Average food, good location

The location is what makes this place. I have only been in the evening but it's candle lit and cosy with tonnes of seating and greenery. The food was average at best. I had the bruschetta and it was too doughy and stodgy for my liking, bean burger was a bit burnt in places and fairly tasteless. Still enjoyed my experience because of the atmosphere so worth a visit.

Pros: Lovely environment, music and vibes

Cons: Average food and slow WiFi

Amazing location

The food is ok, but it gets a high rating because of the river location and drinks.

You can't beat this place for the stunning location. The restaurant is large with normal seats and floor seating. The best bit is the view of the river with floor seating where you can lounge around and enjoy the stunning view.

I had a fabulous green matcha banana smoothie with coconut milk which was delicious.

Food wise it wasn't that great. I had the veggie larb with rice which was nice and some crispy tofu bites with curry sauce. The bites were crispy but did not like the sauce. Also had some over priced buttered popcorn as a snack.

Over all it's very veg friendly, but the food isn't exciting, go for the drinks and and amazing view.

Pros: amazing location, Has great outdoor seating and atmosphere, excellant drinks

Cons: food is ok, could use more interesting food veg options

Nice place!

Utopia is a cool place to hang out and to chill. Lots of choice to sit at the riverside, grab a table and chair or lay down. Drinks are quite fancy and I like the fact that they use bamboo straws. Food was good, but not supergood. I had the tofu/mushroom laab, which was not warm anymore.

Tasteless, bland and pricey

If you've ever eaten or made a black bean burger then you'll find Utopia's to be awfully dry, with absolutely zero filling other than the patty itself: no lettuce, no tomato, no onion. The chips were delicious and honestly saved the meal.

My partner also tried the vegan laap, and again it was utterly tasteless and bland; it came with a gigantic hunk of red cabbage which added nothing to the dish at all! I ordered the pasta and asked for no cheese or garlic bread, but added tofu (to veganise it) and was told this would be absolutely fine for no extra cost, only to find the dish covered in parmesan cheese and two huge slices of buttered garlic bread on the side. When I politely asked for them to take it back and explained again what I'd asked to be omitted, they apologised and speedily brought another pasta dish out for me, around half the size as the portion before which was undercooked and contained a very low amount of tofu. I was then charged for the added tofu even though I'd changed parts of the fish, as well as having to wait for my food whilst my partner ate hers before it got cold.

Please don't let this put you off the stunning interior, gorgeous location, great atmosphere and vibe. Just don't expect the vegan food or service to reflect that, there are plenty of other places in town to get cheaper and far superior vegan food!

Pros: Amazing interior and location, Chips were great

Cons: Staff overcharged me, Dry, bland and expensive vegan options

Good vibe, decent food, a bit pricey

The food is nice but not the best. You’re paying for comfort and familiarity as this place is purely for the western market. As I’ve been working whilst travelling and WiFi is shocking in most places, I’ve spent a fair amount of time at Utopia and have tried quite a few things off their vegan menu: the spring rolls (average - there are much better and bigger around), the Lao Laap (pretty good!), the curried tofu bites (really nice but expensive for their size - 26k kip for a small starter type dish) and the mango sticky rice (good because of the coconut shavings but still not the best!). There are nicer and cheaper places to eat but it’s still decent and the bar itself is a really nice place to chill!

Pros: Full vegan menu , Great place to chill , Really good WiFi

Cons: Very touristy , A bit pricey, Young ‘gap year’ type crowd

Nice vibe and views, good food

Had the tofu/mushroom laap with sticky rice, checked it was vegan, was very tasty. Also had a couple of drinks as it's a nice place to chill and enjoy the view of the river.

Nice for chilling out

Went there for the lunch and had such a lovely time. The location is just amazing and totally inviting to hang out and linger there all afternoon. The tofu larb was amazing and staff friendly enough. They did have a vegan menu but upon coming back for a smoothie bowl (very good as well) I was informed that some items on the vegan menu actually had butter in it so be aware and just double check.

Sweet spot

The location alone was beautiful. We often went here for smoothies or a beer at sunset. The food was good too!

Like heaven on earth

This place is really amazing. Sofas, coussins, tables... with a wonderful view on the river and a lot of vegetation... you can sit here (or lie down) during hours...

Food is very tasty. Many vegetarian options and some can be made vegan, ask for the vegan menu.
Specify without cheese even if it is written on the vegan menu because some waiters are not familiar with vegan food and you can get the vegetarian version.
So good oreo shake! (with coconut milk).

If I could put five stars I would have do.

Pros: The place itself and its location by the river, Vegan menu and tasty food

Beautiful Oasis

This gem is set beautifully overlooking the river with cozy seating in an atmospheric garden. There are quite some vegetarian/vegan options available which are tasty, cheap and beautifully presented at more than fair prices. Don’t miss it!

Great place!

The atmosphere was amazing, we spent the entire day there just sleeping and ordering food. Not much of the food is vegan but can be made vegan, I had a really nice pizza without cheese, and some of the juices/smoothies were vegan (and tasted amazing). They also offer sunrise yoga classes at a cheap price, I’ve never done yoga before but it was very easy to follow, and the more experienced ones could do more advanced things.

Pros: Atmosphere, View, Yoga

Cons: Nothing was vegan, but had to be made vegan
