have ever had as a vegan. Brilliant work.

Finally managed a visit and it was worth the wait. The food was wonderful - we shared 3 starters and 3 mains and that was about right for 2 hungry people! The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive and the quality of the food was excellent.

Surprisingly good - Edit
Everything we ate was really tasty, especially the cabbage - who would have ever thought that?? The main (aubergine with tomato sauce) was pretty standard but all other side dishes and the dessert (peach sorbet) were delicious. They suggested to get 5 dishes to share between 2 people but I think that's too much if you want to save some space for the dessert too. Small dishes are around £6-7, mains around £10, desserts £6-7.

Great food and atmosphere. - Edit
We went to V or V the night before lockdown which happened to be my birthday! We were made to feel welcome and the atmosphere was lovely. Hand gel on arrival and on tables as well as masks worn by staff which made us feel very safe and comfortable. The food was outstanding.. it came quickly and included so many amazing flavours! We didn’t feel rushed at all even though they were fully booked. Overall a great night.

Loved it, but it's definitely not fast food! - Edit
Fantastic vegan food at V or V. Loved the experience. Friendly staff. Great place.
Read moreWhen they explained that it’s one of those restaurants that just bring each dish when it’s ready, so you don’t get to eat your whole meal at the same time I thought I would be fine with that… but to be honest it turned out to be annoying. First they brought the bread-based dishes all out first, meaning we filled-up on that too soon and had no appetite left for the nice vegetable dishes which came sooooo very much later. Plus it meant our quick mid-week trip out ended up taking so much longer than we’d expected, which ate into our other evening plans.
So to sum up – great place and great food but only go if you have a LOT of time to eat at your leisure.
Pros: Great varied vegan choices, Lots of vegan options, Friendly staff
Cons: Takes too long for food to come out

Cant fault it. Imaginative and full of flavour. - Edit
The place is all about flavour. There are so many trendy vegie and vegan places these days, but most just don't cut it and churn out the same bland repertoire. V or V is imaginative and provides a tastey cutting edge menu in a relaxed, chilled setting. Most places you worry whether you've ordered the right meal, I don't think it matters what you order here, you won't be disappointed. Just hope a cook book to come out, so I can recreate some of what I tasted!

Tasty & creative veggie / vegan food - Edit
I can't fault the food, staff or venue it's all fab!
Read moreThey do a range of small and large plates, some are tapas style and others are just mix and match. We opted for the brunch menu and had four plates between the two of us which was plenty! Most of the food is vegan and in many cases the vegetarian options can be veganised anyway (it's clear on the menu what options you have) and they also have gluten free if required.
Thoroughly recommend the Kothu Stir Fry and my partner loved the cornbread. It came to about £25 a head with drinks, meals and coffee which was very reasonable for the amount we had.
Super friendly staff and the venue feels airy and spacious. Loved it, will be back!
Pros: Extensive menu, Nice staff, Lovely venue

Fantastic - Edit
Went here when it hadn’t been opened long. Was VERY impressed. Not your normal veggie/vegan hippy style place. Very classy, great for couples, food excellent. Not your usual curry, pasta, risotto dishes here. No they actually have imaginative and tasty food! Will be going again. Give it a go!
