A great find! Will be back! - Edit
We are visiting Tucson and our final meal was from Urban Fredh. It was a perfect ending before we headed out the road, going home. It was also the healthiest meal in Tucson. 😉
Read moreI have never heard of this place until a person in Vegan Tucson fb group suggested it. It has apparently opened for 10 yrs! Tucson keeps surprising me with its vegan restaurants and vegan options!
Everything they serve is organic, housemade, and all vegan. The owner is really nice. He and his wife make everything from bread, biscuits, chickpea egg, seitan, gravy, plant based milk, etc. and they use organic fruits and vegetables.
Hubby got the biscuits and gravy. I had the breakfast sandwich with homemade bollilo, chickpea egg, homemade sausage seitan and vegetables. They were delicious and clean meals after all the food we’ve been eating all week.
Their smoothies with housemade plant milk were also delicious.
I talked to him about seitan making and cooking. It is great to be able to talk to a person who cooks things from scratch and not processed. He let us sample his seitan turkey and housemade soup.
A definite eating place to go back to for next time when we are back to Tucson which we will as I ❤️ Tucson( and Kitt Peak….and Kartchner Caverns) 😊
Pros: Fresh organic ingredients , Housemade, Deliciously not processed

Friendly Staff & Tasty Real Food - Edit
We had the bfast burrito and the biscuits & gravy. The biscuits especially were very flavorful and had layers of herbs. We were offered a sample of the soup of the day too which was a lemony lentil chowder. Healthiest real home cooked food of the 20 hour roadtrip!

Excellent food, nice people - Edit
The food and service were both excellent at this small restaurant. When we walked in the co-owner (he bakes and mans the counter, his wife cooks) offered us a sample of his chili soup which was the daily special. It was excellent, so we got that with an order of vegetable stew. For dessert we split the blueberry (almond) cheesecake. Since everything is vegan and most things are gluten free, we had many choices. The owner and his assistant were very attentive - they came to check on us several times.

Worthy lunch stop - Edit
Lovely staff in a quiet setting with outdoor or indoor seating. The smoothie was absolutely delicious. The sandwiches are huge. The cole slaw accompanying my Reuben was different than I expected but I decided I liked it. My friend had the BLT and I tasted the “bacon” which I thought was close to the best vegan bacon I’ve had.

So good - Edit
I had the Reuben but I hate Rye bread but they hooked me up with sourdough instead. Soooo good. If you’re in the area don’t sleep on this. Also ordered a funky monkey smoothie. Everything is just divine. Met the owner and such a nice man!

YUM! and healthy, too. Urban Fresh on Pennington and Scott - Edit
Chauncey and Dana fix it as you like it. They have vegan breakfast burritos all day long and now they even have healthy oyster mushrooms as well as other varieties in some of the soups and entrées.
Read moreThey have some incredible raw specials, one of which was a delectable raw falafel. I go there twice in some weeks, or as often as I can. One of my favorite drinks is the large green juice. But you will find the items you like. I am hooked on this healthy food. if you go there often enough, you’ll find out you will soon be known and called by your name as you walk in the door. This restaurant cares about what it serves, and it cares about your palate as well as your health. Thank you guys.

Delicious, fresh food and consistent quality - Edit
The burger and salad I ordered were truly amazing! I love that their burger patty is tofu and mushroom based as those are 2 of my favorite foods and they make for a savory but not overly heavy burger. The gyro salad is to die for- perfectly balanced and all the greens and veggies are so crisp and fresh.

So Good! - Edit
I almost passed through without stopping here and that would have been a shame. It was so delicious and the owner was SO kind. You can tell a lot of thought is put into how their dishes are made and their products are sourced. I had the eggplant torta special that came with a cactus salad side. Oh. My. So yummy. I've also tried the pad Thai wrap- which was really fresh and light feeling. The chia pudding and cinnamon rolls were delicious too. Will definitely be stopping here every time I am in town.

Exceptional healthy food, and incredible owners & staff - Edit
We are in love with Urban Fresh and can't wait to return. The food is Fresh, healthy and delicious. Even the corn chips for my chiliquiles were baked instead of fried, allowing for a tastier meal and the chance to savor the rich flavors without being heavy and fried. Simply delicious. My hubby got the biscuits and gravy, which were incredible. The gravy was outstanding and different from other kinds we have tries. We got two raw items to go to eat on the road for lunch and they held up great and were outstanding. The collard green wrap with Sunflower pate blew my mind it was so flavorful! Words can't do justice to how amazing the onion tart with walnut/pecan crust tastes - one of the top vegan items I have ever enjoyed. And then there are the baked goods... omg! Flavorful cinnamon roll and out of this world good scone. And the staff were wonderful and the owners/cook were there, too, and so kind. In addition to incredible food, we got wonderful tips on places to explore in beautiful Arizona and tips for parking in downtown tuscon next time we come through. Grateful for an amazing culinary and personal experience 🙏 #Veganuary

The owner was so great to help me choose a WFPB no oil meal. I got the yin yang salad and hubby got the reuben sandwich with a blueberry scone. Everything was delicious.
Read moreWe happened to park in the parking garage on 6th and Pennington. It was right by this place. The owner said the first hour is free. But we had a problem exiting. The parking garage charged us a $1, no big deal but it wouldn't take our credit card. Any credit cards with metal won't work. Luckily for us a parking attendant told us to use another card and it worked. How would anyone know this?
